They're here! | Viscount Products for Showroom Unboxing and Setup (June 2023)
I've just purchased a cantorum trio plus hopfully should be coming soon. I didn't know about all the orchestral voices
Let alone the three Zimbelsterns? 😉 I made a short about that a while ago: th-cam.com/users/shorts3PUz9Qsx9Sw?feature=share - Jonny
The sounds are very realistic! But in the demo of the 3 organ styles it would have been better to always play one sound stop after the other in the different organ styles, then the comparison would be more realistic. As it is, the sounds almost all sound similar.
Joachim, this is a showroom unit, so we didn't tinker too much with the actual nuances of each and every stop in every pipe set. Once you actually start using the Physis Plus Editor (in-console too, with it's easy-to-use user menu), you'll immediately notice the differences with every stop, especially with how you can literally change which stops you want and their parameters to the ideal organ sound you want. Due to Viscount's award-winning Physis Plus physical modelling technology, it's always created in real-time, never copied from samples. What you heard in this tour only scratches the surface of what this small powerhouse is truly capable of. - Jonny
Great video! I'm considering one of these for a portable organ setup and this gives me a lot of confidence that I made the right choice. It sounds amazing! I especially love what you can do with the orchestral voices. I'd love to layer them with the regular stops for a good rich sound.
I'm glad you like the orchestral voices! 😃 They're a lot of fun to play with and layer, you'll definitely have a lot of fun experimenting. 😊 - Jonny
Für Hammond git klar: "Auf den Namen allein kann man nicht setzen!!"
Einfach unglaublich!!! Da muss sich Suzuki-Hammond aber sehr warm anziehen!! 👍👍👍
Whats the action / key feel like? Nobody ever mentions this. Its crucial, imo.
Does it work with the viscount 32 AGO pedals?
As long as it uses MIDI as described in this one (www.viscountinstruments.com/instrument/pedaliera-midi-32-radiale-concava-ago/) the answer to your question is, yes. However, if you don't already have one, they will need to be placed as a special order. - Jonny
What is enclose?
Have played this thru the Vortex 315 speaker? Sounds really good!
Where do i buy this??????
Great question! First, in order to help you better, which country do you live in?
You need bass and drums.
Klingt alles gleich aehnlich. Kein Vergleich mit Hauptwerk.
You spent all 6. Minutes talkin
never saw this organ before
I'm probably the only person in the world who has the idea that it would be a truly "perfect" combination of both worlds to combine the volume possibilities of drawbars with the classical stops of a pipe organ... and another missed opportunity 😥
how loud is the keyboard action ? i hear the original cantorum duo was quite noisy on the rebound ( and can hear such in videos) . thanks
Nice, but can one manual be coupled to another for an even larger full organ sound?
Also the Celeste stops need tweaking.
From what we tried, it was not possible to couple the upper manual stops to the lower manual.
The editing of the stop sound can be done with the Legend Soul software.
Don’t forget the Pan Flute!!! 😂
We made sure to show it listed in this short of ours here: th-cam.com/users/shortsqpBb9guJrts. 😊 - Jonny
Though we made sure to demo it in this voice stops and orchestral voices tour video here: th-cam.com/video/giv388ny28Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Od7b1WFBB7aVijl3&t=1349 - Jonny
Horrible demo you need to play more than 2 notes. You need a few chords or riffs on each, maybe 15sec instead of 2
How much of the demo have you actually watched? In case you're new to the channel, this tour of the sound module presets was intended to be as brief and simple as possible. Because if I were to do what you suggested, quite frankly, this video tour would go unnecessarily longer due to how vast the presets are. I'm not as skilled as Lou in the prequel video to this (as seen here: th-cam.com/video/g_WSf8Q2fS0/w-d-xo.html ), so I would appreciate your understanding as to how we got to this. - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgansEr hat doch Recht! Was soll das, nur zwei drei Töne zu spielen. Können sie überhaupt Klavier spielen? sinnlose Demo sorry!
Hi, nice video, is there a way to know or see how to set up or assembly the original stand for the Legend 70s, especially how fast this can be done in a live situation ? Thx
Great question. From my experience with it, the stand for the Legend 70's was quick and easy to assemble. As for how long, I don't know the exact numbers, though my rough estimate would vary from a few minutes to a maximum of 10 minutes, depending on various factors such as having another set of hands helping you with it, a few fumbles that would delay a few seconds, etc. - Jonny

Zit er ook midi op of usb voor Hauptwerk?
Hij heeft (net als de nieuwere Trio Plus) MIDI-poorten aan de achterkant, dus hij kan ook gebruikt worden voor de Hauptwerk VPO-software. (It (like the newer Trio Plus) has MIDI ports at the back, so it can also be used for the Hauptwerk VPO software.) - Jonny
Sorry, but your mechanical playing style illustrates more effectively than words ever could the immense talent required to wrestle emotionally engaging music out of one of these.
Impressive until you came up with the "pipe" organ or "church" sounds - ugly beyond belief, except the "gospel" setting(s) and that was OK. I used to play a big "concert" model Hammond (can't recall actual model umber/name) and that was capable of very useable "church" sounds, typical Hammond, "middle-of-the-road" - of course, and some very good jazz sounds. This Viscount model seems really suited to "rock" genres. (I was referencing the true Hammond brand, not the recent user of that name).
Hi, is it possible to adjust the weight if the keys, my friend bought this elec organ but the keys are hard for her hand 😢
Hi there. Just so I understand you better, did your friend buy the old Cantorum Duo with sampled sounds, or the newer Cantorum Duo Plus with Physis Plus? - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgans hi thanks for the reply, i believe shes using the old version.
Thank you for your patience. I've looked into the user manual of the old Cantorum Duo (accessible online), and I'm sorry to say that there is no keyboard weight setting adjustment that I could find within the settings menu of the instrument. However, from my experience and looking into the user manual of the new Cantorum Duo Plus (also accessible online) on the other hand, there is a "Tracker Touch" setting found in the Keyboards sub-menu of its setup menu. From my experience with the Duo Plus, this Tracker Touch setting of the Duo Plus does a great job simulating the Tracker Touch effect with 5 different settings: No [as in it turns off the tracker touch setting], Simple, Light, Medium & Heavy - Jonny
Awesome playing and great for solo entertainment where you have time to switch up but when you play in a Band you have multiple Keyboards set up for the necessary input that includes synthesizer. But you did a great job with your demo.
Just more user riendly than any XK 4 and that ilk..
I'm a jazz guitarist and I listen to more Sax and Organ players than guitar players

you know there is only 6 drawbars on a Vox continental--not 9
That's a good observation, though after doing some research, it appears that Viscount were looking at the Vox Super Continental for the drawbar sounds, as seen in this video that I've just found: th-cam.com/video/e6cgjhz8DgA/w-d-xo.html Have you known a Vox Super Continental existed before? Because I've just learned of this now, and it's quite interesting how it all worked out. - Jonny

@@crazypainter56 Ok, though did you understand what I already said that Viscount (the manufacturer of the Legend Soul organs) must have been looking at the Vox Super Continental for the drawbar sounds, as seen in this video that I've found earleir: th-cam.com/video/e6cgjhz8DgA/w-d-xo.html ? - Jonny
How much the conturom duo plus?
Do you live in North America?
Thanks for your demonstration. I´ve some questions about the Pipe organ models in these Legend Soul series; the drawbars work as a potentiometer or a switch? The manual combinations can be coupled to the pedal? Can be saved different drawbars combinations in different memories? Is there a different audio output for only a reverberated sound?
Hi there, The drawbars when using the pipe organ models work as a switch. You'll need to pull it at least halfway from it's "off" position in order to turn it on, that way you don't necessarily have to pull them out fully to switch them on. From my experience with the Soul 261, it seems that the manual combinations cannot be coupled to the pedal as there's no coupler to allow that. The Soul 261 has very limited "set" combinations that can be saved. For more options to save combinations, from what I understand, the 273 version with its reverse-coloured keys at the very left of both upper and lower manuals will have more room for combinations. As for your last question, I can't say for sure if there is, or if it is programmable somehow with the Legend Soul editor. I'll get back to your comment as soon as I find out. - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgans drawbars act as switches...? Why should you use all gears in a car when you can also drive with the handbrake on and only drive backwards 😎
@@oliverfiedler8502 It's just how it was designed that way. I can't explain it to you another way. 🤷♂ - Jonny

It's great that the orchestral voices are assignable to all keyboards.

How many channels can it utilize… ?same question for cantorum trio plus
Short answer, up to 4 channels can be utilized, as seen in this short near the end where "External Amplification also available". Long answer, this information can be found in the reference manual found in Viscount International's websites for the Duo Plus and Trio Plus. Here it is for your convenience: www.viscountinstruments.com/instrument/cantorum-duo-plus/. It is also advised that the "External Amplification Setting Guide" is given a look also due to how Physis Plus physical modelling allows you to custom program each of the 4 "Prog. Out" channels. - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgans thank you
really impressive, your playing sounds great too!
For the Cantorum Duo, how are the pedals connected to the keyboard?
The Pedalboard is a MIDI pedalboard. It connects to the console with a MIDI cable that comes included with the pedalboard. A friendly reminder that the Cantorum Duo has already been discontinued since late last year. And as of now, the Cantorum Duo Plus (powered by Physis Plus) replaces it. - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgans Thank you for your help! I’m considering getting a Trio Plus and you are helping greatly!
On most clonewheels Pipe Organ is an afterthought, so this is quite a selling point.
Wooohooo. What a machine!
Only two things Viscount could add to make this instrument perfect and unique: melotron emulation and string machine emulation. Just think about it. Having Hammond/VOX/Farfisa layered with melotron/string machine sounds, fully costumizable. Instant ProgRock gratification. Plus the Church organs... wow. I can definitly see Pink Floyd's Soucerful of Secrets and Astronomy Domine being perfectly recreated on it.
Well now, I hope they listen to you. I'm fine with the Soul being the way it is, but those professional giggin musicians would sure benefit from a melotron rendition. I own a Melotron rack unit and a Waldorf STVC for the 70's rock thing. Having organs, melotron and strings all in one place would sure be tempting.
Alice, have you considered sharing this idea with the international headquarters of Viscount? If you haven't, be sure to share this idea with them. Here is where you can contact them and share this idea with them: www.viscountinstruments.com/contact-us/ - Jonny
@@classicviscountorgans I agree. I will send request as well. You guys are LEGENDS
@@classicviscountorgans Done.
There are plenty of other boards you could sit on top of the 261 to get your non-organ sounds live - Nord Electros have good Mellotron, Solina and Piano samples and aren't crazy expensive
Could you do one for the Trio model? I’m thinking about buying one and I’d like to hear it played.
Hi there Jonah. The Trio has already been discontinued not to long ago and the newly announced Trio Plus (powered by Physis Plus) is taking its place as we're expecting a shipment of them to North America later this Summer.
