Looks good
Awesome thanks
Looks wonderful
could you paint the ceiling first before drywall so there is less of a prep?
Plus your video say how to! Your a dip $****
Thank you for showing the process. Not this video is no help Whatsoever
There are other good videos for that on TH-cam.
@@KodiakWoodcraft but why name it how to if you didn’t show how to do it
Oh weird. More epoxy. People rather have a black synthetic blob rather than a plug. Mind blown
Yes, that was my preference.
Junction box links?
Did you have any issues of not starting, after say 30 mowings it won't start..believe no spark, what is the purpose of the microswitch that's mounted to the inside of the choke lever mechanism ( hard to see ),I believe my no start is related to this switch somehow.
I had the same problem with grass clippings getting caked on the deck, it drove me crazy. I tried all sorts of sprays. I finally fixed it by cleaning the deck with wire wheels, getting the deck as smooth as possible, then I sprayed several layers of clear coat, until I got the deck as smooth as possible. Also switched to Ballard blades. I haven't had to even hose off the deck in three seasons much less pressure wash it.
I would love to see a video on this! :D
I have the 223cc engine and I must have some friction or something because it won't even power the blades. I've thought several times about swapping the engine, I thought too myself, "Surely people have thought of this as well!" Any forums you suggest looking at?
Also, I don't see any follow-up videos. How is it still holding up?
this engine looks perfect on this mower. I wish they would sell a version with it from stock. They have it on the turfmaster hdx but they sell it for 3,000.
Going to sell mine and buy a used exmark or scag 30"
Hi , It’s nice and very detailed video. I just wanted to check what color on your walls?
did you dilute the paint at all?
Using the chute (& not the mulcher) makes a huge difference in the grass not caking-up & clogging-up under the mowing-deck!
Kohler vs Honda engine for that Timemaster lawn mower, which 1 is the better engine?
Own and love my brand new Timemaster. No grass collection issues. I always clean out any mower I ever use, just because I'm pretty anal about taking care of my equipment. But even in wet grass, no issues. But you cannot mulch wet grass, this applies to anything you use. Always use the side chute or bag if wet. No issues with power at all with even heavy grass, in extreme conditions. Like 1 to 2 feet, it definitely starts to bog down. But that's not something you should be doing in the first place, normal mowings. No issues with power. Only reason I'm thinking of a repower is purely to have a hot rod for keeping up my brothers property which gets unruly. So researching a 10hp diesel option.
looks great! doing the same in my basement - any concerns with spraying the fiberglass insulation?
Thanks a bunch! It took two coats to look right. The only annoying thing is that if you move the insulation later (which I've had to do to adjust wires, put mouse bait, etc.) you will expose unpainted insulation and will want to touch it up (which would be a hassle).
@@KodiakWoodcraft can you spray yellow/cream fluffy insulation and have it adhere???
Your presentation skills are excellent. Thx
Thank you very much!
what model Kohler Command Pro CV224, did you buy? i wanna switch my timemaster Briggs and Stratton motor to Kohler.
Thanks for watching! Kohler CV224-3002 224 CC OHV.
Fantastic. Thank You
Thanks!
Hey the shop I work at sells Toro. Everyone that purchased these with 190-223 engine models complains about all the same issues. Toro properly sold millions of these machines but never really would improve/upgrade components.
Yeah I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Looks amazing great job
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks amazing. I'm getting ready to use the Dryfall in my newly built detached garage with high ceilings. Instead of hanging drywall, i like the industrial look of this. 2 questions: 1) Lowes has an acrylic Dryfall that is $40 cheaper than the Lowes waterbase Dryfall. What is the reason for one over the other? 2) Who rents a sprayer? I don't want to invest in a sprayer that i will never use again.
I am not sure about the price difference. I imagine any flat black dryfall would work well. I bought mine refurbished from a company online and resold it on Facebook Marketplace after the project.
Any chance you can give me the Kholer part number as I would also like to order one of these engines to replace the Briggs on my Toro Timemaster. Many thanks, Steve
Hi Steve! I am not sure of the part number, but it was labeled "Kohler CV224-3002 224 CC OHV"
would you recommend spraying the ceiling in the rooms that will remain unfinished? I can't find any information or videos showing whether the entire basement should be sprayed or if I only need to do the finished rooms
I didn't. My woodshop is in an unfinished room, which is also where all the HVAC stuff and water heater is. It made sense for me to leave it alone.
Were there any parts of the ceiling you dont recommend painting over? Obviously duct intake/outtakes and light bulb sockets, but anything else I should be aware to not paint??
I painted almost everything, but like you mentioned there were a few things like that to block off. All the wiring, ductwork, and everything like that got painted.
Great demo and info!
Glad you liked it!
I have exposed pink insulation installed on my ceiling. Should I remove it and go forward with this project? I hate the insulation but I’m not sure if I really need it
Painting over the insulation works (2 coats were needed), but it doesn't look great if you have to go mess around with the insulation later to run new wires or do anything like that. If you don't plan to be touching it much, it's fine to paint in my experience.
How has the deck held up so fa?. I was told the kohler engine was too heavy for the deck and would cause it to fall. Thanks for the video
I used it for the rest of last year and my two first cuts this year - it's been awesome. The deck is pretty heavy duty. I would not worry.
This is awesome man...forget that you couldn't show the entire process (I get it)...I'm looking to do a much smaller space and now I have what I need (and don't) as the blueprint. Thanks! 👊👊
Awesome! I hope your project went well!
What did you do with the insulation?
Painted it. It took two coats. It still looks really good except for the areas where I had to move it around later to access wiring, etc. Those areas need to be touched up.
@@KodiakWoodcraft thanks for the reply. Would you prefer fiberglass or insulation boards?
would you do basement walls. with a sorayer
If I didn't have any carpet or anything like that to worry about, maybe. I painted the walls with a roller.
I like your floor cleanout design, but I'd use a wood screw vs the eye bolt, cuz I'm cheap Did you ever get an Owl to nest?
I got my first owl three years after publishing!
can you let the engine idle down with that throttle lever?
Yes, you can.
Hi, What's the name of the pain you use?
I used BEHR Black Flat Waterborne Acrylic Dryfall Interior Paint.
Cute bear haha ❤️
Thanks, haha!
Starting the same project net week. looks great! What size sprayer tip did you use? Thank You
I am pretty sure I used a TrueAirless 515 Spray Tip.
Obviously, a little late to respond - hope your project went well!
Did you need to prep ductwork to accept paint? Did you set up a fan to blow out fumes etc to outside? Did you need to use a vacuum or blower on ceiling to get rid of dust / construction dust debris before spraying? Thanks
I didn't do any special priming or anything. I did my best to blow the dust off and used an air mover to get it out of the basement. I think I used it when I was painting as well for ventilation, but I don't remember. Obviously, only so much you can do about all the dust up there. The paint accepted perfectly. A few years later there is no cracking or anything.
Frog tape then u get a wet rag and use that to push it down and seal it. Idk why but it works perfect no bleeders
Yep - that is what I should have done!
You’re a great teacher. Iron balusters would look great also. I have the same ugly railing!
Thank you very much! Good luck to you if you're doing the same thing!
Thank you for this. It looks great. I'm about to remove old ceiling tile in my basement. I'm looking for ideas. I don't know if I can get into all that spraying.. But I love what you did!!
Thanks! It was a LOT of work but I am glad I did it.
I have a question!!! You used 10 gallons to paint with, what’s the square footage of your basement?
It's probably around 700-800 square feet.
The engine will not make a difference in how this cuts ! The blades are so low lift a three horse briggs could run it
Before swapping the engine, it would constantly bog down while mulching higher grass. Hasn't done that since. Probably partially attributable to problems with the old engine.
I’m having trouble finding the lights. Are they the grey ones or did you find black ones? Did you paint them flat black?
They are a dark grey color. They actually look fine against the flat black ceiling. I didn't paint them.
Is it ok to spray that exposed insulation like you did?
Well, I did it. Haha. The only negative aspect of doing so is that it's hard to keep it looking fresh if you move the insulation later to access wiring or anything like that.
Any suggestion on how to cover up the area in the trusses for rooms I frame. So it’s not open above the walls to the other rooms?
Hmm, maybe plastic sheeting? I am not sure!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
That looks amazing
Thank you so much.
