Such a criminally underrated game. The dark theme, the voice of the narrator, the music, everything.

HeartGold and SoulSilver represented Generation 4 well, along with Darkrai and Giratina. Pokémon Platinum had its redeeming qualities, especially with the early availability of Togekiss and Garchomp. However, I found the story, gyms, and towns to be frustrating and forgettable. The Elite Four was disappointing, with the only highlight being Cynthia, who provided a decent challenge and was a strong part of Generation 4.

Gen 4 sucks ass and every argument in its favor is either "distorted world" or "Cynthia" because the actual region and mon variety is abysmal. Hoen has a more varied environment in the first quarter of the game compared to the entirety of Sinnoh and the only reason why it's highly regarded is that its zoomers first pokemon game

Gen 1 was peak. No one kwows or ever heard of any pokemon after gen 2.

Yeah Gen 4 really felt like the last time they tried. I even tried the newer generations but between the lifeless sprites, easier battles, and stale plot themes Pokemon took a massive nosedive.

I feel Tekken 2 is the true emotional heart of the franchise at a base level. Clearly even Sakurai from smash thinks so as he chose to introduce Kazuya to the game with “emotionless passion”.

Bro tbh idk gen 4 started off mid with Diamond and Pearl. Platinum is a perfect game tho along with soul silver (aside from the level drop off)

subbed, really well paced genuinely funny presentation. hope to see the channel grow. i always come back to tekken 2 for the vibes; especially the ethereal, melancholic and ominous parts of the ost. great art direction + doomed character arcs and an intangible mystique helped this one age very well. later entries improved gameplay mechanics but there's a brash tone i don't feel as much. le nostalgia.

Why the insults and memes?

The physical/special split was great, the cross-gen evos were great, but I alwyas thought Sinnoh was a shit region, the worst introduced up until that point easily. HGSS on the other hand, ohh boy, what unbelievable games

I wish the developer team would create a tekken as 4 from time to time instead of spamming basically the same game over and over just to catering the hardcore fans This game was a breath of fresh air and unexpected change of direction even at the time of it's release. I know that the opinion of some fans even back then were very divided. For me T4 always felt like it tried so hard to be the a "Dead or Alive 3" clone than a Tekken... from a design and aesthetically standpoint it was a masterpiece

Seeing that pristine DS at the beginning of the video is so nostalgic. You can’t find them ANYWHERE. If you wanna by a DS system second hand it’s always a 3ds variant. And it’s usually the upright wedge form. I miss the DS so much. That was easily the most fun Nintendo product.

I certainly appreciated Origins for finally giving us the original Genesis trilogy AND CD together in one piece (plus COME ON, those Tyson Hesse animated bits are perfect in their own right), but yes, my memories with Mega Collection are part of why my early-mid teens were such a golden time for me.

ive been talking about how tekken 4 was the best game in the franchise for over a dacade to my friends who never played it. my jaw hit the floor when i found out the FGC considered it one of the worst. So refreshing to see another who loves and appreciates tekken 4 for what it is! gave us the best music in the series and best story hands DOWN. every single character has a reason for why theyre fighting so hard and we see and FEEL it within the game.

I thought the campaign was really good

Diamond/Pearl weren't that good to me but Platinum really saved Sinnoh. The slowness of Diamond/Pearl & a very limited roster were horrible. Fire types in particular suffered not to mention new evolutions & most Pokemon were post-game. Real shame that Nintendo is so against emulation/rom-hacks, unless they're doing & profiting from it, for old games as they really are a great way to improve/enjoy old games.

One small correction, it includes almost every Tekken 1 ost, Venezia's is not included due to no space left

Mega collection plus will always be better than the GameCube version imo. Better menus, more games, better menu music, better extras. MC Plus is just superior, don’t let nostalgia blind you from what’s actually better

this video is awesome in Many aspects but i'd suggest going a little less crazy on the saturation since it crushes the art direction of the game (for example, the scenes with jun make her look jaundiced lol). also, if you're gonna upscale the fmvs, try not to generate extra frames for them since it makes everything look worse overall. same with stretching to 16:9. other than that this is a pretty good video, you've a lot of potential! keep at it

Saying "Sonic Free" instead of 3 irks me way more than it should. You can make a whole new syllable if you just put your tongue between your teeth and just blow 😅 I try enjoyed the retrospective though.
