"Out of the frying pan into the FRYER" -Anderson. Why is it everything.Kyle says is freaking awesome?!? It's like there's a little bit of Josiah Bruce in all of us.
Anna's surname means 'Stone' if anyone is interested. Curious to know if Jeremiah chose her last name as in 'this chick is hard as stone' on purpose? Great rp as always fellas!
Thank you! I passed that info on to Jeremiah BTW. No idea if it was intentional. -Adam
@@DorkDayAfternoon That's the curse of the older brothers: we want what's best but can only advise, then we have to act all suprised when it all comes crashing down. Co robić? What can one do?
"I would have to create a TH-cam channel to respond. I'm lazy, and that seems like a whole thing. I typically google the most common names based on where the character is from and pick one out of a hat. This one is most certainly a happy accident because it fits her well." -Jeremiah
I agree, nice to put faces with voices after all this time. I have been playing catch up.
Trees apologise to Emmett for wasting the Carbon Dioxide he works so hard to produce.

What’s your method for battle map generation?
I generally use the maps from the box sets. I use roll20, up loaded the images onto there and scaled them. Then I add multiple maps together to make larger maps. I have also used maps from Serotonin-Ronin-Games in the past.
@ thank you!
I'd like to say that in Poland it doesn't rain nearly as much as it does in this game!
Actually Harrison wouldnt have assumed the sound he heard was a tank. American tanks have gas turbine engines; Soviet tanks(except for experimenting with the T-80) have diesel engines. Completely different sounds altogether.
Point of order: given the deprivations he’s been subjected to, and an almost total lack of functioning logistics, how is Jacob still high AF?
@@n.t.s. drugs are a rampant problem in warzones since forever. Vietnam was probably the best example however while i was in Afghanistan we had several soldiers piss hot on drug tests... junkies will always find a way. Even in hell itself.
While Emmitt is shrouded in plot armor, he wrapped his son in composite armor instead, getting him into an armor unit
Really cool to see someone else playing twilight 2000!
Seriously what is this Thanksgiving everyone is talking about? What are you thankful for...that you are not the turkey?
I am not a fan of "traditional" Thanksgiving. I'll eat it, and enjoy it, but my ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) compels me to eat different foods on Thanksgiving. We haven't done a taco Thanksgiving, but fuck you Adam, we're doing it next year.

Jeremiah has such a range of characters...you wouldn't believe that Jacob and the Major or Clarke and Walentyn could come from the same mind. Well done you.
Can’t help but notice that you guys completely dodged the white-meat/dark-meat debate…
Gotta save something for next year. Lol
There is no debate, dark meat is better.
Soviets are thankful when Emmett isnt on the battlefield. Emmett is thankful for when he gets to remind Soviets that Thanksgiving is an American holiday and they shouldnt get their hopes up
What's the name of the Xenophobes? Sheperd's Flock? They sound pretty bad ass actually. You got a website or a phone number to join? :P

Yea misspoke, thought about editing it. But decided it was fine
Radiation sickness? Hack hack phlegm.. gollum... Gollum
Lovin' this WHO angle to Twilight over here. What a great campaign Adam keep it up.
Shame that such a magical horse that doesnt need hay for days and travels at night has no name. Maybe that's where his magical horse powers from. Like the horse from the song. "I've been collecting water with a horse with no name, it feels good cause Kyle just rolled for rain. La la la, LA la la la la."
Between Radom and Lublin is the Wisła River equidistant at the town at Puławy. There is a bridge, but three years of war might have destroyed it. That or it might be in enemy hands. All depends on how devious Adam is feeling. 👿👿👿
*When you can play a whole range of characters from different countries and socioeconomic groups, but your GM makes you RP a dying, gurgling death rattle anyway*
Jeremy you do Polish characters so well I feel like I'm listening to relatives at a wedding. When you say 'Something something to Kraków' try adding an A at the end and losing the OOF that the mark implies. ex. "Taking the women and children to Krakowa"(CRA-koh-va). Also, there is the IE ending for the locative case. Ex. "The helicopter in Krakowie"(cra-KOH-veeyeh). This realism will take your characters to new heights. Maximum respect to a boss.
Vis a vis the tackle and block by Emmett and Capt. Michaels, I thought NPCs couldn't push rolls?
Technically they can, but in certain situations. I usually just have them not. On page 47 of players handbook "NPCs only rarely push rolls however - the Referee should save this for key NPCs in important situations."
@@DorkDayAfternoon I'm glad Free League gives final say so to GMs. GDW was like that too.
If I hit thumbs down before, I apologize. Meant thumbs up.
@@DorkDayAfternoon Meh TH-cam...expect the unexpected! as the saying goes.
Polish has essentially two Ls: one with a line, one without. The one without the line is like the English L; the one with the line or strike through it is a bit more problematic. It makes the W or 'wuh' sound. The city Łódź is pronounced WOODGE. Łódź. W-O-O-D-G-E. Think of the tough language as a natural mechanism to keep the riff raff out.
Lol
I know an American who said he was from Colorado. He might be full of sh*t because he said he shot a coyote at 100 yards with a lever action 30/30 over open sights. He claimed that he tried to feed it to his Alaskan Malamutes but they wouldn't touch the coyote meat because his dogs 'weren't cannibals'. The only thing I could think of was that the meat wasn't cooked properly because he cooked the coyote over an open flame. Have you guys heard of dogs not eating dog meat before? Adam/Jeremy what state are you guys from?
You guys couldve taken those Soviets herding prisoners. I bet Adam wouldve let you take out 3-4 of them at the begining if you all wouldve fired simultaneously from ambush.
Chris what village is your babcia from? If it's a long one I'll help you pronounce it! ;-)
Unfortunately, she passed in the summer of 1991, so I don't know the answer. Her surname was Borecki. She was an amazing grandma, she used to tell me to give her a boujie (sp?) meaning kiss, and a few other Polish words. Her front yard had an American flag with a Polish flag below it.
They should have been given a chance to act to avoid instead of being automatically damaged by the walkers. Jeremy should have been able to avoid that falling damage with a skill roll...
Little did our adventurers know, that these would be thought of as the happy times.
Fellas it's Kalisz(CAH-leesh) and it's well known all over Poland because it;s the oldest town in the country. It's got many bridges throughout(even in the city center) and a cheap place to buy workout supplements. 🙂
@@ChrisPfiefer-z1c sadly, it wasnt Kalisz in this episode they were butchering the name of. Kielce is the one they kept pronouncing like Kalisz. Szczekociny is the one from this episode.
@@DorkDayAfternoon SORRY I was not enslaved for my ability to pronounce city’s
@@DorkDayAfternoon shche-ko-CHEE-nih. In Polish every syllable is pronounced, all syllables except the second to last one are said softly in order; second to last one is emphasized. Szczekociny. shch (said blended - sh-ch)-eh-ko-CHEE-nih. I don't know about 4th ed lore but the US 5th Mechanized Division is only in Poland a month in V1 rules. It's more realistic characters would know more German than Polish. If Adam does his homework he knows theres generations of Poles that worked as hired help in Germany and have picked up quite a bit of that language in their travels. Fewer still work in London and have decided to come back. Most Poles that made it to the West considered it the be all and end all of peak acheivement. There's a show from the 60's called Four Tankers And A Dog about WW2 filmed in black and white. Le ebil Germans were played by Poles, and the 'German' used by the enemy painted on walls or tank hatches is a mix of English and German. Can you imagine? The producers must have been using trained apes to do the translating for them. That's how hard it is with languages.
@@brianpolen2167 pronounce cities*, and you're right, your character would be stationed in Germany for some time and would doubtless know German instead of Polish. There are however exceptions. If Polen is your surname it is German for Poland, so you might be descended from ethnic Poles living in Germany. That, or you just randomly chose it cause it sounds cool - no one uses their real names on the internet these days.
@@ChrisPfiefer-z1c name is actual and proved my point that I can’t even spell properly in my native tongue. Emmett is a well seasoned vet I am uncultured swine 😅
Adam have you had a chance to GM T2K first or second versions? If you had, I was going to ask how version four differs as a GM from 1/2.2?
Have not gotten to GM 1st or 2nd. When I played back in the day it was as a PC. -Adam
@@DorkDayAfternoon How are your experiences comparable between GM and player? Is it still fun as GM? More fun? Less fun? What's your prep time like for every hour you guys record poscasts? 1 to 1? 1.5 to 1? 2 to 1?
Listening to this highly underated series from the begining to see if there's anything I missed. Let's gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Emmett is a one legged man in an ass kicking contest which he can win with both feet tied behind his back.
"Wstać!(VSTACH!)" or "Nie ruszaj się!(NYE ROO-shay SHIEH!)" are two ways Nowak could have told LT to FREEZE. It's not polite conversational speech, I don't reccomend you shouting it at random Polish people you don't know that well.
Hey! You are all caught up?
@@DorkDayAfternoon I am. I've started listening to it all over from the beginning. maybe catch something I missed first time around. :-)
For Jeremy: th-cam.com/video/avD-GRmIoK8/w-d-xo.html
Remember that Bartek isn't a stand alone name; it's a nickname, short for Bartosz or Bartłomiej. A rough guide is that if you hear a man's name and it ends in -ek, that's his familiar name saved for family or close friends.
FUN FACT: Polish baby names are from an (albeit large) list. You just don't make up any name and name the child that like in the West. That's why Poles seem to vary little on the names front. You don't leave the hospital with a name like Billy Bob or Shaniqua.
Good to finally put faces to voices...great RP fellas great job!
According to a quick net search we have bat spiders. Almost 50 years and I can't remember seeing one. Don't believe everything you read in the internet I guess is the thing to take away from this little thought exercise.
We say Wisła(VEE-swah) when talking about the mighty river that snakes through our magical country. Vistula is life on easy mode for fat English tourists.
The kid from Home Alone is popular here. No one knows why. They play his movies on tv every Christmas like clockwork. People put the movies on in the backround and then have dinner on Xmas Eve. Go figure.
@@ChrisPfiefer-z1c our family's go to Christmas movie is Scrooged. -Adam
@@DorkDayAfternoon That makes sense. Bill Murray is a freaking legend. "ARMY TRAING, SIR!!" -Bill Murray, Stripes. McCaulie Freaking Caulkin? What the actual eff?!?
You guys woulda been using SINCGARS by the time WW3 rolled around: they were in inter-branch widespread use since the early 90s and in game play would allow Adam as a GM to allow the characters to listen to air traffic too(with a slight twist of rules since the radios of different units wouldnt be synced up to hop freqs together).
So is Kyle like Will Ferrel IRL or does he just play that way? Mannerisms are a dead ringer.
Adam just call him Sebastian; it's a common name over here. If a Pole isn't named Seba he knows one who is.
I love how Murph constantly bad mouths his country and Jabloński is seemingly oblivious to it all.
Jabloński is pronounced with a Y if anyone cares...(ya-BLON-ski)...always emphasis on second to last syllable on Polish words.
SKINIENIE is nod as in nod of the head; UKLON is bow as in taking a bow. Nice to see Jabloński putting that creepy vibe out there as always. 😁😁😁
Lol thats what happens when you google translate. Lol
