Haven Tent XL Review
I kinda screwed up. here's a timelapse of setting up the Haven Tent XL lay flat hammock for camping. Waterproof camo rain fly. Built in air mattress for camping. I meant to record normal video and did timelapse instead. So I pause it and discuss the features.

At 100-150 yards away are they engaging you and with what? 9mm PCC is more of an up to 50 yards with accuracy. Again… Escape & evade in SHTF. If there is still law & order in a temporary situation why are we engaging 100+ yards?
I'm not out to kill no matter where be life is a give in take
Blades and guns not allowed to be carried in UK ............ but some do ,what use are martial arts then?
Weird mentality......
I just made up three bags from supplies I've been buying since 2020. I doubt I could walk a quarter mile without rest with any of them, lol. It's a good experience on your first tries. Too many redundancies in mine, lol I will be repacking them. Then I can probably build two more.
the challenge i see is going around a city. for example, working on one sire of detroit and living on the other side. that is a straight through drive of 48 miles, having to avoid the "don't get out of the car" areas, is going to add about 15 miles, maybe 10. making a 2 day walk into a 3 day walk. and the night vision option is a must in the city if the power is out.
wouldnt be illegal second amendment
You should of did more research before making this video. Many hammocks have mosquito nets. And the haven is way bigger than most solo tents. That's bigger than my 3 man 80.00 tent I bought from Amazon. Also hammocks usually aren't more than 40-50 with a net
Patterns and inconsistencies help identify individuals of concern.....capability plus intent equals threat.
thanks for watching
Does it fit 60 gauge cigars?
sorry, i haven't tried that yet, but I'm guessing their website would probably have that info.
Keep the camping gear, ditch the LEO stuff, in shtf the goal it to guard your family and your life and get to where you are going, taking prisoners is dangerous and puts you in a moral dilemma that should require you to care for said prisoner, that will take resources away from your objective. Take no prisoners and give no quarter.
oh I wouldn't be taking prisoners. I'd just be leaving them flex-cuffed so they can't come after me quickly. it's all situational.
More tracking videos? Yes! Yes! Definitely yes!
Total pack weight? Possibly the most crucial detail and yet it is left out of virtually every video of this type. I also hate it when people “guess” the weight of bags and items, since most people are notoriously bad at estimating weight.
honestly I don't think it matters that much unless we're talking about the difference between a 10lb pack and a 50lb pack. When it's this size and the difference is a few pounds...either you're fit enough to carry it for one day or you're not.

The XL is definitely the way to go, even for a person of smaller stature. I LOVE mine. LOVE IT. My Hammock setup weighs just as much, if not more after the underquilt, tarp, blanket, stakes, etc. Its a wash, honestly but the added comfort the Haven offers over the typical hammock setup is worth it's weight in gold.
Totally agree!
I have rebuilt my get home bag multiple times to get weight down, but it is still heavy. Your thoughts on a bag to get through the Roger's Pass . From Golden BC to Kamloops BC, about 200 miles. 20 F tonight.
ha dang that sounds like a long cold hike. Obviously you need to carry a lot more gear than the average person who lives in/around a city. Is it 200 miles to home or to the closest place where you could find help?
Look at ultralight hiking bags.
it's seems get home bag is build for fighting bag didn't know u need all that high tech gear to get home to much money for me
Great Video! I'm a bit of a newbie so I appreciated not only seeing the items but your explanations and uses of the items. BTW: Any chance you would consider making a video on Get Home in a City scenario....I'm in South Florida and it's city and burbs from Palm Beach to Homestead (Very South Miami)....on top of that, there's only a few major highways....kinda scary on how to navigate in this situation and would REALLY APPRECIATE some guidance. Thanks so much for your video!
Thanks for watching. I see what I can do on that video idea.
SO far from the grey man approach. You'll likely get flagged before you know it. Great items, but trying to be a 1 man army is not a good approach.
Subbed, Happy New Year🎉🎉 Enjoyed the content!😊
appreciated
That's a great bag, totally flat on the front, inconspicuous. I can't find one like yours. All the bags in that category on MR have all manner of zippers on the face.
well sir...all i see is an old guy who is fat. im pretty sure you do not have what it takes to survive if you need to hike anywhere. Unfortunately for you your out of shape. leave the tacticool shit to the people that can actually do something without having to break every 10 min.
Omg. If u need all this crap to get home then u need to work on ur skills. Ur telling me if its that bad out where u need to abandon ur vehicle and get home to ur family, ur gonna set up a shelter because its raining? These “get home” bags are unreal. Cool for videos or if u were in a movie. If i get a booboo it will be addressed when i know my family is safe and im home to protect them
I thought this was a parody or this guy was trolling other ghb videos. He says he has 12-15 miles to walk and he’s got nvg, handcuffs, deodorant, and a water bottle he can catch minnows in oh and a camouflage net which still looks like a pack. Very strange.
nope, i'm just saying this is the bag and the gear that I carry everyday in my car. If I have to ditch the car, I'm grabbing this bag. It's a "want" not a "need" bag.
@@slippery999 read other comments. this is the bag and gear that lives in my car. I don't need all this gear, it's just what I choose to have. It serves other purposes besides just walking home in a sketchy scenario.
Most realistic comment right here. It seems that these GHB videos are turning into a contest to see who has more ‘toys’ in their bag.
Buy food with a pocket full of bullets. Maybe the we will be on the Bullet standard
I've watched dozens of these "Get Home Bag" videos. What I've learned about building one is that half of the components are identical. That is a gun, knife, water filter, medical kit, shelter, etc. About another quarter of the bag is built around where you live and/or what time of year you're in. The last quarter pretty much seems to be optional, whatever makes you feel safe and you're personal style of survival. I have to admit, my bag is in a constant state of flux. I change things up based on the times of the year and where my travels may take me. Plus, I may add things or change things up based on people's ideas. Not only does all this keep me prepared, I just enjoy the hell out of it.
U might enjoy it because u have a bunch of “stuff”, but if u were serious u would rely more on skills than a bag or crap u dont need. Get in shape. Learn how to craft if u had to. U wanna be light and fast. Well i do anyway. Im not leaving my family alone a min longer than i have to
You are exactly right about developing skills. I've acquired many over my life through the military and hobbies. I'm a bit OCD, that's why I love organizing, sorting, and tweaking equipment.@@seanwhitman4365
My get home/can’t get home bag is very personal to my needs. What might I need to get from point B to point A. It’s not far, so I plan for minimal stopping time, road safety, sun, rain, cold. Maintaining communication, some water, a small amount of food that requires no prep. Good shoes. But I also prep for having to stay with the vehicle if that is the best option, with my young grandson if necessary. Think car breakdown but not a SHTF scenario!
Each to their own, as we all live different lives. I think get home bags should small and light as I'm trying to cover ground fast, not camp out for the night. I also don't like everything being in one bag in a truck, as the main reason I would be on foot would be if my vehicle and I was separated, and that could be bye bye gear.
I couldn’t agree more. Im not keeping my family waiting while im camping for the night. Fast and light! I def dont need baby wipes because im nasty 🤦♂️
That doesn't even make sense. No one plans on camping out for the night but there is a limit as to how far a person can travel on foot in a day. Nothing in the video suggested he plans on camping overnight if he doesn't have to.
So a belt with possibly velcro would avoid causing a red flag so it wouldnt have to be removed.
This more of a bug out bag.
to each their own. A bugout bag to me is where you're leaving home and most likely not coming back. It would have a lot more gear. This bag is a bit too much, I agree, but it's what I'm willing to carry for those 24hr or less scenarios.
You’ve got a great mission driven assault or survival pack that would sustain you for a very long trip home in a WROL situation. But I fail to see the point for a “max 20 mile” walk from your nearest town. That stuff is much to valuable to leave in a vehicle in todays world where theft is so common. I wouldn’t want to see a thief benefiting in that case.
Thanks for watching. The point of that is because 20 miles is the maximum distance I would have to hike from the furthest point in my city. If a person was facing a 40 mile hike and multiple days of travel, they might need more or different gear.
Thanks for your video and allowing us to look over your shoulder. What model is your folding 9mm carbine? Thanks.
Thanks for watching. It's the KelTec Sub2000
20 miles would be two days. Speaking from an experienced backpacker…
Thanks for watching. I'm experienced as well and over the flat terrain of a city, 20 miles is doable. I don't plan on sleeping overnight if possible.
Then u need some more practice
A 20 mile hike, for an experienced hiker, is a solid average. Many hikers do significantly more than 20 miles per day.
Solid loadout buddy. You are the first person who carries a Garmin InReach unit in their GHB. I also carry the Garmin InReach Explorer unit in mine. It has the ability to send text messages or emails to others, or call in a rescue. It has a compass, topo maps, and the ability to get a local weather forecast, also others at home can track you. Thanks again for some great ideas.
The first person huh? That’s crazy you can assume that 😂
Thanks for watching.
To be honest it didn’t make you invisible because I did see the outline of the camouflage, you where hidden but not completely and if you where to be using this as a sniper you’d have been spotted
I've been looking at a folding bicycle. That could make that 15 mile, 6-7 hour walk into a 1 hour ride. You want to get home before anyone decides to take over your homebase in your absence!
decent idea. Thanks for watching.
I think of that everytime I leave my home.
Also, if you have to use a bike to get home then other people along your route may just try to take it away from you. Just a thought.
@@ldtexas1648 that’s the reason for the AR15 pistol in the get home bag. And even if you do lose it, you still made better time while you did have it.
@@patriotpreacher43 You're right. 👍 But a lot of people just don't think all this stuff through. I've been told that I "think too much". Imagine that!
It’s too bad the satellite text plans are as expensive as a cell plan.
agree.

Nice video and gear…. I’m really digging the mission bag

did u get the small or large? It looks like you cant get bluettoth unless you buy the large.

I'm familiar. If someone is trespassing on my property and I have no idea they are there and I'm just recreation shooting and they catch a bullet. I'm not breaking any laws. They are for trespassing though. Some ridiculous liberal judge and jury could twist that and call it manslaughter, but that's a serious stretch.
Hey don’t diss Iowa like that Like your state is better
LOL - Iowa IS my state. I grew up there, which is why I know the hunting laws. (in theory. they may have changed and I didn't realize it)
In iowa you have to ask permission 😂😂
I grew up there. unless they changed that rule, you were always allowed to go on private property to recover a shot animal without asking permission.
right
Same as in Georgia always respect other people property before entering
yep exactly
yep!
Thank you I made a few today watching this
