I switched to a Modern Sony Walkman
มุมมอง 1.2Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Over the last few months, my iPod had been having unfixable issues that I could no longer bear. I had no idea what to do until I discovered a modern version of the iPod: the newer Sony Walkman. I've since switched to using it for various reasons outlined in the video, and plan to soon sell my iPod. Am I becoming a Sony fanboy? Heh, maybe. ©2024-2025 XVolt Productions

I dont suppose you know the name or type of the av cable? I recently bought the Sharp VL-AH131 to use as a player to digitise old tapes. It looks like it maybe a custom connection but not sure. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
I'm pretty sure they just use 3.5mm av jacks, at least mine did
Hopefully that works, the original cable is a strange one, and impossible to find! Thanks for your help
what hp laptop was that?
Have you tried using media monkey as a media installer? it is easier to use than itunes.
thanks I just restore macbook white 2009 for use daily
thanks
Awesome video
The newer iTunes does seem to clash with Mavericks in terms of UI design.
i need thinkpad.. now....
If you ever make a follow up video i recommend chromium legacy, its pretty much chrome 124 for OS X 10.7 and above... very modern 2024 browser.

I wish my thrift stores had these. Sadly they only have TVs, digital photo frames and cheap knockoff mice/keyboards
That sounds like a great haul!
Hey man that's a cool vid, keep up the good work!
me again :p from @CalvinStevens-s3t cause i have a related question. What's your thoughts on the Microsoft Zune? I believe it's over hated (I use a Zune HD with music I get from CDs I have purchased, or digitla music from bandcamp) as I believe spotify like you have said in your ipod video is scum.
im sorry, this is so unrelated. saviors is an amazing album.
are your profile picture is adorable ^w^
I am looking to having both since i own a 7th gen ipod classic it's in mint condition,so i dont want to open it up yet. So i am planning on getting the NW-A306 since on it i can stream and easier to expand storage
. Can the battery be replace easy?
I checked a repair guide before buying this and there are videos telling you how to do it, and it's not the easiest but it's also not too hard
Estos equipos son de lo mejor principalmente los de sony por su potencia de salida de audio
What is the sony walkman version?
assuming you mean model number it's the NW-A45
And to think that the TDP of the 2012 MacBook Air is 17W (They really should've made the MBP more efficient)
there's only so much you can do with Intel chips, especially in 2012. Add the fact that the MacBooks of the era have pretty poorly designed cooling systems and you've got a recipe for overheating
@ Yeah, the MacBooks (especially 2016-2018) were really terrible thermally
I ended up switching to streaming after months of FLAC and years of mp3 music because of convenience, but it's always nice seeing love for physically owned music
i might bye the ipod depending on the price
you could use iphone 4s it sound really good through 3.5mm jack
Great video!
I think you should review an Xperia Play
BALLS. Now I want a same generation camcorder! What doesn't help is that there are two near me for sale for decent prices. But I need to save money!!! :'(
I need to make a video like this. I've got a ton of tech stuff to show off myself but haven't gotten around to doing it.
Or, if you're an enthusiast with these old devices, you can be like me and get both. I have an iPhone 3GS and an iPod Touch 1G, as well as an iPod Touch 4G with a bad battery, and I'm soon getting an iPhone 4S. I jailbreak all my legacy Apple devices too, to unlock their full potential.
I just watched your A Core Game from 2022 good to see you again
Im a egg
Bro turned into a furry (lol). But yeah, as a kid I wanted this laptop instead of the 2015 mbp, that I really like, even thought the specs are like 20x worse
Definitely the prettiest smartphone ever... like that 2001 monolith of transcendence
Linux mint is Mana, a fountain of youth that is almost sorcery
The kind of laptop that would last 2 decades with Linux
I have a 2009 iMac "1st gen i5, 16gb ram and SSD" running like new with Linux Mint, it's my "daily driver"
as someone who uses macbook pro 2012 15inch it's great but can't use linux because of the gpu the gpu driver is stopped being supported and later the security updates for the gpu stopped and after time it stopped working on linux on the newer kernels so i need to find a distro with older kernel or to compile it myself but then that time wasted can be used for something other than fucking with linux kernel
ive run the latest version of ubuntu and linux mint on this exact system in the past, have you tried those?
@@XVoltProductions tried it you have 13 inch and all 13 inch don't have dGPU but the all 15 have dGPU
whats the name of the other laptop?
HP Elitebook 845 G7
Great video. What kind of laptop are you using now?
HP Elitebook 845 G7
I have one of these too, but it doesnt charge anymore :(, i tried also changing the battery but it still wont charge, instead, when plugged it says its using the power outlet as its power source
I use pale moon and Firefox does not support mavericks you cant even launch it anymore Pale moon is really good
Use chromium legacy, much better
Did you ever sell that framework?
not yet
@@XVoltProductionsWould love to know if you're still willing to
It is most defininetly still usable, i reinstalled mac os on my late 2013 imac which was mac os mavericks and before i updated i wanted to see just how usable mavericks would be, it supports a decent version of firefox and also a pretty recent version of chromium! I got chromium 127 working no problem so you can check emails, play all games through cloud gaming, i played fortnite on xbox cloud gaming in chromium and it worked very good, but yeah you can watch youtube, play games, check emails, pretty much everything one would need on a computer
Why did you put the Window Vista background in the video image when you were dual booting Window XP, Window 7, and Linux?
Just ordered my Framework 13 today, I am just as excited as you!!
I think you will be fine with that Mac. I have a 2011 MacBook Air, and while it's specs are far worse than a MacBook Pro, I find that it works absolutely great under Linux. Even though a new battery costs about as much as the whole laptop did, I figure it is worth the cost to keep it running (It will bring my total investment in it to $160). I can be on the couch playing Cyberpunk 2077 or Baldur's Gate 3 streaming it from my Linux desktop, it has bluetooth that will pair with my Dualshock 4 controller and there doesn't seem to be lag in that setup. It has a solid keyboard, it has enough power to watch 1080p TH-cam videos, takes less than 30 seconds to boot up Debian 12 with OpenBox, Tint2, Wbar, and Conky, and it has an SD card slot so I can put photos on it directly or when I go on a trip I can carry a few SD cards full of movies, music, and roms for emulators. I have considered buying a Framework or even an M1 MacBook, but I have a powerful desktop, so it is so hard to justify lots of money for a portable computer will spend it's time mostly on word processing, web surfing, and streamed gaming content.
I think I probably would have hung on as that macbook has quite a few years on it. I don't like to daily something more than 5 or 6 years old.
I see that linux mint on that macbook 🤣 In all seriousness the Framework13 is one I have thought about but it is tough for the price. I can get plenty of better hardware for the cost but the Framework isn't really about being cost-effective now is it?
Framework 13 DIY is pretty value based, especially if you want to go with high RAM/storage. Nothing else will compare with the framework for the price if you were to go with 64gb or 96gb of RAM or even a high SSD
when you used it with arch linux, did you go through the steps on the arch wiki to fix some of the issues? did you try any of the supported distro's, or did you just stick with arch? also, the expansion cards plug into USB-C ports, the expansion cards are literally just adapters shaped to fit the framework.if you want to buy that Ethernet adapter, you can do that, and providing the port isn't too thick, you might be able to plug it in without the USB-C card.
I used the wiki as much as I could, and I only had used arch on this laptop until I went back to windows after 4 months
@@XVoltProductions damn, I'm thinking of getting a framework and installing some form of Linux, most likely something arch based since it's what in familiar with, then again I rly enjoy tinkering with things to try and get them to work
arch wasn't bad on the framework and I didn't have any major issues that I couldn't fix, it's just arch isn't for me so that's mainly why I switched out
@@XVoltProductions yeah, that's understandable, it can be frustrating compared to other distro's more or less "just working" 😅
I got a first gen se works like a charm and a 2013 MacBook (modded) My main phone is a 12 mini
Here is some information to help. Not only should it have the power-supply plugged into the mains to help it prevent-power-saving mode which can hinder things like compression _(a combination of RAM and FPU strain)_ but with the laptop only having 2GB RAM _(unless more RAM can be installed, which would help, even at 4GB but 8GB would be better),_ having Debian XFCE (or LXDE) from DVD like you had but on the net via DHCP RJ45-ethernet cable to the router _(updating and grabbing drivers as it goes)_ would be a reasonable user-friendly to light operating-system compared to having that Ubuntu based OS which is intended for computers with more RAM. The Ext4 File-system will do, but ZFS _(and sometimes BTRFS if in certain configurations but it is not as demanding as ZFS)_ will do a lot of its work in RAM and the computer will incur performance penalties. Do ensure the SSD is screwed into place with the bracket. Remember to learn _(asking good sites)_ how to have the Whisker-Menu in XFCE showing. SuperTuxKart and MineTest and OAD are reasonable benchmarks whilst using MangoHUD and HTOP _(and 7Zip can be benchmarked and VLC-MediaPlayer tested out for video playback or audio compression such as a Wav file to an Ogg-Vorbis file)._ One approach would be to start with Debian11, and then take a system-image drive-clone with Ghost4LinuxG4l from UltimateBootCD538 _(such as into multiple 2GB, selected as 4GB, compressed files of extension tar gz),_ and then benchmark, and upgrade Debian from 11 to 12 via Rj45 ethernet _(unless WiFi is fast enough)_ via DHCP router. Then take another system-image drive-clone into 2GB chunks _(onto a USB external hard-drive or USB drive)_ and benchmark it again. for typing LibreOffice and GNumeric or AbiWord, it could do some reasonable work as a small laptop _(and for PuTTy FTP software)._ Having a mains-electric powered USB hub (even USB2 can be OK for some things) can be useful, especially if using a keyboard and mouse externally with it or other network or bluetooth devices or a webcamera like the playstation2EyeToyCamera with GuvCViewCameraSoftware. As an aside, even though it can take some tweaks, Slackware could be useful on the laptop, with slackports. My comment has no hate in it and I do no harm. I am not appalled or afraid, boasting or envying or complaining... Just saying. Psalms23: Giving thanks and praise to the Lord and peace and love. Also, I'd say Matthew6.
