Great video my friend! I deleted instagram before a few months and i am wondering as dj if i need Facebook or i have to delete it too.
This channel is so underrated 🔥 subscribed
Thank you bro 💪
booooo i am not addicted to my phone you are a gross boomer who ges no sex
This video felt like a fresh take on phone addiction!
Great thoughts, well organized. Thanks for the practical tips. Also, your video editing skills are improving exponentially!
Wow that's such a great compliment, thank you !!
Thank you so much for your content, Joe! I just deleted my social media, mainly Instagram, because I feel like I’m developing a severe addiction to it. It’s been consuming so much of my time, and I realized I was doomscrolling way more than I was being productive. I also have OF (non sexual, although no shade/judgement if anyone does sexual OF) but I want to delete that too because I compulsively check it, but it is a means of income for me so its not as simple. I’m a TH-camr with around 51,000 subscribers, and I’ve been struggling with the idea that I need social media to promote my channel and continue doing well. But honestly, it feels like it’s holding me back more than helping me. Do you have any suggestions for staying productive and focused while building an audience? I’d really appreciate your advice!
Thanks for sharing your story 💯 Honestly I think if you can make money from social media platforms or OF you should, but at that level it becomes a tool for you and the struggle will be in keeping it a tool rather than a obsession / addiction. You're clearly talented in growing audiences, 51,000 subs is amazing I can't say I'm not jealous 😂 but there's ways you can apply that skill to social media without the negative affects. For example you can use content distribution software to post across multiple social media platforms (not sure if OF has something similar?) without ever needing to look at a timeline. That way you can continue to be creative, continue pushing your content and brand and yet you never need to actually look at a timeline. You could still fall down the rabbit hole of obsessively checking but set timers and be aware and you'll be fine I'm sure 💪 You
Greek translation pleasee!!!!!!!!!!
I think if you’re making money on social media - stay on it. If you’re not making money on social media - get off of it.
💯 agree
Instagram for me isn’t an option anymore. I go on there to see what fun my friends are doing, only to end up looking at women with huge asses. Without me really knowing!
I deleted facebook, instagram and threads off my phone last week. My screen time has been way down and I’ve been way more productive.
Keep it up bro💪💪
True bro, life is what you make it. Here's to a speedy recovery 🙏
great video !!!
What was the podcast discussing tiktok? Thank you
Joe, I deleted social media in Dec, 2021 with the exception of YT. I haven't gone back since. I feel so present and conscious of my decisions now. My anxiety is significantly lower and I rarely experience FOMO. Well, FOMO might creep in at times but it's manageable. I'm 29, and I'm learning to take care of myself which never happened in all these years. 🧡💛 Bravo on your journey! 🙌
Love that 💪💪 social media only feels important when you're on it, once you're off you see it for what it is
Your segment about annoying your parents by reading books instead of sleeping was my early childhood too. I remember my parents would tell me they can hear me turn my light on to read another book all night.
Mine used to say that too! Crazy how they could hear the light switch but then couldn't hear me sneak out as a teenager hahaha
What is your favorite fictional book?
I think probably Dune was my favorite series, beautifully written. The story of the Silo series was gripping and I really enjoyed it but didn't come close to Dune in terms of writing. Other honourable mentions has to be American Gods and one hundred years of solitude. What about you?
I took a gap year befor my masters and this year I came back to uni, and found it impossible to focus. I coudn't study at all. Before that I tried many times to limite my screen time, but I'd always came back to scrolling. This time I stuck to it and I can finally focus and read books (<3) From time to time I still use insta to text some of my friends, but it's way better than before. I guess I need two more months to eliminate social media totally, and can't wait for it to happen :)
Sounds like you've been really proactive about it, keep it up 💪it's crazy how these things damage our attention spans
Yesssss Joe !!it’s that damn phone !!!
throw back to world book day
@@TyreeceGreen that little book shop that came to the school library hit different
I love reading a lot! It’s sad to see that the new generation doesn’t see that as well :( I used to read a lot of Geronimo Stilton’s books. Lately, I can’t even read one.
@@Epicgamer_7999 Wow Geronimo Stilton brings back a lot of memories for me! 🧀
@@JoeMambrodi oooo a fan perhaps?
How big is your 'to read' pile at any one time? I always find that if I have more than 2, maybe 3 books to read at most, then I feel really overwhelmed and just end up reading really fast to get to the next book until the last few chapters where I then want to slow it down and will sometimes avoid the book just to make it last in my head for longer. I loved fanfic for a long time 15-24 yo. And now, I love secret relationships/lives from any era, and murder or fostering books the most.
@@extrememinimalism I'm one of those controversial readers that usually has 3 books on the go at a time 😂 I 100% get what you mean about the reading list seeming too daunting/distracting though. I think you might like What Lies Between Us by John Marrs 📖
Anyone got any good book recommendations?
Would help to know what ya like. 😂
Geronimo Stilton, Pokémon Adventures.
@@extrememinimalism nonfiction I like business books (personal MBA, lean marketing) and fiction I really like sci-fi/ fantasy (Dune, Silo, red rising). I'll read anything though if it seems interesting. Recently I've started reading kingpin which is a true story about the dark web and the silk road but almost written like a fiction book.
@@JoeMambrodi hi there, I don't really read those genres, but I'd recommend Legends and Lattes if you like a cosy fantasy. If you want a book that might change you perspective on things, might I suggest Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo. I loved the writing style and the way the story was build. (You might want to check some content warnings, though). Another one I love is a collection of short stories; "Send N*des" by Saba Sams (hope yt doesn't flag that oops). Again, writing is great (also again, maybe check content warnings). Both these books focus pretty heavily on the female experience is different situations. This is the first video of yours that I've come across, so I hope I guessed the vibes right and you might be interested in those topics too. (If not, apologies, I'll pack my bags and leave haha).
Thanks man. I've been on a route to fail med school because of my phone addiction. You are a great part of me getting my shit together

I don't usually comment on videos but I have to say that I am really motivated by your videos . iam in process of social media detox challenge it's just been two days and I realised the amount of addiction I do have towards social media but on the other hand I feel quite calm and focus on myself a lot. Thanks a lot for posting this quality content it really helps me during my social media detox journey!!!!
Thank you! And carry on with the detox, I hope you smash it!
I will seriously consider getting the lightphone 3 when it comes out. I think having a very limited dumb phone that comes with useful tools like maps, music etc might be helpful
I'll have to look into that, I currently use Olauncher and lots of app timers which does a similar thing
I only have youtube and im still addicted to my phone. I dont miss Facebook expect for selling, and I dont miss Instagram or Pinterest. And before that, Tumblr or Bebo or whatever else ive been on. I dont miss dating sites or weheartit. I dont really feel the need for Runescape or HabboHotel. Porn and reddit is neither here or there for me. Serves a 10 minute purpose. 😅 But i struggle with binge watching tv series and youtube and right now, among us, the game.
One should find something else to replace an addiction. Find that thing which is good for you, gym or running, or collecting something of value, or writing.
acceptance is the first step

A friend once shared with me that he thinks transhumanism will lead to the 'ends times' as predicted in the Bible; When the time will come people will seek death but will not be able to die. With A.I and other technological advancement I'm starting to think my friend was right, as it seems one day we humans just might become in some ways immortal through technological advancement.... I don't think a bot could come up with this 😅

Very informative video, im sure that taste of ham was amazing. I think taking a step back and letting your body reset defo has its benefits. Anyway what about a 8 day fast then?
Not a chance 😂
I find it a good supplement to an hour a day of comprehensible input.
