    Do you cook the head? Does it taste good? I left the feet on my roasted duck and they were heavenly. Crispy and incredibly delicious.

      Hi mate , I haven't had any sticking when cooking normally. It's all down to heat control .

    If you're trying to bake stuff in the Trangia why not try the smaller 27 bowl inside the larger 25 bowl, with spacers and put the big frypan on the 25 bowl? That way there'd be warm air all around the bowl and maybe you could get a crust.

    Good that you cooked this in the hard anodised pots, I don't think it's safe to do this in the normal ultralight pots. At least Trangia recommend not to cook acidic foods in them

    A good reminder as I begin planning outings for summer and fall. The National Outdoor Leadership Schools "Wilderness Guide" emphasizes expedition planning and leadership. I reference it often, even more than sources from my USMC days. Thank you.

    Immediately sub'd. ! In my area of Arizona, fires are risky at certain times of the year. Putting together a Trangia Cookbook. My wife and I eat this at home. Now, I will take it to the field.

    Dry baking in this is super efficient. Could you use a silicone egg ring as a spacer.

    Baffles me why Trangia have never made Hard Anodised kettles. Nice kit though, I shall start saving. Thanks for sharing.

      Yes I agree, I have a set of trangia size stainless steel pots and use my eagle products kettle or gsi kettle I know its heavier but more robust, even a titanium set would be kool, appreciate your comment and support 😀 👍

    Trangia 25 was first made in 1925, 27 was made in 1927, 28 in 28. That's what I learned in a forum on the Internet, so I know it to be true.

    You will kill your anti stick layer if you put it over high/medium high heat without stuff in it besides of spacers.

      It's not non stick and is doing OK so far but thanks for your concern, I am putting through it paces to see what it can be put through and is doing well so far, thanks for commenting 😊

    That looked blooming lovely. I look forward to trying this. I would be tempted to cook it for a shorter period and let it finish with the pan wrapped in a cloth. It would soon solidify as it cools and the taste will improve. Thanks for sharing 👍

    Wouldn’t it be good if the instruction booklet told practically all TH-camrs how to pronounce ‘Trangia’ correctly - the G is said like garlic or girl, not like German or gel.

    Great video Chris. It was lovely to see you both out & about again. Wales is beautiful, in a way it reminds me of Scotland. Make sure you get that knee sorted, you might need to get it aspirated. Poor John, hope he wasn't traumatised to much. Looking forward to your next adventure.

    Nice one fellas 👍 re your knee, my lad recently tore his cartilage and a physio has been mapping his recovery as he’s desperate to get back to the mountains if possible. Apparently your weight is multiplied more than double when walking downhill and like you experience I know all about the extra aches and pains which occur downhill 🙈👀. Hopefully rest and rehab will see you back to full fitness before too long 🤞🍻

      I hope your lad recovers soon so he can get back to what he loves doing, I hate being injured but it's part of life, just got to make good choices, yes with regards to down hill pressure that's why I use polls it saves your legs massively and even more so now I am getting older lol, appreciate your feedback and support 😀

    Awesome mate, 100% the right decision there. if you had pushed on and got to the peak your injury would likely take 3x as long to recover and put you out of action for possibly for a couple of weeks. Better to fight another day matey.

I think we just had one of those weather fronts that was particularly bad and constant, but it added to the experience 👍 and agree time is a healer and glad things have gotten easier, also sorry for your loss.
