Not sure if it was already mentioned in comments, but the reason why was many of former tracks were replaced (most notably those associated with Krusty Krab, like The Tip Top Polka, The Girl I Left Behind or Tripping Upstairs) is because Viacom (or Nickelodeon, I'm not 100 % sure about this) did not renew the contract with Carlin Production Music (now Warner-Chappel), who own rights to them. It's basically cheaper to request show composers like Nick Carr, Sage Guyton or Jeremy Wakefield to create a new track, that sadly does not constitute for originals. Until they were given a proper names, they were mostly known as Sailor Stings among Spongebob music community. Their names were later revealed by composers themselves. Don't get me wrong - I love what the composers are doing for show, and I still enjoy many of their works, even if some find it obnoxious, but they just can't replace the original "sailor" tracks. The reason that some tracks occasionally pop-up is because Viacom still has likely contract APM Music and KPM Music, so they don't 100 % rely on their in-house composers. I'm one of these people who are genuinely glad that some old track returned. I'm still waiting on return of The West Side Rumble by Sam Spence in one episode.

The wrath of Cortex seems to be one of those types of games. It’s not outright bad, but once it’s small issues start piling on top of each other it messes with the whole experience. Though I wouldn’t say it killed the series.

This is the perfect title because even tho I grew up watching Halloween town on Disney channel on cable T.V I grew out of it fast after watching the movie like twice. I preferred twitches which honestly hasn't aged well either tbh.

it's literally so crazy to get older and realize that not everyone loved halloweentown high. it was my absolute fave as a kid, but when i did a rewatch some years ago, all i thought was: "was this movie always like this?" idk, it hit less, but i'll continue to say it's my fave bc of the nostalgia.

Tbh I still love all four of the movies. I was really young when the fourth one came out and have a lot of nostalgia for it. I watch the movies every year but mostly I end up skipping the third and fourth just because the vibes are so different.

3:23 well it was the first movie franchise to make 4 movies but it’s not the only the franchise to have 4 movies. “High School Musical” has 3 movies with a spinoff movie with “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure” then the “Descendants” franchise has 3 movies with a 4th movie spinoff “Descendants: The Rise Of Red” & there’s supposed to a part 2 which make it 5 movies which would make history. The “Zombies” franchise also has 3 movies with a 4th one on the way. Even these aren’t direct sequels they r spin offs I mean u could basically say the same thing about “Return To Halloweentown” since most of the original cast aren’t even in the movie.

And I prefer the twitches movies I out grew halloweentown. Even if they take twitches off Disney plus I still have digital copies of the movies

the fact that they decided to switch the actress that played Marnie out, that was the absolute defining factor for me for what made that movie suck we didn't need Sara Paxton They did a HalloweenTown where there's no familiar cast no familiar settings. We literally just have the mother and the brother. Who cares. The third film is not great, but it's definitely not worse than the fourth one. I was highly disappointed that Luke was not there, as he was one of my favorite characters. The fact that we don't see Halloween Town at all was also upsetting. The fact that Sophie wasn't in it used to be upsetting to me until I found out it's because the actress no longer wanted to act. So I understand why she wasn't there and yes it's upsetting but it's also her own prerogative. There was no need for the grandmother in the 3rd....

Personally I love the fourth film and thought Sarah was very charming and likable as Marnie. I don’t agree with the recasting but I thought she did fine. I also hate that people think they can trash her when this was clearly not her fault. As she’s said people send her hateful messages this time of year. I’m glad four exist because if it ended on three that would been a very underwhelming finale. If they do a Halloweentown 5 I hope they don’t just ignore the 4th film.

I actually prefer Return To Halloween Town over Halloween Town High. While the later has the original cast, it just didn't really feel like a Halloween Town movie when so much of it takes place in the human world. The new characters were largely forgettable too. I didn't like recasting Marnie as much as the next person and the forced love story entirely due to High School Musical, but it had a more interesting storyline, more memorable villains and a better climax. It still isn't as good as the first two movies, but I thought it was a better note to end the franchise on than Halloween Town High all things considered. I'm also not sure how Kimberly J. Brown would have fit into the arc they had for Marnie when she comes off as more immature about magic than one would expect after what she went through the first three movies. I never really considered Sara Paxton as a Disney Channel star either. That being said, Return to Halloween Town barely having Debbie Reynolds is a huge loss since she is such a key component as to why these movie are so charming in the first place.

Sophie had the biggest drop of any main character I’ve seen. Starts out as potentially the most powerful, has less hints in the sequel, barely more than a cameo in the third one, and completely absent from the fourth. Complete wasted potential!
