    Do we have to apply the motto spray first or the motto grease?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, thanks for your question, The Moto Grease is a concentrated version of the Moto Spray, used before the spray to provide a thicker coat on any areas you know to be rust prone or water prone areas, to provide that little extra protection. No need to wait for it to cure-apply the spray directly over it. Hope this answers your question

      @Lanoguard 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, thanks for your question, Lanoguard is generally inert and doesn’t disturb any existing coatings on your vehicle. All that said, it is important to ensure that any existing coating is stable, adhered well and if cures like paint that it isn't cracked. If the surface you apply Lanoguard too is any of these things, then it is possible that parts /chips/bits of the existing surface coating could come off taking the Lanoguard with it. It is advisable to ensure it is sound first and once applied, a month later, check that the surface is still solid and nothing is exposed. If you notice any spots where you missed or where existing old coating has come away, then you can simply spray over that area again.Hope this helps

Our products bond well to surfaces, including those with existing treatments like anti-seize copper grease. This will help provide an additional layer of protection without the need for extra work. Just ordered a kit for my 1996 Celica! However I was just wondering, some people advise washing the underside regularly over the winter months to remove any salt picked up from the roads. Is this safe to do with an existing lanoguard coating or does it wash off easily? Or is the lanoguard coating sufficient on its own without any washing in the winter months. Thankyou :)

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, When Lanoguard is fully dry it has a candle wax feel it does not dry solid like paint would. It’s a non-curing coat which we developed, allowing it the properties it has, such as self-healing, no cracking, non-evaporating etc. It is also jet wash resistant 3000psi therefore you can jet wash the salt, dirt and road grit off, but the Lanoguard will stay in place doing its job. I hope this answers your question, Jen

    It's more to do with the salt they chuck on the roads! Same climate in Japan but no salt used, hardly any corrosion in comparison.

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi, yes salt is a issue especially in winter, Lanoguard when applied provides a complete hermetic seal on the surface, therefore so no oxygen or water can get in. Hence no more rusting process can take place as the product also chemically bonds to the metal. Without moisture and oxygen present at the surface, salt is harmless. Interestingly, due to Lanoguard bonding to the metal surface, over time it can also push salts to the surface. We discovered this in a research project with the University of Brighton, in which Lanoguard was sprayed over salt-sprayed metal. It was found that as the Lanoguard cured and became attracted to the metal, the saline solution was pushed away from the metal - leaving it sitting on top of the Lanoguard coating. In a practical sense, this means that Lanoguard can draw out any salt deposits left on the underbody, and you can simply jet wash these off to keep the coating clean. Hope this is useful, Jen

    So what happens when all the over spray gets into your paint work ?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Lanoguard will not harm or damage your paint work. If you need to remove over spray if you have recently applied Lanoguard and it has not cured, then just buff it off with a cloth. If you need to remove all traces thoroughly then a citrus based cleaner and warm water will remove any overspray or use our Lanoguard Remover. You can also use a general car polish which will also remove it. However, we do not recommend using Lanoguard remover on ceramic paint. We would recommend simply buffing off with a cloth for any overspray that has settled on your paint work. Hope this answers your question, Jen

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes, the Lanoguard Remover can be used to fully strip off Lanoguard when it is fully cured. Be mindful that Lanoguard Remover will remove ceramic coatings. When removing fully cured coat/s of Lanoguard, the product should be sprayed on to the area, give a simple even coating and leave it for 5 minutes to dwell to work its magic. Then jet wash it off and it will take the old Lanoguard with it. If it is a thick coat of Lanoguard or more than one coat you may need to repeat this process. Please do contact us at info@lanoguard.co.uk or give us a call on 0330 100 1959 if you would like any further information. Thanks, Jen

    The Lanoguard adverts shown are totally misleading, yes lanoguard will probably help protect a vehicle from rusting if it is applied to clean surfaces, it is a waste of time and money using it like they show in their adverts and making it look easy, one advert shows a guy bending down and spraying under the wheel arch of a car and saying it's a peace of cake doing this he obviously has no idea. The big problem is getting every square mm of the vehicle under body clean before you start to spray it with Lanoguard, and don't be fooled when the say this can be done by jet washing, a jet wash will only clean what it is aimed at, the only way to clean every part is by dismantling the car. this is what they do not show in their adverts and is misleading.

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      H John, When preparing a car prior to Lanoguarding we do recommending cleaning it with a jet wash to remove and dirt and grime as well as removing any loose/flaking rust or previous coatings. Lanoguard is absolutely happy to be applied over sound and stable surface rust, as well as over previous underseal coatings or treatment. Lanoguard won’t convert existing rust per se, instead it will arrest and completely stop its further development. This is due to Lanoguard natural attraction to ferrous metal. It will seep and creep underneath surface rust and create a hermetic seal to the metal below, stopping oxygen and water getting in. Please have a look at our user group which has over 18,000+ members who have tried and tested Lanoguard over the past few years and are always happy to share their experiences and answer any questions. There have also been many discussion about jet washing prior to apply between members which you may find of interest., - facebook.com/groups/lanoguardusers I hope you find this of interest,

    Is there a poit of using this on parts that have already rusted?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Yes, Here’s a little background on how Lanoguard handles rust. Lanoguard will not crack like paint, it is self-healing and is constantly creeping, remaining active to continuously repel moisture and keep it away from the metal surface. Additionally, a side benefit of Lanoguard’s hermetically sealing ability is that over time it will push existing oxidation off. As a result of all this, the surface you apply it to, ends up looking a little better too, over time. When applied over sound surface rust Lanoguard will darken areas of rust and reduce the vibrancy too. The Lanoguard sprays are almost clear when being applied. This result in a transparent coating which is a semi-matte wet look which enhances whatever colour is under it, being transparent allows you to clearly see that rust isn’t forming on the surface, Hope this helps to explain how Lanoguard deals with rust. Jen

    Thanks very much for this very useful video! I just collected my brand new Jimny Commercial yesterday and have ordered the large kit to do it and my other car. Just wondering can the spray be used on the Steel wheels that's on the Jimny if they are taken off and sprayed away from the brake discs?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thanks for your comment and great to hear your will be applying Lanoguard to your Jimny and your other car. Lanoguard can be applied to the steel wheels we would recommend either spray on and then wipe off any excess with a mutton cloth or spray on a mutton cloth and wipe over to ensure only a very then layer is applied. Lanoguard is thixotropic meaning it has continual creep and dries to a clear candle wax texture and when hotter it becomes more tacky and due to this dirt from the road etc can stick to the Lanoguard, although the dirt etc can be jet washed off and the Lanoguard will stay in place doing its job. I hope this helps answer your question and please do email us at info@lanoguard.co.uk if you would like any more information or have and further questions, Jen

      The issue turned out to be significant sediment in the 2 litre container clogging the filter. After straining the Lanoguard it sprays ok. Just delayed me by two hours messing around.

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andrewwatts7804 Hi, I apologise that you had to filter the Moto Spray therefore delaying the time your Lanoguard application took. If the Lanoguard has been left for a period of time prior to use it will gain settlement within the container so we do suggest giving it a good shake to agaiate the contents. Glad you were able to finish your Lanoguard treatment, thanks, Jen

      Hi, I would suggest having a search in your local area for anywhere that rents ramps or ramp space? We are near Brighton and I know there are a couple of places around us that offer this so this is one idea. Another idea would be to see if any friends have any ramps you could borrow? You could purchase your own as Lanoguard is a yearly application you would get use from them again. We do also have application centres that apply Lanoguard for you, here is a link to our application centre map - www.lanoguard.co.uk/pages/application-centres I hope this is helpful, Jen

    How much are you heating the fluid up ? i found the hand sprayer didnt want to cope with the viscosity of the fluid , maybe it needed to be warmer than i had it ...

      Hi, If applying in the cold at ambient temperatures of less than 10 degrees, we would recommend placing the Lanoguard Spray in a warm room ahead of application or standing on a bucket of warm water prior to and whilst applying to aid easy application. Please do drop us an email at info@lanoguard.co.uk or give us a call on 0330 100 1959 and we would be more than happy to see if we can help, thanks, Jen

    Five months after applying Lanoguard on the underneath of my Landcruiser the garage sent me a video of the underneath as part of its major service. The application was still well in place, with no visible rust and all the water from their powerhose beading off. This was following the removal of a lot of rust surface rust (including some flaking) from the thick frame of the car, so I am hoping that yearly or six monthly top ups will make the car last much longer than compared to the state of rust it was in before the application. Protection from a winter of Scottish road salt will have been worth it at the very least. Oh and lastly, the garage said they couldn't see any issues due to the lanoguard, which will be encouraging when it goes for its MOT just in case it is a sticky beak at the MOT!

      Hi, Whilst Lanoguard is a safe product to handle, use and the environment in which its used, it’s recommended that a user wears basic PPE such as a face mask and goggles when working on an underbody and applying Lanoguard, being that it often means finding yourself in a restricted space and place of small falling debris and working upside down looking up! Hope this helps

    What about applying into the factory undercoating? Mine has the rubber/bitumen based undercoating that's from the factory. Can i apply it so it penetrated the old cracked underseal and keeps the water and salt away?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, yes, Lanoguard is generally inert and doesn’t disturb any existing coatings on your vehicle. All that said, it is important to ensure that any existing coating is stable, adhered well and isn't cracked. If the surface you apply Lanoguard too is any of these things, then it is possible that parts /chips/bits of the existing surface coating could come off taking the Lanoguard with it. It is advisable to ensure it is sound first and once applied, a month later, check that the surface is still solid and nothing is exposed. If you notice any spots where you missed or where existing old coating has come away, then you can simply spray over that area again. I hope this is helpful

    Do i need to remove the lanoguard if it has a layer of dust over it before applying a topup coat, also putting it in the chassis rails do i need to blow them out with compressed air first, and what about subsequent dust build up in the chassis rails after applying the lanoguard

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Prior to topping up we suggest jet washing the area. Lanoguard jet wash resistant 3000psi therefore you can jet wash the dirt and road grit off, but the Lanoguard will stay in place also any you have any stubborn dirt etc you can use a soft brush - like a dustpan and brush to help remove it. When it comes to injecting into the chassis rails any prep such as blowing them with compressed air first to help remove any build up is a good idea. When it comes to topping up the chassis rails if you can jet wash to remove any dust etc and leave to dry that would be beneficial. Lanoguard as it cures will displace water, however we do not recommend applying to wet areas but slightly damp is ok. Lanoguard is a natural product which is broken down by exposure to ultraviolet light and oxygen within the air, therefore the Lanoguard will last longer in chassis rails etc as their is less exposure. I hope this is helpful,

      Hi, Lanoguard is made to be as safe to the user and environment in which its used, in and won't harm flora, fauna or marine life. Furthermore, we make the base from as much bio and sustainable resources as we can. Some user wears basic PPE such as a face mask and goggles when working on an underbody and applying Lanoguard, being that it often means finding yourself in a restricted space and place of small falling debris and working upside down looking up but it is a personal choice! Did it smoke after you applied it to the muffler?

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Lanoguard is a safe product to handle and to use. It is jet-wash resistant, non-perishing, non-conductive and non-flammable. It is safe to use on electrics, rubbers, and plastics and even the exhaust issue (meaning when using Lanoguard no masking up is needed). Lanoguard works well on hot surfaces because it doesn’t evaporate. For exhaust it will burn off excess on areas that reach over 450 degrees but not smoke. The areas to avoid are the brake discs and pads, and if going in the engine the fan belt, you can, cover these if you prefer. Hope this helps

    • @Lanoguard
      @Lanoguard 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Lanoguard should always be the last product to be applied, however Lanoguard can be applied on top of painted surfaces or other existing products, it creates a barrier by hermetically sealing to the surface it is applied to, stopping water & oxygen from getting in. Ensure the prior product is cured to it final state before applying Lanoguard. I hope this helps,

The areas to avoid are the brake discs and pads, you can cover these if you prefer or shield them when spraying near, I hope this helps
