    Awesome playing and great for solo entertainment where you have time to switch up but when you play in a Band you have multiple Keyboards set up for the necessary input that includes synthesizer. But you did a great job with your demo.

    So the Soul 273 (which has the 12 reverse keys, only weights 58 lbs???
    I had thought that with the wooden case it would be much more.
    This would be so much easier on the back than vintage B3. LOL
    These Viscount organs are really nice. I really do like this Soul 273 model.
    As for the Rotary simulator, one thing that I wish Viscount would off is the ability to connect a SPECIAL "rotary speak" box that has say 5 or 6 full speakers arranged in a circle where it would imitate a Leslie by moving the sound around all the speakers.
    I suspect that right now, it uses just stereo outputs to achieve that. But I wonder how it would sound with a special speaker box. You know, for those who don't have space for an actual Leslie.
    I'm one of those. LOL I had to get rid of my old Leslie 122 due to space constraints.
    Now all I have is a "vertical" "Leslie" that I made a few years ago. Its nice, doesn't take up a lot of room, but is very limited in power. It only has 1 speaker, so no tweeters spinning... sadly.

    Hmm, i like the pure organ tone. Not so much different to my legend solo i think. But when it comes to overdrive....come on....this is far away from a B3+122 or 147. It sounds very harsh...no crunchy warm tube overdrive. Neo Vent 2 is still much better. And best is to have a real Leslie in the setup. I play my Viscount with a 122. Big difference to the internal Leslie sim. My opinion.

    • @PaulHarrisonmusician
      @PaulHarrisonmusician 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I own this organ. Spent £3000 on it. The action and the ergonomics, together with the features, are untouchable. But the Leslie sim hasn’t got better from the Legend Live. In fact it’s downright poor by 2024 standards. I bought a Neo Vent II to use with it. Much better animation, much warmer, and the overdrive is in a different universe.

      @geldo7921 & @PaulHarrisonmusician , Are you two by any chance aware that the effects (including Overdrive) are customizable with the Viscount Legend Soul Editor? Has no one ever told you this? This is what I'm referring to: th-cam.com/video/f83iUQeCUtQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fSiuv-9FolcyWQrO&t=433

      Hi Jonny. Yes, I"m fully aware of the editor. but IMO none of the available settings of the overdrive (and there are less than on the original Legend) make the algorithm sound good. @@classicviscountorgans

    • @geldo7921
      @geldo7921 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@classicviscountorgansYes of course i know the editor. For chorus settings, i used it to tweak the sound a bit. But for Overdrive I think it does not make any sense to me. Whatever you do there, it never sounds like a tube overdrive. I have the neo Ventilator II here, and also a vintage Leslie 122. The Ventilator is very very close. But viscount....sorry....there's work to do (-: But i like the viscount anyway....with my 122.

    Would you please do a video dedicated solely to the Church and Transistor organs? I'd like to know how the bars/stops work for those.
    Can you get a convincing Vox Panther/Corinthian/Jaguar sound? Can you get a convincing Farfisa Dual (a la Pink Floyd)?

    Impressive until you came up with the "pipe" organ or "church" sounds - ugly beyond belief, except the "gospel" setting(s) and that was OK. I used to play a big "concert" model Hammond (can't recall actual model umber/name) and that was capable of very useable "church" sounds, typical Hammond, "middle-of-the-road" - of course, and some very good jazz sounds. This Viscount model seems really suited to "rock" genres. (I was referencing the true Hammond brand, not the recent user of that name).

    No two notes on a real Hammond B3 has all 9 keyswitches connecting after the first month. One tone comes in first followed by the rest, depending which black AME "musician" has been banging on it for a drum, bending the wires. Computers are too precise and never get that right. They also don't hum when someone pushes the 122a Leslie up against the low end so the mag hum from the motors gets into the collector coils...

  • @organeu

    Hammond organ ? simply copy of Hammond, bad copy. They have not great imagination at Viscount. Lovers of Hammond play on Hammond, not on copy. So, great musician.
