“Tragedy to Triumph” w/ Paralympian, Carson Clough
Carson Clough grew up a sports guy. He competed in all areas of his life, all the way up to collegiate lacrosse at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Tragedy struck when a boating accident severed one of his legs and mangled the other. A talented surgical team and a bit of luck saved one of his legs but amputated the other below the knee. Almost simultaneously, Carson accepted this extreme change in his life and started moving forward in his new direction. Fast-forward five years and he’s the #1 PTS4 (below knee amputee) Para Triathlete in the USA competing in Paris on September 1st. Join us for a glimpse inside the mind of a young man who had his life turned upside down and in a matter of months turned it rightside back up. Carson Clough is nothing shy of a badass.

I remember once when on vacation with an old partying friend, and as time when on during that vacation, I realized that’s what we had in common was parting. I sat there with breakfast one day ordering a drink, which I don’t do in real life and I felt myself getting too high, and thought to myself, not cool! I had heard awhile back; if you enjoy parting but don’t want to lose your senses, just have a drink, but then back it up with a glass of water. So during that breakfast and revelation, I backed up my drink with water, and I was pleasantly surprised, as it took me from feeling loopy, and an embarrassment to having self control. Now if I ever drink and start feeling out of control, or stupid, that’s what I do. Game changer for me.

Guy is a total clown. He tried and failed to sue the Town of Kent, and waisted tens of thousands of dollars that should have been re-invested into the organization. He has a history of running companies into the ground, just look at his previous employer, so the best thing that High Watch ever did was can him and his wife. I can only imagine the amount of money he syphoned away from patient care so he could live a lavish lifestyle, like his last trip to burning man. This guy and his crew are grifters that will put there own delusional needs before anyone else, which is fine, my issue is that he's using vulnerable people in need to further his goals.

Shep - I hope you read this post: The fact that you have made it this far in your life without trauma is something to be very thankful for, but also you likely will not get out of this life unscathed. My hope for you is that when you do experience a real trauma, you are able to continue life with both an intact body and mind. If you are so fortunate, maybe you'll put the partying brakes on just a bit more, and care about your soul and health more, so you can continue to be happy and healthy until you've reached a ripe old age. You're a totally cool guy...live long and prosper!! ❤❤ (No, I am not a Trekkie!)😊

I’m not sure how it is possible that I am the first person to like and comment since it says in the description box that this podcast was 6 months ago, but I guess that speaks to what she was saying about how niche market this product is and how there is not really shelf space in stores for her product. I sure hope there is more podcast “shelf space” for more conversations like this one!! I loved how authentic and open Fay was with sharing her journey from drinking alcohol at a young age, to finding a mindlfulness practice through yoga and meditation that really worked for her. I was aware of Bonbuz having seen it on social media, but now I’m ready to dive in and really give it a try because you can’t put a price on feeling good with joy and happiness!! I'm so happy this podcast was on my feed. It's a beautiful thing to learn that Shep knew he hit his bottom during Bravocon. He's been a TV friend in my head since season One! Watching the show there were a few potential bottoms. Cameron trying to bring him onboard in her real estate endeavor. He slept through appointments. Kept her waiting for hours. The most cringe worthy. Being embarrassingly ill prepared for a meeting for a lucrative showing of a house . I still wonder what the owner had to say to Shep and Cameron off camera. Did he even list the house with her or her employer. All that to say. I'm excited to see he's making genuine effort at living life on life's terms. Looking forward to seeing Shep in his future endeavors. What a great interview. I'm subscribed. Thank you ❤

While I appreciate both these men’s stories about their journey through addiction to sobriety, I hope they can understand and appreciate that the reason they are both sitting here and are able to laugh about it is because of white privilege.
