Marx 7” cars usually come in 4 wheel only. I thought they would add variety to my Marx scale rolling stock, so I added 8 wheel trucks. Watch and see how they turned out. #ogaugetrains #toytrain #marx

Marx 333, considered by many as the best steamer Marx produced. In this video we run my 333s, take one apart, and even have a pulling contest. Thanks for watching. #ogaugetrains #marx #toytrain
Go Go Gondolas

Schilling Trains
มุมมอง 2K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
Schilling trains came out in the late forties. Schilling thought that the battery operation would be a great innovation in the toy train market, wonder how that turned out? At the end of video I assembled a Marx pedestrian bridge. Thanks for watching. #ogaugetrains #toytrain #lionel

Marx Locomotives: Damaged, Dirty, and Rusty
Seems pretty quiet for all that tin rolling around. Great restore.
Sleight of hand to quiet it down. (Don’t tell anyone.)
I saw the unique set on eBay and I'm glad it went to someone who can appreciate it. It almost was me!!!!
Thanks for letting me win. Now to find a 742!
great job love the old tinplate
A Marx engine with Forward-Neutral-Reverse, now that's different and cool. Nice save. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing your work on the Unique Art locomotive , now I know to use pre war Marx to make repairs on the one in my roundtoit box. I believe Dorfan may be compatible with the couplers as well.
Great salvage! I love the circus cage car. Very creative!
Interesting
The baggage car is American flyer o gauge
Thanks! Any idea of how old?
@@OldFrailandDecrepit Pre war
Nice vid as usual but why on earth would you drill over your hand? One slip and ouch your bleeding. Ask me how I know. Thanks for your great efforts I always learn something new. Thanx, Sam
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
333 and a smoker to boot. Nice.
Thanks for the interesting video. Job well done! I found that these plastic motors, even in good condition, are very sensitive to even the smallest bits of dirt or dust on the tracks, causing them to constantly change direction (due to the "power interruption" of the dirt). Where other locomotives run without any problems, these locos start dancing back and forth (to the hilarity of my children, so it has a function 😉)
By cracky, I think you`ve got it.
I learn a lot from your Lionel motor “teardowns,” as most of my electric trains are American Flyer, which is a TOTALLY different motor design. Only a few of my trains are Lionel/Marx, but this type of repair video helps me a LOT to repair my O gauge locos. Many thanks, Marx Man! 🚂
I gained a lot of confidence in repairs watching HO wiz SMT.

WoW! That’s Tremendously Awesome! I Loved it! 🫶🏻❤️✨
Better tell Joey we’re all in deep shit if the atm sees the conductor not riding the point on back of those trains I use Lego men on back of mine for this reason Hot glue and pop off when done Lego men fit really good in a Williams or anyone’s old trainmaster
Lego guys!!! Why didn’t I think of that. Thanks!

Awesome entry! It is definitely easy!
Love your videos and your layout! Made me want to run some of my own Marx stuff. Thanks for the good info and fun, God Bless! th-cam.com/video/Qc82_nsQ-cs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MklMD22X8Gdat0X3
Wow! Something about the Alco FA units in tinplate is beautiful. I've always loved the look more of a double A unit consist as well. Im going to have to seek out the KCS and Monon loco set now myself!
The KCS may cost more, but it is sharp looking!
@@OldFrailandDecrepit it certainly is!
Very cool to see you collecting different variants, i recently stumbled upon a Marx Union Pacific M1005. Got it running, now down the rabbit hole and watching all your videos and enjoying! Great stuff!
M10005, which color did you get? I haven’t been able to land the green one yet.
@OldFrailandDecrepit it in fact was the one with green! I'm definitely on the lookout for the accompanying passenger cars now for the set
Your history and narrative is most enjoyable and informative. I have some 7" cars in excellent shape and I left them in their original configuration. I utilize the 999 locomotive to pull two sets. I bought a SP 6000 and caboose with several cars from trainz for a good price and that SP is the power for that freight set. It's a pleasure viewing your channel, brother christian. Jesus is the source and the cross is the means. Take care and God bless.😎🐱🚂🚃🚃🚃✝
Thanks for your comment! The SP 6000 is the first diesel I bought, I’ve run them with most of my tin.
Great job and history of these cars, Marx Man! THANKS! 🚂
Great comparison! Nice job on the conversion with the scale trucks. I really like your repaint of the locomotive and tender.👍
Good show, I was very impressed with that New Marx seven-inch passenger car.
I looked for a long time before I found one I could afford. It was missing one chimney, which I ordered on eBay, should be here tomorrow.
After the 5th try, I would've been reaching for a fifth. Challenge met!
I'm glad that you successively did it.
Great job on the video! 👍
Thanks for participating, it’s not as easy as it looks. You did a fine job and your trains looked fantastic!
Very enjoyable challenge. I rarely run anything in reverse.
if you have a loco with magnatraction try that
Reverse operation is almost always rough, no matter what gauge you’re operating (probably problematic for the real railroads, too). And yet it’s fun in the sense that it’s a real challenge, too. I’ve been most successful when making a train up by placing the heaviest cars closest to the locomotive, and gradually lengthening the train by adding successively lighter cars to increase train length. This train makeup appears to work very well, at least on my train layout, Great video, Marx Man! 🚂
That’s what I ended up doing.
Marx guy here, in today`s environment, some might say you`re a bit back would.
I have to admit I was a little scared when you were drilling towards your hand. Maybe wrapped in a towel and put in a vise?
Doesn’t seem like a good idea, in retrospect.
That’s an awesome looking model 😁👍
So ugly…but I had to have it. Now I have to find the cars that go with it.
This is a really good idea if you’re looking to build a patriotic cut of cars at a really decent price. You can find these cars really cheap! Great job on the video. 👍
I recognise those orange plastic bottles. I have a bushel of those.
Seems the common lot of extended maturity.
I love your channel. I subscribed a couple of days ago. You have helped me to appreciate again the old post war stuff that I have in my collection. Most of the train videos concentrate on the vast lush layout with detailed realism and their operating track side features that just go back and forth, up and down, and round and round and that is all. They concentrate on all the new radio control systems and the new highly detailed engines, rail cars and so forth. I am a child of the fifties and I like my trains the way they were; not the way they are now. I love your frankenstein approach to fixing and modifying some of these old train engines and roling stock. I mean your stuff is already weathered. Paying what you have to pay for engines and cars now; taking them home and crud them up makes no sense to me. I have no remote control train stuff in my collection. I love my transformer and my my 3X5 foot O-27 layout and it is going to stay that way. I live in a mobile home so you can understand it can be a challenge. You have brought to me a new perspective in model railroading. Any way your videos are very much appreciated.
Thanks for your comment. These are toys, meant to be used and enjoyed.
Always enjoy your videos so thanks for sharing. I have also converted the state of maine boxcar to scale trucks and it fits right in and adds some color to the other marx and new marx scale freight cars. Never had Marx as a kid but sure do enjoy it now in my old age. Take care and God Bless.
Marx guy here, I found to avoid damaging the body tabs I`d put a dab of Superglue on them. So, in the future I can simply scrape it off with an XACTO knife. Good job, looks great. GOD BLESS.
If all the tabs get broken I drill two small holes, and use a staple to hold the body on.
Cool comparison between Standard and O gauges. Nice repair tips too.
Great video and awesome acquisition
Great find, Marx Man! 🚂
I just got the C&NW. Best Menards diesel yet. Only concern is they still run too fast. They say they are working to get them to run slower.
To slow mine down I reduce the voltage on the transformer, to 14 volts. I stole that idea from someone else.
That was very ingenious the way that you fix those passenger cars. Thinking outside the box!
Thanks, didn’t know what else to do.
I was telling one of the guys at the train club what I used for the windows, he said “I have several sheets of replacements”. I think I’ll ask him about it next time.
@@OldFrailandDecrepitGreat idea! 👍
I always enjoy seeing less common trains like that beautiful standard gauge.
Your display is awesome
I am going to get a Marx Allstate model 9714 tomorrow. I wish I had more than the Facebook add showed, but for $50 I can't go wrong.
Price sounds right to me!
Try running the Lionel 0-8-0 in reverse to pull the string of cars for a more realistic effect. 🚂
Excellent train show acquisitions, especially the Lionel blue C&O Alco FA and the two Marx 333’s. Your trains run beautifully…great job! 🚂
Excellent video history on Marx’s caboose production through the years. I, too, have a strong interest in cabooses, having a 20 car “caboose train” on my American Flyer layout. Thank you for sharing your Marx knowledge on this most interesting topic. 🚂
Your appreciation for old/antique train items is obvious, as these items are brought back to a serviceable second life for all of us to, once again, enjoy. Thank you! 🚂
Very innovative on your repairs! Great job!
