I worked at commercial remodeling and my boss wanted me to estimate what it would cost for us to replace 8 large glass skylights that were all 10 stories above a hotel's lobby. I told him to pass on it, as none of us had the experience or the tools. He bid anyway, but was underbid by almost 50%. The winning bidder ended up dropping the very first slab of glass all the way down to the lobby, because they didn't have the correct tools either. Luckily no one was hurt, but that's when the hotel found out they didn't have insurance either! They also didn't speak any English!

The "extra fuel tank" is also known as a 'drop tank' because it's meant to be dropped off the plane once it's empty. Not quite sure what that net is on, but if it's on the carrier that just launched the plane then yes, the tank was dropped prematurely. However, we shouldn't assume it was a technician's error. There are controls in the plane to release it, so it could have been pilot error.
