what lift and tires are you running?
@@ryley12345 4" lift and 35s
Are you sure that's a 96? My 96 f150 has to be pulled out from the inside.
@@tomwise1us it's a 1994. They should all be the same because of the cab design
Where did you send it to ?
What other issues did you have along with the pcm issue. I'm having trouble myself and I'm no mechanic but trying to fix this jeep myself
@@KaylaNicholeZingrich it's been so long that I can't really remember what other issues were present. I did find a few broken wires going to the pump before the pcm replacement.
Congrats on the new edition.🎉
Thank you, he just turned two a few months ago
Not bad at all. Good job.
I think mine just took a dump on me today......turned a corner and hit the gas, truck shut off after 50 feet and would not run anymore. Had to flat bed it home. grrrrr things are getting harder and harder to fine now days.
Any problems with rubbing the 33’s?
@cameronwilliams980 only at full lock up front and when the rear suspension started to twist up. If I would have bought 33x10.50s I wouldn't have had either issue
I do have a question is the pcm the same as the ECM?
where to you send them for repair
You have to pull it out and get the number off the back , they make 4 different ones, the guy at advance auto told me , 2 of the are around $115 and 2 are at 220, not sure the difference, pulling mine this weekend.
I'm wondering how big a mess it is to replace the box where the relays go. Mine was burned on one end when the power steering or cruise control caught fire.
Clear and concise. Just a thought, I just learned that the PCM also controls the transmission after months of trying to figure out where the "TCM" was located..... If that could be dubbed in. Thanks!
Can u make a video how to install the bug shield please or how it’s installed
I haven't even thought of that, but I could do a quick run down of how to install one
Super helpful but wish we could get some ford truck and van videos without the southern accent for once. With all due respect of course.
All the northern obs trucks have long since rotted into the dirt lol
Where do you send it out for repair?! Thanks
Great video ! I replaced my ecm capacitors but it does not want to turn on now !! What do you recommend Mave?!
Hi...wy it you said that computer it was the problem...what Simmons...please
Did you ever make that video on Diag of the ecm and how you knew it was bad?
I didn't get the chance to, unfortunately
Four real parts he forgot jags racing a bunch of places sell them
If theres a bad or faulty pcm. Can it cause engine to misfire and everything else not work?
Thanku I have a 96 f350 diesel pick up and y’all’s videos help
I wish you would have shown how you got the ECM plug off. I've been wrenching on that 10mm bolt holding it on for a long time and it's still stuck on.
Ok i have a jeep 99 grand cherokee. The issue i have is very intermittent. Sometimes the power windows will malfunction either in the up "closed" position or down " open" position. When this happens the air conditioner will stop blowing cold air. It will still blow air just not cold. I just had the air conditioner charged. Any ideas why these happen together? Because it sucks when the windows are closed and they malfunction in the middle of the arizona summer.
It is the powertrain control module not ecm
Thnx bud huge help.
You should never re-use u bolts, they get rusty and old
The real reason Is because the threads will stretch. You can chase the threads and re-use them in a pinch, though.
I have a 92 f150 custom it over heated and has been stuck in limp mode ever since I hoping it's just the brain. Any thoughts?
😂 How many wheel bearings have you been through ? The ttb sucks in this explorer years.
None. The TTB is as only as bad as the owner and how well they treat/maintain it.
They have a back to back wheel bearing. Can't handle big tires 😫
Where did you purchase the brackets, springs, pitman?
@@Roscoesadie I bought all of these used. You can still buy lift kits from most major suspension companies
@@mavsfabshop no you can't. Everything is discontinued
What did you end up with for a pinion angle?
@darrelljenkins3935 honestly, I don't remember. I think it was somewhere around 3°
Nice! What size are those sockets? I have the lund kit but like those sockets better.
I used ¼"/20 nut serts
My mechanic says I need to replace the brain of my 1996 f150 is the ecm what he’s talking about?
Honestly, I'm not sure what he would define as a brain
I have a 94 Ford F150, 4.9 L four-wheel-drive. I pulled the ECM out and replace the capacitors and it took care of everything that was running weird on my pick up. My truck was stuck on high idle. Replacing the capacitors made this truck run great. Thank you for the video.
We’re are located that plcaoacitors I have same problem that fule pump stay on on my ford bronco
@@Purosanluispotosi in the distributor box, the #1 relay could be the issue, swap that relay with the horn relay ( the relays are the same) and test it. could be the issue
Where did you send it out too?
Definitely helped me I'm trying to pull it out and inspect it
Thanks for the great video. I lost fire with a check engine light. I got a code reader and read code 211 failed PIP circuit. I replaced the PIP sensor to return control to the ignition coil. But I found a comment that failing capacitors in the PCM can cause the same OBD1 code 211. I need to check/replace them so I don't end up on the roadside a third time.
Thanks man I thought I was going to have to take the dash out.
Helped me thank you
Where did you get the ecu sent off to
I'm glad you had some help Maverick! 🙂👍 Looks like you two had fun as well 🤣 Ole Scarlett sounds great my friend, keep at it when you can. Happy wrenching 🔧🔩
Yeah we had quite a bit of fun, and thanks a bunch, Zane. I think you'd like what John over at @onewrenchrodeo is doing!
Plug-in hybrid diesel. Genius!!! 😅😅😅😅
I always unplug those so there's not a fire i wondered why they was always pissed the next morning
No you don't
Me at my apartment complex with no outside sockets
Sucks to suck 😂
I was expecting a crack head in a tent at the other end
Lmfao
That would have been funny 😂
Back in high school weed keep bbq charcoal and just light a fire under the oil pan about 20 minutes before we wanted to leave when it was 20f or lower.
Just because it’s a 100’ extension cord doesn’t mean you gotta use all 100’ of it…
didn’t know if it was just me or not
I paid for the whole cord, so I used the whole cord 😂
@@mavsfabshop yeah that’s valid your right lol
This is legendary
Where would you recommend buying a pcm from? I was actually about to pull the trigger on a pcm from FS1, i have it in the online kart ready for check out but this is making me have second thoughts on buying from them
Honestly, I'd look at rock auto or your local parts store to buy one.
@@mavsfabshop right on, I've checked out the big three auto/o/napa and the only reason I didn't go with napa was the price but if 100$ extra and a couple hours OT is worth a better quality product for my girls ride and safety then hell yeah. Hell yeah man thanks for the input, I appreciate the help!
Lol been there done that.
