Let's Face It #92
#tray #neon #face
I've had this mould for a while and decided it was time to create a piece using it. Am I sure how this is going to turn out? No. I am trying something a little different by using a darker pigment paste with neon mica powder brushed onto the mould. Let's hope it is a success. We won't know until it comes out of the mould.

If I do this again, will definitely have to have a better plan. As for the mix2mold. You won't find it at Michaels anymore. You can buy from Amazon.com. I have seen a couple of items on Amazon.ca but the prices are nuts. I don't understand the prices put on some things on Amazon.ca. Best bet is to order through Amazon.com if you want more. That is probably what I will do at some point.

I agree with the person who suggested putting wire in the weaker areas. Like they put rebar in a concrete structure to reinforce it. Copper might be good. Or a thicker gauge jewelry wire. It has a potential for so many applications. Or just use regular resin. That would be easier to color also. I commend your dedication to finishing with all your skills and talents.

lol I would have binned it!! In saying that my suggestions are: a piece of wire in the sled part to give it more strength; leave it overnight before demoulding; could you loosen the cut outs with the end of a mini applicator. But you’re not doing that mould again 😜. Kudos for your perseverance and patience 💚🇦🇺

The runners are too shallow and the ceramic resins do not perform well in shallow pieces, they are made to make bulky pieces. On the white one, yes do the entire runner front and back in uv resin. I believe oil based paints are best to paint the ceramic resins with, I watch Steve McDonald and that is what he uses. They did turn out well considering they were only breaking in that one spot, I have watched a lady have half of her piece crumble because the mold was too shallow that she used. -Beverly

I don't believe anyone else has reviewed the mixer in regards to adding paste or powder, at least no one I've seen. I absolutely loved what you was doing on both sides. 1you made me remember a set of funky pouring tools similar to those you have. I had forgotten about them so I’m going to dust them off and try your brilliant idea. 2 I immediately located and brought the puzzle pieces mold from Temu because I must have a go at that too. I want to thank you for doing this project. I won’t be doing both techniques on one piece probably. In not that brave. But I will have a go and mention you in my video as the inspiration for the art. Cheers my friend.

I really like both sides, but if I had to choose a side, I would choose the mosaic side and ensure that it is level. Beautiful work -Beverly

I’m with you! I love the fall! Still watching the vid😊. Status quo here. Been to New England to visit relatives but I’m retired so every day is a holiday 🤣. It’s adorable!
