Very cool video. Ive never been to a Christmas Con but im from Kansas City and they did a whole month long Christmas Experience where they Made this Hallmark like town square with similar activities and a lot of Hallmark stars did speaker panels. Kind of like a Christmas con as Hallmark is based in Kansas City. It would be fun to go to in the future.

I am not sure how this special went under my radar for so many years. My favorite Christmas album when i was a kid was the John Denver & the Muppets A Christmas Together. I somehow missed this when it aired and was unaware of its existence. I did find it earlier this month and watched it a couple of times. So amazing they were able to combine all the Muppet properties in this special and to see Jim Henson also adds to the feeling of how special this program was.

I randomly stumbled upon your channel and I agree with your ranking almost completely. Wow! While I think A Charlie Brown Christmas rightfully beats this special due to its enormous influence on television as a whole, this one is my personal favorite. It's a such a shame that it's stuck in legal limbo because the rights to all of the characters are split up. In Canada, it aired on YTV almost every year until the Muppets were acquired by Disney in 2004.

These clips are so nostalgic not only being a Gen X 'r born in 76 that experienced this at the age of 10 and remember much of it, but the '80s, and '90s for the most part, were the final chapters in which decades had a tangible character, that carry on to this day with an inherently powerful impact on today's music and entertainment industry. In my opinion, they produced a legion of instant classics that defined the time collectively. The last bastion of the zeitgeist prior to the explosion of the information age, where the spirit of Christmas was still free from the internet, cell phones and 24 hour cable television. It's an almost prosaic journey to take yourself back to view the world through the lense as presented in this video just nearly 40 short years ago, it was quite a different time...

I was a freshman in college in December of 87. I am glad I came of age during the 80s. It was a great decade to be alive.

Holy CRAP 1986 was DARK.😮 Hahah wtf, so much Yuletide Tragedy. It's like all five stations were trying to out-depress the rest. Crazy.

The only other one that I can think of that I really love (that fit the criteria) that didn't make this list is the Phineas and Ferb Christmas special. Other than that, it's a great list, with a bunch of my favorites, some that I'd forgotten, and a few that I've never heard of that sound interesting.

Never got Pee Wee's appeal. The few times I tried to watch it, I just heard a half hour of noise.

And by the way you forgotten the swimming pool sequence which was actually filmed at the four seasons hotel in Chicago Illinois.

I love this version. They do such a great job of staying true to the actual story, while making it more kid-friendly.

One of my all time favorites. I got a record player for Christmas this year, and my dad let me take some records from his collection. The album for this special was in that group, and I definitely snatched it up. I still remember all the songs, and could practically recite it word for word.

Hi, I saw the original Marlo Thomas movie when it came out in 1977 and I was absolutely blown away by it. I think it is way better than Jimmy Stewart. I love both versions but I like the 1977 version much much better obviously you and I have different opinions which is OK I am a female. I'm thinking you are probably male by the voice on the video And that may be why we have differences in opinions doesn't really matter. We both have a right to her opinions I respect yours I'm sure you will respect mine. Marlo is better lol happy holidays.🎉
