I won't write an essay, but I truly feel that only men have pretty privilege. a Woman's pretty privilege is really the result of sexual objectification, and social climbing (being attracted to pretty women platonically as a way of gaining social capital)

People automatically assume I'm "rude" or "stuck up" simply due to the way I look and it also doesn't help that I take hard classes in school and am very independent 😬 especially when I got dumped by my bf of 2 yrs, people say things like "she probably deserved it just look at her" or even "girls like that act like they're the shit, I can tell by looking at her" it's kind of depressing i get judged simply due to my looks even though I'm a naturally quiet individual :/

Ok so I know I’m conventionally attractive - large blue/green eyes, shiny dark hair, slim figure, small nose, etc. And like I never used to be pretty as a young kid (ig a glow up??) so I experienced both sides. As an ugly kid when I was like 10, I *did* hear the remarks about my appearance, a girl whispered to someone calling me ugly and it’s stuck w me like no compliment can EVER fix the damage of mean words I heard as a child :( I grew up knowing I was kinda unattractive and instead focused on schoolwork (cause I didn’t wanna be ugly AND dumb 😭) but then I turned 12/13 and my face kinda changed 🤷🏻‍♀️ like now in secondary school, I was modelling for my class in a school fashion show and people compliment me on a regular basis and people literally buy me lunch telling me I’m cute. But on the other hand, people in my class literally hate me. Like literally, I have an RBF and people think I’m really conceited and bratty which sucks because I’m really extroverted and loud and people js don’t want to talk to me?? A lot of people think I must be super happy with myself and all but no. I’m still the ten year old girl who was told she’s ugly, that she “couldn’t smile nicely in pictures” (stuck w me and now I can’t even be in photos because of fear) that she needed to be smart and talented to get anywhere because that “goddamn ugly face” wouldn’t help me. People think I have no insecurities and that life is a blessing but it’s not. For starters, I’m really pale and look like a ghost, my undereyes are thin (genetic dark circles) so I always look tired, I look sad and pissed all the time bc of my resting face, AND I’m tall. So there’s the insecurity part 😀 I also now feel pressure to be something I, and nobody else on Earth, is. Perfect. So my family are pretty sure I am either autistic or have ADHD (or both) and I’m really weird. Not the cute quirky different weird but like a genuinely socially-awkward-painful-to-watch-really-annoying kinda weird. And don’t get me wrong, I WANT to be a pretty girl, but being renounced to just my looks, or having to pretend like I’m not a mentally unstable bipolar freak who isn’t a kind sunshine “pretty”girl all the freaking time is really annoying. Ofc my experience is different to that of those who were always considered pretty as a kid but just sharing. ❤ stay safe everyone

My Dad tried explaining this to me when I was younger before my first job interview, but instead encouraged me to “play down my looks” in the workplace so I wouldn’t have to deal with jealousy. I couldn’t help but think “why can’t people do some reflection and not be jealous assholes”

Recently, I was told I spend too much, yet the person who said this has benefited from my kindness and so has their family. I just don't understand why people are very happy to accept kindness. However, at a later date, it's like they say something discouraging. I"ve now decided to pull my kindness back and spend less time with them. People have too much to say for themselves.

I'm still dealing with this at age 61 and have been dealing with this my whole life; without the knowledge to understand it or words to describe it. My mom was not as beautiful and did not realize how much pressure was put on me to do sexual things at a young age. So she didn't protect me. She told me to be flattered when men stared at me or complimented me. Being nice to men got me into so much trouble. Trouble that I am too petite and frail to free myself from. My dad fucked and fled. So I had no father to watch over me to protect me from boys and men. I wish this video, or anything else like it, had been available when I was 12. That's when my mother put me on birth control to protect me and herself, because she had to work 2 jobs to keep a roof over our heads and wasn't around to give me adult supervision. Even at age 59 while I was jogging on the sidewalk in a very public park, a van pulled up and parked a little way ahead of me and a fat man jumped out, and opened the rear doors and was waiting to grab me when I got close enough. I saw him waiting there on me, so I turned and ran in the opposite direction. I've almost been snatched up off the street 4 times during my life. I'm so lucky to have avoided being taken, to still be free, and to even be alive. So few humans have ever cared what happens to me and so many humans have only wanted to control me or see harm done to me. I know life had to have been much harder on attractive women who lived before me, because they couldn't keep their car doors locked and therefore were undoubtedly used and abused whenever they ever went anywhere alone. They just couldn't have ever gone anywhere alone or ever been alone without being raped. Even today, we all hear about men whom women had trusted and fell in love with, becoming batterers. I grew up with a step-father who would weekly beat my mother or me. Many men become so angry at a woman who won't accept his advances. Many men feel entitled and seem to believe that women are supposed to give themselves freely to whatever man pays them a compliment or some positive attention. I just want to be allowed to live in the skin I was born in - without being objectified and commodified.ather who would weekly beat my mother or me.
