Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi), Yamada and the Unspoken
I think otherwise Lelouch started a rebellion and decided to kill those who hid in his family and empire's shadows.
I personally liked the ending of ep 13. Cut at Reina's line, roll the credits and music, and the epilogue just there to answer a question left open. Adding more/replacing the slideshow would kill the momentum imo, that's for an extra episode like S1 did (shoutout Oregairu Kan OVA I'll always white knight for it) 10th anniversary crossing my fingers re: performances, I think having only the Nationals adapted works to build up suspense, especially for the audition with Mayu. I think if there's already an adapted Kumiko performance and the Mayu performance didn't get on screen my brain would have connected the dots.
S3 actually reminded me quite a bit of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo with everything going on in it, from Mayu's past to Kumiko's arc (thinking about it the Kanade scene in Chikai also ties into that impression). Bonus being Jukki Hanada being credited with script on some episodes there also. p.s mizore = mashiro
KyoAni hasn't had problems "adjusting" LN canon in the past, they had every opportunity to kick Shuichi to the curb (or, alternatively, develop the romance into something marginally believable). Disappointed by that element, but overall I was impressed by S3. A lot of great anime end up dropping the ball at the end, but Sound! Euphonium nailed it.
a term I like to use for characters like these two is "necessary evil" it's not that they want to march their friends to their death or slay them themselves, become mass killers of the public populace, or war criminals, but it was what they deemed necessary for the present circumstance of the land they reside in
they should kiss
An interesting thing I'd like to add is that with Yuuko the most conventionally competent leader, that year was a failure but the year they had a soft loving timid pres who solved things by being true and vulnerable, they made the miracle run, and ofc what do we get in S3? Kumiko taking Harukas approach but to the next lvl. Kinda shows what type of leadership the show values. There's also a bit of mirroring between the 3 of Kumiko/Haruka, Reina/Asuka and Shuichi/Kaori.
Still need to finish the vid but wanted to say thanks for sharing your all's takes, really awesome to hear
The best ending would have been Hanneman finishing his research.
Holy shit i love that song that plays at the start.
@@Die-Coughman its from a silent voice
@@subtitledanime I know. I'm a huge fan of kensuke ushio/agraph. I just wasn't expecting to hear it in this video.
Shuichi did play a role in bringing Mamiko and Kumiko together in season 2. It was him who told Mamiko that Kumiko has always adored her and picked up eupho because of her.
Season 2 episode 9 is still my favourite of the show.
I want to watch this so bad but I have to watch the whole anime first T_T
What an amazing 2.5 hours you guys! Please, please make a vlog or at least a couple of shorts of your pilgrimage to Uji! I'm off to watch your previous pod next ;)
The whole thing about meritocracy: Kumiko asserts that kitauji is a meritocracy the entire time, and that it’s more important to stand by it, than worry about “emotional baggage.” Yet Taki makes the move to have an extra tuba and even says they can just not play the more difficult parts. Is this not a contradiction? Are they not saying, we are a meritocracy, unless that holds us back from “the goal we decided on at the beginning of the year”?
@@fredericmozart959 its not because its about trying to win. The goal is to win goal and the idea it make sure they have the best blend of skills possible yo reach that. Thats the merit in the meritocracy. Their merit it to win gold
@@subtitledanime thats not what meritocracy is. That’s not what kumiko argues for the entire time. She specifically argues that the best players should play.
@@fredericmozart959 the best players to give them the best chance to win. I dont think its that complicated
@@subtitledanime you’re saying that it’s a meritocracy, but only within a class, or in this case an instrument. Which I understand to a degree. The band needed more bass, so he picked swapped in another tuba. Simple, and fine. What I’m saying is though: That’s a slippery slope and quite the grey area. We’re sacrificing a good player, for one that they’re explicitly saying is inept at playing parts of the music. At some point, this idea of meritocracy falls apart, and it’s not really addressed.
I'm exactly like UTS now, seeing the show that I've been watching and waiting for 4 or 5 years end is both and devastating This show is just a masterpiece Edit: 38:45 I believe that considering how good of a player and how close of a friend she is midori probably was able to diferentiate between the two aswell

Novels reader here: None of the endings is better than the other. Both add something unique to the franchise. Novels finale is very satisfying, it gives the readers what they've been waiting for after 10+ years following the series. Anime finale has this grittiness, it's even painful to watch but gives the characters so much room to grow. I like them both and I'm so grateful to have been able to experience this awesome series. I just love Eupho so much.
@@jjaaoo so excited to read
Non-novel reader here. The anime’s ending is better.
@@subtitledanime Let's hope they get official translations soon.
I think the reason the recordings for the soli re auditions being so close came down to personal preference between passion and criteria. You can tell Kumiko’s performance is more focused on being more expressive as her pitch and articulation is more flexible which is why you hear the duration of notes being played being slightly off by the tiniest of margins, thus standing out next to Reina’s part. Mayu’s performance is slightly more technical however as she backs off her expressive approach in favor of technicality in the piece itself supporting Reina’s part making it sound slightly more balanced. In concert bands, judges will be far more harsher in judging that technical and balanced side in performances and rarely ever give leeway for expressiveness IF it simultaneously detracts from the original intent of the composer’s idea of how they wrote the piece to be played (and what is written in the sheet music). Which is what Kumiko’s audition did, even if it was so close to the point that you couldn’t tell because of how equally talented both of them were. It’s just that Reina probably knew that those tiny margins could easily make the difference from getting Gold or failing to another school.
Who is fan translating the novels? I think this season i needed to wait till everything is released, and then binge

my prediction at the national competition, Kyoani will create a condition where Kumiko unconsciously plays the solo part.
Jokes on ya, Kumiko would be a teacher/instructor soon. Reina on the other hand would pursue her music career in America. They'd probably not meet for a long time. But their future selves would cross again, hopefully. P.S. Would love to also see the future of both Kaori-senpai, Asuka-senpai, Mizore-senpai, Nozomi-senpai and even Mayu. Edit: the S3 opening has lyrics saying "Crying because I was so frustrated it felt like I might die." which directly corelates to Kumiko's emotional breakdown during EP12 of S3.
okay here's a thing... neither the kingdom nor the alliance had a rampant crest corruption... it was primarily the empire that had such full scale corruption, the church in way forced the crest system so the issue seems to have been the empire internally in the first place... but Edelgard blamed the church Then ironically her new system propogates the very tragedy she was subjected to, in fact strictly speaking it's the very same system as the Brittanian empire goes by
Yes they do wtf are you talking about? The kingdom literally relies on crests and heros relics in order for their military to function and the alliance values creat nobles all 3 nations have created corruption it just seems worse in the empire because twsitd are in control of it buts it's a problem for everyone and this is stated in game by multiple people and is never debunked by anyone , she blamed the church because without them the crest system literally wouldn't exist because it's literally based on Divine right . No it doesn't and no it isn't seriously if your just some weird Dimitri stain who's desperate to prove edelgard was actually wrong when the game tells you multiple times that she's not .
Lelouch became evil to defeat the greater evil then sacrificed himself to end the cycle Edelgard started a revolution to fix injustices she perceived staining her hands with evil and continuing to perpetuate the bloody cycle, how long till someone will attempt to overthrow her regime for whatever imperfection they see... how many uprisings will she have to put down to secure "peace" I think they have similar ideologies but with an ideology like this, how intelligent you are means everything... Lelouch was a brilliant mind that played the world like a chess board... Edelgard was a fool, simply a pawn in the Agarthan's game, falling for their own propaganda despite them being the ones that killed her family hook line and sinker
I agree with this sentiment. Code Geass establishes how Lelouch intended for the leadership to be continued after his death. The leaders he puts in there have a chance to sway the hearts of people and support them instead of other elites. 3H has not established Edelgard to be this thorough. We do not see how she handles either the Agarthans nor whether she can even control her own corrupt nobility. Maybe if the game did a better job showing these things, I could have seen them in a similar light.
Edelgard fell for no propaganda edelgard hates the church for her own reasons they didn't make her hate it and she gets rid of twsitd as well so what exactly is your point? Also most of CF endings are peaceful other routes have more conflict in several ed cards seems like your just biased and blinded by it .
@@thatoneblackdude3333 realism says more wars is inevitable for edelgard And yes she does, she gives accounts of history based off how the slithers describe it rather than the actual history As far as the slithers go there’s a logical fallacy that says just because something ended well doesn’t mean it was a smart decision. Imagine someone played a game where they put in $100, 1% odds they get $1000 out and 99% odds they go down to $10. Now on average this is a really horrible bet, where on average you’d lose 80% of the money put in. But they happen to get lucky and win. Does that make them making that bet any less of a bad decision? No. Cause just cause they did work out was simply luck. Same holds true with the slithers for all intents and purposes, they can nuke Enbarr and then also kamikazee their own base to kill Edelgard and Byleth when they raid. Either one of these would horribly destabilize the country. Yes it doesn’t say in the end credits anything like that happens (though it noticeably doesn’t say that they won or that they won without significant loss only that they started that battle) but whether they did or didn’t doesn’t change they had nukes and Edelgard knew that but decided taking on Rhea was more important That’s setting aside in 3/4 of the routes she already has Rhea but continues the war to conquer the other nations Also it does not say in either other route there is continued violence
@@megarotom1590 imagine applying realism to a fire emblem game. No she doesn't nowhere does edelgard say her history came from twsitd she says it came from her own family history nobody actually knows what happened because of Rhea . Edelgard didn't know they had nukes just because she was working with them doesn't mean she knew everything about them , which do you think is a smarter strategy take out the weaker opponent so you can do it yourself in a better position to take out the stronger one ? Or antagonize the stronger one who has more control of your territory then you do and could kill you at any moment and would cause a civil war you'd likely lose ? It says In other routes though Felix that there's tons of work for him as a mercenary meanwhile there is stated to be less work for mercenary's it's not rocket science.

I think your guess is right because I'm a fan of kumirei 💖
Can someone please tell me which episode kikuhiko was performing as a woman?
no spoilers please, my money is kumiko becoming a music teacher/conductor
waa nice guess
I feel like there is lot of bad takes here. Let's start with Lelouch (because it's much shorter story). He did everything for revenge. He was only using revolution for his goal. He ultimately sacrificed himself for redemption. He went from villain to hero, but just because he were able make right decisions in end doesn't he was in right whole time (but yes Black knights did fight for right cause. That's not even question) Everything said about El here is basically wrong. She didn't suffer by hands of church, nobility or even crest system. She suffered lot, but throwing blame on wrong target never helped anything. Heck in Empire church has literally zero power as it was kicked out and as Emperor she had all power to change political landscape (especially as she has support of two mightiest families of nation). And honestly status quo wasn't that bad in Fodlan and there is no guarantees it will be better under her rule. Especially as she believes that everything will be fine just by destroying old order, without idea what it should be replaced with.
Spoilers: Kumiko becomes a teacher and is hinted to be married to Shuichi. Reina goes to the states to pursue her music.
