Nice,
Did Triumph give you an itemized list of what was done in the first service?
yes all services so for.
@ what were they? Trying to get a sense of the value of the service. If it was just an oil and filter change then it was expensive and unnecessarily done by the dealer. Was there any technical work performed like adjusting valves etc?
@@JLK7700 - I agree, servicing a Triumph is very expensive. The first-year service labour cost was £237, with the total, including parts, coming to £385. The breakdown included items such as the filter, washer, sealing components, environmental and consumable items, as well as Castrol Power 15W50 oil. Technical work performed included updates to the ECU and checks for any recalls. Although valve clearance adjustments are typically recommended at 20,000 miles, this was not part of the first service. For the first three years, having the service done gives me peace of mind, as I know I won’t run into any warranty issues.
Quick question I absolutely held template in place when drilling the holes but once I reinstalled the plastic pan the holes did not line up with the threaded fixture where I am to affix the bracket. Any ideas? I 4 just ordered a new plastic pan to the tune of 65 usd Only other issue is replacing the pan eas quite a feat just would not line up. Hope I don't mess up the new plastic PAN.I just ordered any suggestions are appreciated 4:46
Never mind. I am an idiot. Looking more closely at your pics i placed the metal template above the pegs sticking up from the plastic tray when I should have placed the template BELOW the pegs. Lesson Learned at a cost of $65 USD
no worries, to be fair I bought a spare one before starting which was a waste of time, they were quite cheep on eBay for £30, thanks for watching anyway,,
Earlster, 4 quick questions; would it be a good motorcycles for long distance riding; as in does it relieve all lower back issues? Have you had any mechanical issues that prevented you from riding the bike? If it breaks down, and it was your ONLY daily rider, would the dealership give you a loaner bike(BMW is the only known dealership that seems to give loaner bikes while bike owner waits for his/her bike to be fixed)? Does the rear wheel spin up water on the back of your jacket when you ride in rain?
Hello markettradinggenius Great Question, my Q&A below Would it be a good motorcycle for long-distance riding, especially regarding lower back issues? My bike is exceptionally comfortable for extended rides, especially when compared to the GT version. Although I suffer from back issues (sciatica), the ergonomics of the R version have been perfect for me. I initially considered adding aftermarket seats, but the standard seat has proven excellent so far. Have there been any mechanical issues preventing you from riding? In over three years of ownership, I have experienced no significant mechanical issues. The only exception was a faulty kickstand spring, which was promptly replaced under warranty. If the bike breaks down and it's your only daily rider, would the dealership provide a loaner bike? When my bike was under warranty, I consistently had positive experiences with my local branch. They always offered me a loan bike during service appointments. I will need to confirm whether this policy still applies during my next service visit, but I hope it does. I'll update everyone once I know more. Does the rear wheel spin up water on your jacket when riding in the rain? Yes, the rear wheel does cause some water spray, but this is easily mitigated. Installing a full rear wheel hugger would significantly reduce the spray. Personally, I just rely on the full rain gear I keep in my bag, which works well for me.
@@TheEarlster thanks for answering all my questions my man. Much appreciated. Seems like the rocket 3R is perfect ergonomically for the lower back :)
@ no problem, if you can take a test ride on both models, the seat in the GT is lower than R, I was swapping seats around just to get a feel,
@@TheEarlster Quick question. Do you think you would have the same 'comfortable riding' experience on the Gen 3 Hayabusa as you do the Rocket 3R ?
@@markettradinggenius This is an easy one for me, Hayabusa is undoubtedly a comfortable bike, but, the riding style between the two is entirely different. The Rocket 3R is a cruiser style for sure, upright seating position designed for relaxed, long-distance rides, whereas the Hayabusa features a sportier, forward-leaning posture that's more performance focused, I have only taken out the Gen 3 for a short ride so cannot comment on long rides.
what rear seat bag is that and how is it anchored down mate? thank you
Triumph sports tail pack part number A9510469, and it anchored down my the pillion seat strap and a provided strap on the back which latch connect/release
@ thanks for the detailed info !
nice one mate! What do you think of the STORM version?
If I didn't have this bike, I would definitely bought the STORM in a heartbeat in black/blue colour for sure,
Loved my RSV4 would buy another
@@marksmit8112 yeah me too, it’s my second one now, but to be fair, my heart say replace it for another while my aching back says are you crazy,
My dealer (UK) replaced my faulty TFT screen unit free of charge after getting approval directly from Triumph. My bike was 1 year out of warranty when I told my dealer of the problem. Within 4 days it was changed. Took under an hour, so waited in the showroom and had a free coffee a general browse around. I've heard various stories from others. Not everyone has had theirs replaced free of charge, but many have. I guess it depends on the dealer.
I'll definitely keep my keen eyes on it this time round, until now I never knew this was an issue or anyone had they screen replace free of charge, thanks for sharing.
Rearly like that rear-looking screen. What's it called, where did you get it and was it difficult to install? Love the new Rocket. I rode the original for seven years, 2008 model. A unforgiving beast which always tried to kill me 🤪
Chigee AIO-5, very easy to install, the only challenging task is to hide the cable, 2008 Triumph Rocket III was the original road king for sure,
Fantastic vlog! Sounds like you are as smitten as I am about my TFC variant. I’m 20,000 miles after 4 1/2 years and love it more than ever! If you get chance, get out to Rocketdays in Germany, you’ll love it! It is a masterpiece! Nothing comes close!
Thanks triumphthunderbird1, couple of forums I'm in do the Germany run, definitely on the bucket list,
Absolutely awesome bike.. 1291 pounds to fix is crack is nuts, though
Tell me about it, sure was a big pill to swallow,
Ah, an excellent vlog! Good to see some of us are still doing them! Very interesting chat! Loved it. Tally Bally Ho!
OMG CaptainRambunctious, thank you so much, I’m genuinely thrilled to see your comment on my channel. Your TH-cam videos are outstanding, and I truly admire your work. This video may not be up to your high standards, but I love keeping it real! Plus, it’s so easy to vlog about something that’s such a joy to ride.
@@TheEarlster ah, it’s a pleasure to watch a good vlog on an excellent bike! Glad you like my videos! Am not just a small amount jealous of your bike!! What a machine! Enjoy and ride safely sir!
Lovely looking bike! Why did your screen crack? Thanks for uploading!
Believe a small spanner may have fallen from the loft in the garage. When I initially checked the tank and surround, I didn’t notice any damage and assumed everything was fine. However, I discovered a crack several months later. At first, I considered not replacing it and wasn’t particularly concerned, but since I do a lot of riding in the rain for work, I decided it was best to bite the bullet and replace it. lesson learnt and move the bike next time lol, thanks for watching.
@@TheEarlster Thank you for the reply. Some TH-camr’s have mentioned their screens have cracked so I naturally thought it was a Triumph problem. I think possibly some owners apply too much force when adjusting the height of the screen without releasing the clamp. Ride safe!
@@wakajawaka44 Funny you asked I did wonder if it was me because I saw another TH-camr with a same type of crack but on the other side, I will have to ask him the next time I watch his video,
Mine is cracked too, it's a well known issue. I think it's from vibration @TheEarlster
@@valentinrizvan1870 Thank you for sharing your information. I wonder if this fault applies to Rocket 3’s over 2 years old ? Or perhaps it depends on mileage!
You did an amazing job on the installation mate! I would love to get the same for my Street Triple 675.
It was fun and enjoyable, I'm looking for another one for my SF but since Chigee released this model, there been so many other to choose from.
Whats the tune at the start ?
it's in the description
Poor Brits, having to wear those kitchen tiles on their bikes..
lol, yeah it's big
Hello, this is the first time I've seen and heard about the locks for the brake calipers. Please tell me where you purchased the brake caliper locks, also what's the brand name of your cable lock, and where can I buy it? I'm in California. Thanks
Hello, apologies for the delay I only just noticed this, the Brand name is "Roadlok" and I purchased to from roadlok.com. They will ship in the US for sure.
Just wait till you get in some really rainy weather, the reverse rooster tail will be splashing your back with water all the way home
not really concerned, I have been caught out a few time, but the best part is weekly cleaning which is some what satisfying for me,
I wish you would have shown how to take the thing off the seat as shown in steps 14, 15, and 16. Of note, there is a forum, R3OWNERS, where there are instructions listed in the resources which show some more steps (and the author credits this video) -- it shows it in there. So, between this video and those instructions I think I've got this. THANK YOU!!!
these open mud flap tyers look good when you go in rain or wet you back get cover in spash or rain dirty water from the road. So futting the back Tidy is good idea. I had to fix a back tailrack on a Honda C-90 it took me 2 days of hard work so much wiring. to deal with.
agree it does get dirty in the rain, but the best part is weekly cleaning for me,
I spent 6 months deciding on a motorcycle. All motorcycles. I couldve gotten any one of them i wanted. I took all possible angles into consideration. I chose the Rocket 3 Storm R.
@@DM-ci2nn nice one good choice, I only went in for a look, saw the Rocket GT triple black, and ended up with a test ride on the demo, after the test ride, it was a sealed deal, had to get it, 3 years later it still the best and most comfortable ride ever, I’m well happy,
Great videos as always, just add a second bike :)
Congratulation on your second purchase, it's nice to have the both, enjoy.
Great video. What fly screen do you have as looks to protect the Chigee well and really suits the bike?
Apologies for the delay, It is a Puig Touring Screen Dark for Triumph Rocket 3 R/GT.
I think people underestimate how much balls it take to learn how to wheelie. Essentially getting it to balancing point
100% agree, to be fair, it did took a while for me to discover myself,
Lovely bike, I keep thinking of selling the Panigale for the street fighter but I’m still unsure.
I hear you mate, the SF seating position is so comfortable, it's now my daily commute.
That BMW r1290r exhuast looks like a ducati V4r akrapovic underslung exhuast 10 000$
agree, there is a lot of manufacturers copying one another, to rich for my blood lol
You are 💯correct, the Akrapovich titanium mufflers originally belong to Ducati Panigale Superleggera👊
@@TheEarlster yes that is correct.
Looks like a sweet London ride.
You know that lol
This looks like a nice ride out and the triumph rocket looks superb.
@@kushsakhumate it was very chilly at the beginning, but after breakfast and a few jokes, we all loved it 👊🏽
Not my cup of tea, but each to their own.
Fair enough, and you're correct each to their own😏
What I don't understand is why you parked in front of the door where it was clearly marked "No Parking" when there was clearly a space available.
Lovley vid mate! Not a huge fan of KTM i think they are more of a ricer brand. The diffrent colours and so on. Maybe a full blacked out superduke 1290r evo whould look good
I love the KTM, and agree full blacked out superduke 1390r evo would be in my garage for sure,
nah looks worse
@@friendryan fair enough, beauty is an individual thing,
Waiting for Ducati to add cruise control on it . And a fuel gauge if possible 😅. But cruise control is essential now for this price range
sadly, we will be waiting for a very long time lol
@@TheEarlster yes ,atleast they should consider that street fighter is for streets . That is the purpose of the bike.
@@TheEarlster The panigale has it and the upcoming SF facelift will also have it.
@@tsarnevits Yeah thanks mate, I'm holding back and await to see what happens,
@@TheEarlster It does seem that they still haven't added a fuel gauge, but the cruise control is way more "important" in my mind atleast.
What is the cost of the Akra exhaust? I think most probably it is euro certified.
Cost at the time £4200, but now it's £5400+
@@TheEarlster that’s too expensive for a street legal exhaust. Even the race slip on Akra exhaust provided by Ducati is expensive but cheaper than this. I don’t know what Akra and Ducati thinking of this absurd pricing
agree, if I had to do it again I would of opt for the termignoni exhaust, it wasn't out when I first bought it.
I have had the same issue with bike cutting out, apparently it's something to do with emissions systems. I was informed not to over fill the tank. I tried this and haven't had it cut out since. Well maybe once when I accidentally over filled again. 😅

Hope this helps.
@@justinniessen1983 Interesting, I’ll look and observe this, thanks for watching
I’m very happy with mine. Had two issues though. I cross threaded a screw in the last standoff which was pretty painful to fix. The other was working out where to run the wiring down the side of the bike which I found the instructions to be a little confusing.
Ouch, cross threaded screw is definitely painful, I hope this is resolved now, agree instruction made me nervous in some section. So I had to share my installation experience. Thanks for watching.
Lovely bike Earlster. I would not be selling that example for a while yet.
thanks Bud, I think you need to ride her, only when you are ready, no pressure.
when i hear that so many people have misses doubts, she will not like it and so on, makes me feel lucky cause it's my missus that pushed me to finally buy it. Just because i was talking about it so much she told me to go and F buy it lol
lol that's funny, to be fair my mrs was the same for the 1st bike, she didn't thought I wanted so many bikes after a few years,
@@TheEarlster well i think it goes without saying that streetfighter v4 is not my first bike haha
Lovely bikes, actually preferred riding these over the Panigale V4S....on the road that is!
me too, love riding her everywhere, a smile for every mile for sure.
Mine used to cut out between 3000km and 9000km. After that it went away.
Wow that's in the sweet spot for most riders, I hope I do not have that to come. Thanks for watching,
The cutting out or the bike?
@@mrstatictunes cutting out
Shame you didn't get to go on the bridge to see all the art work closed until further notice
I know, I was gutted when I saw the lock gates, perhaps next year, thanks for watching.
was good to see you as always Earl
Cheers mate, I'll have to make more of an effort to pop down :-)
The BMW S1000RR 2023 and your Aprilia RSV4 RF is the best looking and sounding
100%, also the Honda Fireblade CBR 1000RR sounds were pretty up here, I'll showcase it next time,
It's a beautiful bike, sir and I'm pleased you're enjoying it. I'm on the Multistrada V4s and absolutely love it. I don't think you can beat Ducati bikes these days, the build quality and reliability are second to none✌️
Thanks for watching and I totally agree; the build quality is outstanding. I have my eyes on the Multistrada and definitely need to book a test ride.
🔥🔥🔥
Nice day out Earlster. 👊🏾❤️👊🏾
We know that 👊🏾
I want to get a pair of theese mirrors for my bike. Saw that you took them of for later videos. What happend? Did you end up liking them?
Yes, one of the mirrors was damaged, and the strangest thing is that I have no idea how it happened. Initially, it wasn't a big deal, but over time, it started to irritate me, so I decided to give them away. I did intended to replace them with a smaller pair, but during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was impossible to find a suitable replacement. I only wished these mirrors were scratch proof for the money, but this will not stop me to buy them again.
Did you try the Pani v4? I’m unsure which to buy. The Sfv4 grey Nero is stunning. Something about the Pani calling me though.
Yes, I had the Panigale V4s during my California Superbike School training. It was absolutely a dream to ride, so much so that I really wanted it. However, I couldn’t justify having two superbikes, so I bought the SFV4s instead.
@@TheEarlster awesome. I’ve to try it on demo again. Heat isn’t fun even on a short demo which has me worried. The SF also feels pokier at lower speed- torque is king on the road
@@markholmes5695 yes certainly go on many demo to decide. To be fair all my bikes over litre run hot it's not funny, the SF need to breathe by keep moving so lots of lane filtering for me, but excellent for urban rides. With the two cylinder cutoff this definitely helps, the new generation SF has more torque, so you won't be disappointed, I saw the new Panigale Racing Replica 2023 yesterday I wanted to trade in my bike, it was drop dead gorgeous, ride safe.
Get out the city and enjoy the corners. The Cotswolds is great. Amazing sounding bike. People would love to hear this on the road 👍🙊🙉🙈😬🤣
Couldn't agree more!
You’re very quiet around pc plod. Straight roads is a bit yanky. Lov😮the sound. Get yourself out and about the Cotswolds. Great views brilliant corners. You’ll enjoy yourself. Open road whooosh
agree, also on track it lovely too,
