This was a really healthy heart chat Leanne. I feel that women our age in the UK have caught on to this new view of life. There are so many voices in the US on this topic, which is amazing but I think more UK voices are needed x So much fun!!!!! I got a lump in my throat when you said "I decided to turn my back on that (Instagram) world". I deleted Instagram a few years ago and turned to homemade and thrifted instead. I just listened to your video in the car - on my way back from the charity shop. Ive been picking up the odd whisky glass when I see them to use as candle holders - nice heavy base and the light through the cut glass is stunning. Thifting & frugality has opened up another world!!! Lovely lovely video x Also....LOVE the longer videos x

Loves this video Leanne! So nice to get to know you more. I can't believe people want to buy things over spending time with their families it blows my mind. I could definitely spend less and hoping your videos will help me along the way. I would love to see more in-depth budget videos, food videos and also videos on how you are making space so for example the shoe rack your husband built for ideas and inspiration and i really like the longer videos. You would be a great at a budget/how to make your money work for you kind of account on Instagram if you ever wanted to go back xx

This was a great video Leanne! It's nice to get to know you better. You're so relaxed and happy in your new home, and it shines through. I have to watch frugality videos to tame my spending, too. We're debt free and are in a place where we have more to spend than when we were raising children. It's not hard to spend on frivolous things. I have to be mindful to only spend on things that we truly need or will enrich our life.

Good morning, Leanne. I have recently discovered your channel & I find it very informative & inspirational. I've always been good with money as I've never had anyone to fall back on if I do get into debt. My parents lived from paycheck to paycheck week in week out with no savings, so I couldn't borrow from them growing up. Now I'm in my late 40's with my own responsibilities & family. I think it actually did me a favour. We also downsized 6yrs ago & are now mortgage free & the feeling is amazing. ❤ saying that i do feel like I am a bit mean with myself lately....so I'm going back to a question on this video about how polished you look (because you do) would you be able to do a little segment in your self care to inspire us ladies on a budget. ☺️ you have such a great presence by the way. You talking about Dave Ramsey gave me flashbacks! When I was 40, I was newly divorced with two boys to raise unsupported. The joint future I thought we would all have disappeared, and the baby steps helped me stop panicking. So did tracking my spending for a few months. Within the next ten years, I worked my way through the baby steps and investigated a thing called FIRE. I downsized too, and relocated somewhere cheaper to live, which let me go self employed. Now I get to do what I love every day, and retirement no longer scares me. Everything you say is right. Time is more valuable than any amount of stuff. Time with family, and with yourself. Health is the real wealth. Financial freedom lets me choose to have less stress in my life, which as you say, goes hand-in-hand with having less stuff to manage. Next October, I will pay off my mortgage 11 years early. That means I'll get to help my sons even more as they establish themselves as adults. I wish I could go back in time and give past-me a cuddle and tell myself that everything would be okay for us. I bet this channel will do that for so many viewers who might be looking at their lives and wondering 'how do I get out of this hole?' Keep going!

I highly recommend using OneNote for recipes. I have it on my iPad and have sub-folders for main courses, desserts, starters and soups, baking and Christmas. I take photos using my iPad of recipes in magazines and cookery books and add them to OneNote that way. I also have links to recipes on websites such as Good Food. It’s so good as all my recipes are in one place and really helps with weekly menu planning. I can even check what I need for recipes on my phone whilst in the supermarket if I have a sudden change of plan. It’s a really good winter project to set it up and once done makes life so much easier.

First time Ive come across your videos. Im currently using Thrifty Lesley's meal planners (she has her own website and group on FB) The thing we struggle with as a family (all adults now) is getting things within budget, and that we all eat. I hate waste, especially when budgets are tight.

I wouldn't class store cupboard and milk in the total. As these last much longer than a week and milk is an essential. So I think you did amazingly xx

Great, I'd eat all of it! If I do egg and chips, I make spaces among the chips and break the eggs in, then back in the oven for 4 or 5 minutes. They come out perfectly, have you tried it?

Yes please I’d like to see how to make lattes. We use a mix of supermarkets, Aldi is a fraction closer than Lidl and I like certain products that I need frequently, but can only get some things at the big brand supermarkets. Just starting to try Lidl as we use it in other countries…and I like pastel de nata! 😀

Loving your content! But those channel 5 films are the worst!

Vlog format is great, really enjoy them. I think the green on the bedroom wall looks lovely with the wood tones of the wardrobes and window frames, as well as your rattan shade. After saying I didn't need any more Christmas decorations I did splash out £4.50 on two items from the charity shop this weekend.
