Version 1.3 is now up! Several of the custom animations have been slightly re-worked to attempt to make them feel a little more natural.

My dream combo is this mod mixed with spoon's HD Characters 2.0 and Vanilla+ Experience. Magic would be made if they worked together.

Some animations need rework, but I still like those changes and will install this mod next time I'll replay Frontiers.

Ever since seeing Super Sonic's swagger standing over a ledge in Sonic 3, I'm a sucker for anything that makes Sonic cooler, especially the animations emphasize Super Sonic's confidence and next-level power. Not a fan of Sonic's recent games but this is aesthetically pleasing.

I'm seeing a lot of comments saying that the animations could use refining and while this is true, I'll take them any day of the week over what we currently have. Yes they're not perfect but they do perfect sonic's STYLE his PERSONALITY. Something that Sonic has been missing for a long time.

Do somethng about that dreadful « stop dead in mid air and rise perpendicular to the ground after a homing attack » situation, and we ‘re in business ! XD

Version 1.2 is up! It's small fixes (primarily fixing the t-posing Super Sonic Phantom Clones in the Giganto Grand Slam Phantom Rush) and also allows you to choose the animations and model tweaks without the modified physics.

Is possible to do a video trying it'?

i think that the fact air drag is actually kept from the base game is neat, i appreciate trying to maintain the balance, but i would personally suggest making it less jarring (probably airtime based instead of all being at the start of the jump) if you can. idk if you know how frontiers lua works though so i'm not gonna say this is a must-change thing

I echo everyone else's sentiments: the physics tweaks look great, but the animations need a lot of work. I haven't seen many people specifically say HOW to improve the animations, though, so I'd like to give proper feedback on that. The primary thing is making them less stiff. You have a lot of good ideas for key poses, but I think they need to be pushed even more. Then to make the animations less stiff, the body parts need to move with more fluid timing and more in arcs. Right now, everything looks robotic in motion - they just move from one position straight to another at the exact same speed and timing, especially his head turns. You need to vary the time between frames depending on the motion and make sure to follow through. Another specific tweak I would make is to make his running animation less bouncy the faster it gets. I love when he bounces a lot when he's just jogging, but by the full-speed run nothing should really move except his legs. How it is now looks like the strobing in SA2, which looks really bad. I see you have a bit of that when he goes faster due to slopes, but it should really also apply to his max run speed on flat ground too. I'd look at a lot of other custom Frontiers animation mods to get some inspiration. You have good ideas here!

All other upgrades are amazing, but I'm specially in love with Sonic's new running animation. Thanks for fixing his terrible cycle.

Thank you all so much for the awesome reception and helpful feedback on the mod so far! The response has been incredible. I have been taking the critiques to heart and will hopefully have opportunities in the future to refine some of the custom animations. But in the meantime, I have just released version 1.1 that adds configuration options that allows you to toggle the tweaked models and custom animations on and off for those that just want the physics component. I hope you all are enjoying the mod!

Dear modders, would you kindly stop making 1 mod for everything. Can you please do multiple ones: 1 for physics, 1 for animation and so on, so i can choose what to have and not deal with mod conflicts, thanks
