Well said and explained 100% how it feels like going through opiate withdrawals! I never done Heroin, never touched a needle but I am one of the victims that was way over prescribed by a doctor for opiates and then just out of no where he cut me off for no reason whatsoever. I have never in my life been through more hell than that period of my life. And then I found a suboxone clinic to trade one addiction for another so the government can keep making millions of dollars off of me pretty disgusting what our government has allowed to happen to us Americans! Very sad

Opiate withdrawal is, basically, the extreme opposite of how you feel when you're on opiates. *On Opiates:* Best sleep you've ever had, absolutely zero pain, motivation/extreme interest in life, food tastes amazing, you love everyone and everything, no anxiety, pinpoint pupils, constipation, feeling like you're floating on a cloud *Withdrawal:* Inability to sleep, extreme irritability, restless leg syndrome, weakness, extreme joint/back pain, inability to eat, diarrhea, vomiting, dilated pupils/sensitivity to light, yawning, sneezing, goosebumps, crying over random things, everything tastes awful, inability to concentrate or focus on anything except how you're going to score your next fix to feel better, PAWS (Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome which can last up to a year or two). At first, Xanax and weed do help ease the symptoms. But the more you go through withdrawal, the worse it gets. The more extreme your ROA (route of administration) becomes (pill popping vs snorting vs smoking vs shooting), the harder withdrawal is to manage and hide. Eventually, you will lose everything and become unable to keep a job or spend money on anything except your next fix. You cant function in a normal society until you quit. It takes a little while to get to that point, but it will happen if you dont quit for good shortly after your first few withdrawal experiences.

The nightmares........don't forget the nightmares during what little, restless sleep one does get while sick. It was always one of my worst symptoms. Those dreams would cling to me for months. Dopesick = pure NEED.
