Nice video, I'm currently trying this with Scottish quartz beach stones (reddish with black swirls running through) Before crushing and powdering I had a good look with a jewellers magnifier to make sure I saw shiny and so far it looks promising. Good luck with your exploring 👍

At 9:55 looks like all the gold in the quartz mixed in with the water then got dumped into the pond . Just a thought, but it may have been a nice yield ,did you see how yellow that water turned upon quenching . Next time pour the yellow water into a bucket just in case .that looked like a nice amount of pure gold dust .

Why you did not put it in aqua rega then continue in that way instead of looking for gold after one step that you did, which is grinding is the first step to extracting gold from ore

I just use my homemade propane Foundry. I can get the quartz glowing red in a few minutes, then toss em in a metal bucket of water, then grind them in a handheld grinder flail mill that virtually powders them in just a few seconds. Its the way to go if you can wing it. Proccessing ore so quickly and easily that i had to build a large permanent sluice at home. My hobby quickly went from a hand pick and a few plastic pans- to multiple sluices, cleaning sluices, permanent construction in my back yard, and A LOT of 5 gallon buckets and large heavy totes all filled constantly😂

Youre right about the people in the Victorian Goldfields roasting quarts. And what they then did was pour water over the hot rocks to make them fracture. Roasting them served two purposes, not only did it make the rocks easier to crush but it also oxidised the sulfides and released the gold

Looks like thomsonite. Also I wouldn't pound rock on a concrete/cement floor it can damage the floor. I like to lay the rock on another large hard rock to break them open. That is very hard rock to. I think a slab saw or trim saw would work best to cut that out. I have tried with dremel and it can work with smaller thomsonite but is still hard to do. Then clean up with cab machine. Softer rock works better as you can often just wack the rock with mini sledge and nodules can fall out. With hard rock cutting out is best option.

  • @fredrossman1189

I like your idea of heating the rocks so they break up easy. I am out here in washington st. and have some pure white rocks that have a speck of gold here and there. I have a cast iron mortar and pestle that's good for small amounts. turn your pan around so the stuff hangs in the steps the next time.

Least ya showed the prosses & if ya had found anything that easy gold would prob be worthless or worth less than it is + panning u said if it sloshed out the pan its lost nope dont hesitate to pan your dump site from time to time .. like when ya stuck at home & bored or when ever

More like 10-17 years to bloom. I know because I have some I purchased legally from a nursery. The bloom rate is highly variable. The plants themselves could feasibly live beyond 50 years easily. They are like ginseng and other deep forest plants. If you can set up growth conditions for them, I recommend planting some.
