EP 07 CRT SS 7900 All Mode Power Tests
Does the CRT SS 7900 Power Meter Tell the truth on output power? We test all modes using a Rohde & Schwarz NRP8S Power Sensor!
Note: The power meter on the CRT 7900 averages power in both AM & SSB which reads lower than an actual power sensor in these modes

06 nanoVNA Saver Software & CB Aerial Tuning PT2
มุมมอง 9104 ปีที่แล้ว
Took a trip to Dunkery Beacon in Somerset near to Porlock & Minehead up in the hills to set up the Sirio 5000 with the nanoVNA Saver software on the laptop. Watch me faff around lengthening and shortening the antenna and the effects on the SWR / Bandwidth.
05 nanoVNA Saver Software & CB Aerial Tuning
มุมมอง 2K4 ปีที่แล้ว
A Further look at the nanoVNA and the nanoVNA Saver Software, making it easier to tune CB Antennas in the field. We check out the settings and easy calibration settings to make it an effortless tune up across the CB frequencies you want to use. We check out how to determine the bandwidth of the antenna and its performance. This is part 1 of 2, part 2 includes set up in the field and optimizing ...

SSB CB Radio UK CRT SS 7900 11 Meter Radio
มุมมอง 8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
My first test runs with the CRT SS 7900 10/11m Radio in a Mobile Installation
What’s the power output on SSB?
Cobra
They all sound goood…
The CRT ss 9900 and the CRT SS 7900 are both discontinued. But i have to say to all CB radio lovers to be very quick to pick one up because they are depleting very fast. Since the CRT SS 9900 V and CRT SS 8900 are becoming the new radios that are coming out together with the Radioddity QT80 Anytone AT 6666 Pro! Thanks for the review!
be safe and use a 15 amp
The standard microphone is definitely the best in USB 🤷🏽♂️ It's like this on my 9900 too!
Dx 27 is better than all these whips
Your hands in the way on the left hand side so you cant see just what your pressing....Shame cause not a bad video.............
I thought the radio mic sounded the best
Looking at ssb. \cb radio to set up use car mobile.
Stick with the standard mic, as the others sound distorted.
When using the kpo mic should you switch dynamic or EL ?????
dynamic
The KPO DEFINITELY.THANKS FOR DOING THIS TEST.
3 years later....but I would say when coms are clear, the Cobra mic is easier on the ears, and over all clarity is better due to the deeper tone. If you are talking skip with a lot of back ground noise, then the K-Po's sharper tone will then make that one easier to pick out. Just my opinion
it's simple, can't you see that it doesn't have the power turned up to maximum
RF power level???
I had erratic high SWR until I grounded the outer coax via the mount to the car body..however that was not a Mag Mount.
HI. Where does the programming cable connect? There is no USB input on the back
CRT SS 7900 in export mode, the M7 easily goes up to 40w in USB
Turn up Mic Gain on Standard Mic to compeat better with the power Mic's, then see what happens?
did you change the mic setting from EL to DY or no??
Dziękuję za film, mam zamiar kupić takie radio. Pozdrawiam z Polski i wszystkiego dobrego dla Ciebie w Nowym Roku !
Would have been great if we could see what you were doing. Most of the time you could only see the back of your hand. 🤨
Iv just bought a crt ss7900v but it hasn't got 11mtr on it, iv widened the bands to 2 band but I can't get it to sink with the uk cb band.iv ordered a download cable from Knights and I'm hoping there's somewhere I can find some help online to help me sort it.
I like the sound of the K-PO
Where can we get the Kpo mike? Can we get them here in USA?
Scott's radios llc google it
Thru experience the CRT range on FM and ssb especially the mic gain in the radio needs lowering to about 12/15 with any power Mike..... Try it the clarity does so much better.... Using both gains high just don't work.... Usually but not always...!! Lowish Mike gain on radio and 25% to 40 % on the Mike is best.. all Mick's are a little different.. the kpo powered and unpowered are quite good if IF your carefull with the radio gain..
İ have both of the CRT 7900 V Turbo and also the CRT SS 9900 V4 and both these radios İ highly recommend!
Hi. In your opinion, which is the best choice? I saw a video and it seems that the 7900's sound is better.
@@EGASS84 They are both good but the ss 7900 has a digital noise limiter which the ss 9900 does not have!
You can change the 7900 on the front left bottom display to your own call sign as I did, but you do need a programming lead to do so. Its a very nice radio to use, the best is the CTSS on board to get the repeaters.
M-7 mic is not good for Side Banding, I even tried drilling out the hole to 5mm but it didn't make any difference. Admittedly I do have a deep voice.
Nice job. How does that antenna compare with the basic Sirio 5000 base load configuration??
Le K PO NM 532 est très bon !
just caught your video ,, very kewl!! from one C.T. member to another,, cheers and beers!! 2CT057
Hi. KPO seems to be better for DX because with more treble. Cobra is not very good, sound is bad. Test a desktop microphone and adjust moderately the level . I use a kenwood MC80 with an old President Lincoln, modulation is very clear. Astatic microphones have a very treble and metallic modulation, it doesn't match with my voice. 73
Cobra set at 6, but 6 out of what? Geez mate!!
The K-PO to me is much clearer sounding and better microphone. I wonder what the Astatic 636L would do on that radio ?
Have you ever considered the amount of channels you could bleed into using a over driven power microphone…my opinion is there is far too many transceivers that cannot reject close channel interference from this type of microphone …one thing worth remembering there are electronic engineers with a greater knowledge than the sum total of all users who design these transceivers for optimum performance …if you are quiet on air simply turn up the the gain in the function settings and save you money for a few beers instead ,after all you are only repeating what the transceiver is capable of doing itself…only saying 🤔73 ps….the CRT ss7900v is probably the best 10/11m tranceiver on the market today with a 5k shift and good 5 level digital noise reduction producing a decent output around 60w
2nd best compared to the McKinley of course 👍.
In the states it an Anytone 5555
K-po does rock
I've noted that the CRT SS-6900n V6 seems to have some spurs, about 2.5MHz either side of the fundamental frequency - in SSB mode. Have you seen anything like this with the 7900?
Thanks for the demo ! May I ask where can i get the conversion mic plug ??? Thay are not easy to find .. thanks If you sell these conversion plugs " Adapter" I will buy one from you ...
Mike I might be wrong but I did see a video about setting up the deviation potentiometer inside a rig when used with a power Mike and I’m pretty sure it was the 7900!!!!!! Zollie TE701 - M6ZPS
Hello I have a question I have this radio and it says maximum 10 amperes on the back so I got a 15 ampere power supply but no matter if I have highest power, the radio only draw 4-6 ampere I don’t understand why so low.
it's simple, can't you see that it doesn't have the power turned up to maximum
@@antonello9375 Well it’s has it turned up on maximum.
I have a question, on hand D my swr is good, around 1,4 but if I change to any other bands the swr is sky high. What could be wrong?
But what is the swr meter at? I just see one staple but not showing the actual number
Hi Mike - do you have a microphone wiring for your adapter thanks
Hi Mike - do you have a microphone wiring for your adapter thanks
I love the loud rock to muted speech transition lets me adjust my volume as I watch lol
I think that KPO sounded better because it also had a high pitch. In others, the voice sounded stuffy.
The Standart and the KPO the Cobra is not so la la
