Happy Harvest Homestead
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 17 ก.ย. 2019
This channel is all about homesteading. We currently have both French angora rabbits and meat rabbits, chickens, miniature dairy goats, honeybees, LGD dogs and barn cats. I post videos three times a week about things that go on around the homestead. You'll find videos about rabbit colonies, milking goats, hatching baby chicks, training farm kittens, and preserving produce from the garden. Some videos are filmed in a vlog style, while otherss are more formal and instructional. Each video is carefully made, edited, and posted in the hope that people like you enjoy and learn from them. I hope you'll join our family on our homesteading adventure.

Anti-Mating Goat Buck Apron Review | You NEED to Get One!
มุมมอง 2.1K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our family has been successfully using anti-mating buck aprons (also called skirts) on our Nigerian Dwarf males for years. We've used them on weanling kids who are barely old enough to accidentally breed, extremely hormonal young bucklings who are experiencing their first rut, and mature seasoned bucks who are experienced fathers. Buck aprons are wonderful! We've never had a single accidental p...

Feeding Rabbits Naturally When You're in a Rush | VLOG
All the rabbits I had growing up used cat litter trays, but full of saw dust. Put one in your rabbits home, give it a few days, maybe a week, and I guarantee it'll figure it out itself.
Very informative video. My 1 year old silver Fox doe is going is a first time mom. I placed the nest box in her cage at day 25. She immediately began to build her nest and did a lot of hay stashing. Today begins day 33. No kits at this point and no fur pulling. You’re correct, it is frustrating. Question: have you experienced a first time doe going beyond 30, 31 or 32 days?
Thanks for sharing

What zone do you live in? What do you do during the winter time?
Wow 🤩 it’s been a year, now!! Do you still have rabbits??
I love your vids so much. It’s been a long time since your last post, and I really do miss your videos. I used to look forward to whenever you posted. I hope you’re doing well, and I hope you’re not completely done with TH-cam.
My Mini Rex is in my office in a9 sq ft pen from chewy 35$
Wow thank you, this helps me alot actually, was very worried but you calmed my nerves, couple of my girls fought and one got hurt pretty badly, put some ointment on it but now gonna let it run its course, thank you.
R u pulling up the roots of the grass? It won't grow back.
Thank you, good video
Do you feed your adult rabbits the same mix you feed the growing bunnies?
I have read and heard that dried peas are not good for rabbits because they are hard for them to digest and most rabbits do not care for them anyway. They will eat fresh peas and do like them fresh.
Rabbits can eat grains?
Thank you SO MUCH!!
This is great and my goal too! We have got to stop our feed bill! Ours forage all day but we feed them to put them up at night.
The way you framed it at the end absolutely melted my heart. My two does that are in milk right now RACE and FIGHT at the gate to get to the milking stand first; and it’s always a pain in the butt because sometimes they get out at the same time 😂 You absolutely changed my perspective here, and you’re so right. Happy animals are the ultimate goal 🥰
when did you dry off your other goats ? 3 months before they give birth ?
I hope they grow up healthy with or without mom
I. Think one group of babies each month is a lot for the mom to process
Thank you, just the advice I was looking for.
As far as I'm aware the actual reason rabbits are meant to have so much timothy hay in their diet is not because of problems like GI stasis. There are plenty of other fibre food sources and you can even get timothy hay pellets for them. The real issue is that rabbits need to be chomping on hay to avoid dental issues since their teeth always grow and if there isn't the action of eating hay to wear down their teeth, they will eventually overgrow. If molar roots overgrow then your rabbits will be in pain whenever they eat and you'll be in the realm of needing to remove molars which i think can be problematic.
I'm in this situation right now. Luckily I have saved fur. The mom won't mind the fur is not her's?
My doe pulled hair after delivery too
I was looking for new homesteading channels to follow, but click baity title left a poopy impression.
how often do you give this to your goats?
You solved my problem! Thank you so much for this video
Hi, could you tell me the best goat for milk, cheese, yougurt and butter? Thank you from California😊
Very nice.
Don’t have animals
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
I love all of your videos and it’s been forever since you’ve done a video can you pls pls make more videos I love your rabbit videos and could you possibly do one of those but if you can’t make videos that’s fine I hope you had a good day.❤🙏🏻❤
Im trying to feed natural also . Could you tell me what plants/weeds and grasses do you feed them . Ive been trying to find a TH-camr that goes into more details of the types of things they feed . I guess im being overly cautious 😅 not wanting to feed them the wrong things
I mean this in the nicest way possible, but putting information like this out there is irresponsible. You absolutely can feed rabbits only pellets and they are unlikely to drop dead (some can live long lives on pellets), but its not whats best for them. Rabbits are fragile animals with sensitive digestive systems and improper diet DOES increase the risk of health issues. However, that doesn't guarantee that they will get sick. Thats not how these things work. Saying that you fed your rabbits all pellets for a bit and they didn't die, doesn't really prove anything. Its like saying you had an uncle who smoked and still lived to be 90. Only about 10-20% of smokers will get lung cancer, meaning 80-90% won't. That doesn't mean we should encourage smoking. People raising livestock have different priorities than people keeping rabbits as pets, and thats fine. Everyone can handle their own animals whichever way works best for them. But encouraging something that all the research says increases health risks, without acknowledging or explaining those risks is irresponsible. Lots of rabbits will do fine on a pellet only diet and I'm glad yours are thriving. That being said, a pellet only diet increases the risk of gi stasis, intestinal blockages, dental disease, obesity, ect. People should know about those risks so they can make an informed decision. And again, an increased risk is an increased risk, not a guarantee something will happen. That doesn't make it a myth
So good to know. I have 9 backyard chickens and looking for the best options to feed them. They love our scraps so far.
Yep,,pellet cost adds up quickly
Getting some xpens work well for rabbits so they gat a chance to run
Thanks for all your rabbit experiences
Those are meat rabbits? Awh :(
What does she mean by that? Like ... I see she cares about them but she calls them meat rabbits? Can anyone explain m
Pellets are not unhealthy, as many commenters suggest. They have everything that the rabbit needs. But hay should always be given for gut health. You need pellets for growouts, as you admit yourself. Free range kits will also weigh less anyway as they're exercising.
Thank you , fantastic video!
Why make a 4 minute video for something that doesn’t work? Ugh.
Thanks for posting. Saves me time and effort. Neem oil and DE seems to be helping a bit, but they're still out of control so i think I'll try garlic spray next.
is that garlic spray working?
Wire cages are not good for the rabbits feet.
Experimenting on Wabbits..? Let's feed this wanna be scientist 100% rabbit pellets... I'm betting the results will be the same. She will not die... but then let's take a look at her physical and mental health and cognitive abilities... A human can live off McDonalds... how many of you are up for it...?
What if my doe has stopped pulling fur is she okay?
Is it healthy for pet rabbits?
Thanks for this informative episode, about their behaviour n higharchi.
Oh, so, no, it isn't super dangerous. Click bait title. misleading. Bye.
