The mud covered guys i think is staged, just a bunch of probably oil based mud to look so black because the size of well head they are dealing with would not be used on the top of that kind of well. Moreover, the amount of "Mud" would come from an amount of pressure unable to be stopped by the 2 people plus the guy with the camera let alone the well head itself
