I was thinking the same, that the 1-1/2 inch was more than enough, but I just had to test it out. I like materials testing, even though I'm not sure how common lift charge failures are. I would assume the lower one would be more common?

They just melted and did not fuse the next ones. I even put zip ties on them to keep them held tight.

Yikes! A tube that big with concrete shrapnel would be crazy scary. Yeah, I've been curious on how common lift charge failures are. Outside of the tests I've done, I haven't personally experienced one, but I still like to perform tests to get a better image in mind for what could go wrong.

If the stand I have won't go much faster, then I might make a modified base with a drill attachment before I try looking for a new one. The single rack was more of the effect I was wanting, but I think a double rack has the potential to look just as good, if not better. That's a solid idea 👍

I appreciate the safety concerns. I try to take safety into consideration first before doing anything. I know people probably don't care for the roman candle holder for the same safety reasons you expressed. I am familiar with the potential for what could happen from the results of a video I have on the channel, that's why I don't recommend people do it. In the worst-case scenario of a blowout or chain reaction, I believe being one step removed from actually hand-holding it would provide the necessary time to throw the holder down, but I could be wrong. Regarding the concern with the rockets, I agree urban areas are maybe not a good idea. However, I think the land we have is adequate. Since the rockets were held at a 90° angle before launch and the wind was minimal, most of the sticks stayed at the launch site. Had there been more wind, I would have waited.

It's kind of hard to remember because I went to a few places. I think the total was like $2,500 on fireworks, not including the extra supplies.

Yeah, this surprised me. I didn't realize until after the fact that it had lodged the concrete plug from the tube into the dirt below.

They were pretty neat and louder than I expected. I've heard this style can be pretty squirrely but both flew pretty good for me

I'm trying to come up with some designs similar to the milk crate style to test out and see if I can build a safer version.

@@310fabrication , I just watched the various rack test video pretty crazy results. I do wonder would a pocket hole design provide any additional structural integrity. But Great videos very informative!

That's a very good question, I haven't tested pocket holes yet so I don't know for sure. My intuition says no but I could very well be wrong. Thank you! Trying to test out various design elements to find what I like the best.
