#retro #bicycle #retrobike #cinematicvideo #shotoniphone #shortfilm Grandis and I - A Short Bike Film - Shot in Verona, Italy I think this short film kinda illustrates how even the oldest bike can ‘take you away’ and even if you live in a city, within a few moments you can be amongst the nature. I bought, or rather 'found' Grandis at a Vintage shop around 6 months ago. The owner wanted 60 euros...

Hi ! Can you give me the reference of your chain catcher please ? Big Thanks !
Does injinji is the warmest fivefingerb socks?
I recently purchased the same gravel bike but I will be swapping out the brake system to a fully hydraulic brake system.
No bar tape on the handles? Does that mean bar tape is unnecessary?
Nice
How does the retro compare to the alpha? I am looking for a shoe that I can mostly use for running 3 - 4 times a week and occasional hiking and camping ect...
Just got the same bike for my over 1200km touring in the future. So far I love it. Your video helped a lot. Thanks mate.
To anyone thinking about getting those, please don't. They're literally toe socks with zero protection, mine got torn within 1 week of use. I was so disappointed, I contacted support and they refused to refund me.😡 I guess you can only wear them at home but even then they're slippery. I recommend getting the Grounding barefoot socks by SV (sansvertue) instead if you're in the market for barefoot socks, they're slightly more expensive but at least it's good quality and won't fall apart. I'm never buying from injinji or vibram ever again
Did you get the wool-variants?
@@Casindus yea
Great
So sick 😊
I did a Spartan in these recently and they performed brilliantly. Caveat: conditions were extremely dry for the race. If there was any wet events / wet conditions then switch to the V-Trails. Love this model.
hi can i run ss on rear and sk on front its still fast? thanks
yo bro should order one a little bigger than my foot ? considering the socks and that my feet may get bigger ?
Water resistant, not waterproof, top off the DWR for light precip, but the membrane will allow egress after a while. The good side is they will dry quicker if soaked.
I am 1.85 with 91 cm legs i have got L size and i think it fix perfect for me. In my oponion seeing your video it looks small for you. Thanks 4 your revuew!
Hello, i know its been awhile since you posted this, but i just got the same bike and love it. Question, did the raceface cranks come stock?
Yes they did :)
Awesome video, thanks for sharing as I thought I was the only one who has tried these out on the trail. I started to wear my V-Train for working out at home/outside on the concrete/in my garage and walked with them at the local park and now wear them casually/work around the house/ and even worn these formally with a suit, I have a few pairs to rotate. I tested these out in the sierra mountains for about 2 miles on dirt/granite rock/ etc. as they felt and performed great. I was carrying a 32L day pack and no issues. I do pair these with the injinji toe socks-trail mid-weight and works great especially for cooler weather.. I also have the V-Run for summer/lighter weight casual wear/workouts.. thanks again for sharing , happy trails..

nice!
Thanks!
They look so good! Do you think they’re breathable? Even if waterproof
It was a pretty hot day in Verona, Italy today and they felt fine, no problems really! I didn't have sweaty or overheated feet by the end. Maybe on longer runs they could retain a little too much heat, however.
Very nice, I might have to try these not sure how these would compare to the stability of my Hokas 🙏🏻
If I'm honest, I like to use both styles of running (barefoot and traditional). I'm not all in one camp, for example. What I would say however is that barefoot does definitely offer something different and I find myself a 'cleaner' and more 'efficient' runner when running barefoot. If you ever get a pair, start with short and slow runs. :)
You should’ve got the front suspension from Canyon
I've got a hardtail :). The front suspension on Canyon is nice but I didn't really fancy it as this was just a experiment to be honest.
Would this bike serve as a combined gravel and audax bike (in 2x set-up)?
@@cinemashow-5 yeah it has 2x gearing so I don’t see why not :). You’d probably want some slicker tyres maybe.
the pattern on the sole is 1 to 1 ViVo pattern, and overall it looks like a copy of viVo primus trail knit.
Yes, I think they are quite similar, but half the price so that's an interesting fact. Most shoes build on success of other brands I think...that's how they find their unique models I guess. I'm actually getting a pair of VivoBarefoot Trial runners in the next few weeks so I'll be interested to try those. :)
I bought this shoe - I love it!!!
Yeah, they are honestly amazing!
Nice review. .
Thanks I’m going to post a one year later soon 😃
I dont know why, everytime i listen to this bike on rough terrain it just sounds so good

Would love to see how these hold up after a few runs?! Great video
Yeah I plan to do a longer term review, maybe closer to the marathon
Love it, great edit

@@kellysherratt3648 glad you liked it!
Wow they look nice! You feel ok running sockless? Blister wise etc
Yeah, they felt great to be honest, no problems at all. I'd probably need to do longer distance runs to test the blister theory though ;), which I will be doing in the future..
I've been wearing vibram fivefingers since mid-highschool around 2012 and my favorite part about them is how I can stand up straight. For hours. I remember I used to sway back and forth in my shoes, I realized one day after I noticed how everyone shifts their weight from leg to leg, but I can stand outright on two feet straight up for 8 or more hours a day
@@DerekMartell that’s epic! I’ve never really noticed that but will keep an eye out.
Howabout so the laces don't snag any forestry wouldn't that be the most obvious purpose
Good point! Could be that tbh
nice feet.. I mean nice shoes
Thank you!
Wondering how the version with the 30mm travel in the Rudy-fork would fare in this kind of ride.
Not sure, I feel that a suspension fork on a gravel is very close to a hardtail mtb with drop bars, which is cool too!
@@TheHealthyTeacher True, although 30 vs 100mm is quite a difference... Most important thing is to have fun riding :).
@@PatJuhNL You are 100% correct!
I was wondering if the bike’s geometry is actually a good one transmitting your leg power efficiently
I find it is yes, It isn't a racey geometry, definitely more relaxed but you can drop a few spacers and get it pretty close. It has a great range of adjustability.
Which size of gravel king you were buying? I am thinking 28 could be enough since i also want to be fast on the road
I got 38s, they work nicely on road but can still do gravel pretty well. 28 could be quite thin for gravel stuff. If you are just doing road then they will be ok.
Enjoyed your video very much. Do you think this bike would be suitable for touring also?
Yeah absolutely! You can stick a rack on the back and Shimano 105 will never let you down!
@@TheHealthyTeacher many thanks.. that's made my mind up👍
Creepers wool toe socks.
Ill have to look at these!
I second the vote for Creepers brand wool toe socks. They are quite comfortable. I have 4 pair that I rotate thru and have been wearing for the last year. They have held up great. I wash them in the cold water cycle with my other dark clothes, but I do not put them in the dryer. I hang them to dry.

why did you think you need size l? I'm 178, 82 inseam and canyon sizing says I can go small/medium. i'd probably go small, not sure though
Whats size did you end up getting? I'm same size as you. 😀
@@awake.at5am honestly I didn’t buy the bikes yet. But if I will, would go for a small. That’s what most people recommend me…
Interested as well 80cm inseam but the bike I want is only available in m :/
@@milesacid3627 Same here 😕
@@JulieRydvalova got it in M, no issues for me at all Just dropped the bar a little and put the saddle to the front Fits like a glove
Canyon frame sizing is larger than other makes Iam 5.8 and have xsmall would normally be small their sizing web site is very useful and also you can send the bike back if not satisfied
