Hi Neil, hope the test goes well , coming up for my second psa test in July . Ken , Leeds
@@kwooffindin cheers Ken thanks for your support. Hopefully I will get the undetected again. Still feeling very fatigue but getting there. Appreciate you watching the videos.
Thank you for making the video have learned so much from this, wish you all the best lm one week into my treatment.
Appreciate your comment Rob, any questions about radiation you can email me if want Neil.davidson5959@btinternet.com and I'm more than happy to answer and help you through it. Don't be scared to ask any question no matter how small. I am a 6 weeks ahead of you mate so still going through the side affects. Please ask anything
Fantastic news Sheep. Really made up for you.
Cheers again scoinsy lad. Looks like to be going in right direction mate.
I was diagnosed in September 2014, so nearly ten years ago.. I was stage T3B locally advanced so I had radiotherapy and ADT and am still on Enzalutamide and Decapetyl. I have a PSA test and an appointment with the oncologist every two months.. I'm still doing ok.. Diagnosed at Leicester General and treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary. I was 62 years old when starting treatment in January 2015.. I think, choose the treatment with the least side effects.. Disclaimer, I have no medical knowledge apart from having prostate cancer myself.
Hi Neil, well done. still watching mate. Gorleston George
Cheers Gorleston George appreciate it mate. Must catch up for a beer next time I'm down the spoons in Gorleston
Hy Neil x i have been watching but not commenting x I watch all the channels that you have just mentioned 😊 Harry and I were on Tim's channel 3yr ago 😅 that was a laugh x keep well 🙏 x
Mary Ann thx for watching and thanks for watching my little channel. So happy I can be honest and just talk normally about the prostate Journey. It thrives me to think what can I do next for people out there. I'm not worried about myself but I know lots of people have anxiety about what is upcoming. I try to be the guinea pig and show them how it really works. Again I videoed a radiation session a month or 2 back. Boring to most but as long as 1 person found it useful it's all that matters to me. Journey hasn't finished yet and still suffering with fatigue after radaiton bit Rome want built in a day. So many thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Thanks
Larry your a diamond geezer mate. So many thanks from here in the UK for your donation. You always watch and follow my channel mate. You were top of my people who I don't know personally to mention. My parents always said look after those who look after you. Cheers bud.
Thanks Neil - your advice has been very welcome and allayed some of my concerns and it was good to see the one on the radiology treatment. I am starting my 33 doses next Wednesday 26th June and having last week had my planning scan, I am much more relaxed. Thanks again. Regards, Graham.
Graham, i'm sure all will be fine. Just listen to your body and don't overdo things. For 6 weeks of your life just try and relax and not stress over anything. Thanks for your continued support mate
@@neildavidson7768 Thanks, Neil. Will take your advice. Regards Graham.
Thanks for replying Neil I was told in 2022 I had prostate cancer gleason 6 had mri Aug 2023 ask to have another biopsy Apr 2024 with the cancer ncancer now gleason 7 witch I've agreed to have it removed so waiting for the date for the operation thanks again for your help your doing really well Neil
Nigel, again my email is neildavidson5959@btinternet.com anything you want to ask please ask. Did you look at my videos from last year about the tips tricks and advice. There is some good advice about after the operation there
Hi ya Neil I'm just trying to email you but comes up message not sent
neildavidson5959@btinternet.com
Good morning Neil, I have been a follower for a few months. As a bloke in his seventies I take my health seriously and feel blessed to be reasonably fit and well. I had my first solo holiday in Tenerife last year and met Tim, Webby and Col on a charity walk in November. Also bumped into Rick. Your no nonsense approach to your health journey and your vlogs are inspiring Neil. Carry on looking after yourself and take care sir.
100% thanks for your comment Tony. Yes Rick and Tim have helped me promote my channel. I know Rick well and we speak on a regular basis. I have always been upfront and honest about the condition. I'm certainly not scared about talking about things and personally its helped me deal with things. By talking it out releases the tension within. I'm will be over in Los Cris next Paddys day in March where a lot are coming over. Speak soon and appreciate your time
Hi ya Neil from when the Urology tells you gleason score of 7 and your cancer has spread I'm having it removed how long did you have to wait before your operation thanks nigel
Hi Nigel, my timeframe here in Norwich went like this. PSA test Aug 2022 in Latvia, Doctors rectal exam Sept. MRI was September 2022. 16 Biopsies was 23/11/2023. Results 29th Dec 2022. 5 X tumours found 3+4's. Prostatectomy Operation was 3rd April 2023. Relapse PSA 0.2 was January 2024. Radiation Apr/May 2024, next PSA 21ST July. Hope that helps
Hello Neil, the sudden increase in your subscribers is the result of honest sharing in the realm of prostate cancer and the like. Naturally your honesty symbolizes the complexion on your face, Neil. Thank you for the videos and clear explanations given to viewers. Larry in Malaysia
Larry you are a diamond mate. Always appreciate your comments. I even gave you a mention on the vlog. Cheers for your continued support
Thanks Neil Yes. I heard you mentioned of me in your video, overwhelming as it is!! inspite of me living so far away in Malaysia 😊
Thank you Neil for all that you do. The new PSA/dye test will be an important part in the arsenal to treat prostate cancer. 👍🏻
yes youre right general, i will try gain more information so i can explain to all. Many thanks again
Hi Neil, how did you prep in the morning to get your bladder full and your bowels empty? I'm finding some days are easier than others.
Yes your'e right mate. my appointments were always mid to late afternoon. I just had certain bottles of squash every 2hrs until 3pm. Bowel wise i just cut down a lot of food. the biggest problem was the gas. I had a couple of sessions that were put back due to a build up right near the rectum. The enema always released some but not all. For me I could drink alot more than the 450ml at hospital. Due to my age I can keep in 600/800ml which meant the bladder was less the the radiation zone. Keep going mate
With prostate cancer on the rise and 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed in their lifetime. This channel is so helpful. Thanks
so many thanks for taking the time in watching and commenting. I really appreciate the comment and these comments keep me going strong
Great vlog! I will keep my fingers crossed for a low PSA result in July! The fact you are so open has clearly got others thinking. I know that many men find it difficult to talk about and it’s not easy but you are very honest.
Thank you zelda and I gave you a mention in it as well if you watched that far. My number 1 tenerife friend contributor zelda. Always appreciate your comments.
@@neildavidson7768 yes I did hear my name mentioned- thanks.
Your welcome
I'm Mark. Retired MRI and CT technologist. I live in Virginia, USA
Yes, the daily prep and diet changes were the hardest part for me before each treatment. Plus I had to commute 60 miles to get to the cancer center. But all that's completed as of Friday. Best of luck to you. Your videos have been helpful to me.
So appreciate that comment mate. I try to think what I can do next which I slightly different. For me watching the radiation session was good. Again to a lot it's boring but to many it relieves their anxiety. So appreciate your support recently mate.
Thanks! ALL THE BEST!!!!
Mark your a diamond mate. My MRI was favourable before operation. I had a pirads of 2 which is unlikely of being cancer. Wrong!. Again just wanna say many thx for what you contribute to my channel. I never ask for anything from anybody it's not me. All I know I hope the cancer care centre has some good nice choco cookies next time I donate. Appreciate it Mark
Best of luck with next Psa test mate
Thanks
John that's so very kind of you mate. All donations go to a cancer care place which are run by volunteers locally. These are non govermemt funded and are so so valuable to people in the community for somewhere to go and have a tea coffee and more importantly a chat with others. They are so grateful of my subscribers generosity and really appreciate it. Many thanks as always for your support and donation means a lot mate. Hopefully July's psa will be undetected.
Thank you Neil x
More than welcome Tricia x

yes I was happy with the results after 3 weeks. I t gives me the next 5 weeks to try and enjoy the summer knowing the results are going down. I will be doing a video update to reveal the next part of my journey
Thank you for the videos Neil, I go for my surgery in 2 weeks.. very helpful and informative video.

Good to know you are doing well, Neil! 💪
Sugar, many thx for your comment. I'm doing fine to be honest, still tired from the radiation but week by week it's getting better. Radiation just takes time. Psa test mid July which will be 8 weeks after my last dose. Glad I done my 2 random tests in Latvia to be honest, it's good to see it working and the psa going down well. Appreciate your time mate keep well
Thank you, very useful information. I go for my biopsy results next Tuesday 18th June. My hopes for your speedy recovery
Many thanks Steve, I hope your biopsy results come back favourable. It took 5 weeks for mine to come back. The wait was the killer. Many thx for watching and commenting
That is good he hear Neil, your getting better. Have you changed your diet? and if you have can you talk how you changed it.
Hawkman appreciate your time. To be honest I haven't changed a thing. Nobody have told me nothing about diet etc, 1 other viewer was saying about processed foods etc but no nothing have been said, cheers for watching.
@@neildavidson7768 Hey, Neal. I am a Prostate cancer survivor as well. I had a prostectomy in November of 2020. Its all indivdual choice but, let me share something with you. I am African American , my father had prostate cancer and chose radioactive seeds, my brother had prostate cancer , had a prostectomy and became a vegan. My father died 2 years ago from prostate cancer, my brother is still living. Food, has alot to do with it. For sure, no processed meat, if you have beef, grass feed, if you have chicken, it should be free range. Pick up the veggies, with vigourous excercise and keep your weight down and no chared meat. I am no doctor, so any who reads this know, I am not providing medical advice. I would say, check the internet there is alot of information about this. It seems diet is key, continued good luck and success and health to you.
Thanks for sharing again Neil and the best of all great news Neil let’s all hope it continues in the downward trend
As always Al many thx for your support. That beer is getting closer. If results are good then I might have 2!!!
@@neildavidson7768 welcome to 2 Neil
Hi from Hong Kong. Glad to hear your PSA has come down. I would have done the PSA tests too in order to know where you are going. It was already a year ago when I did the surgery with positive margins. Fortunately my PSA so far remains undetectable.
Many thanks for watching in Hong Kong. Glad your psa is undetected. I thought for a very small price I was curious to see what it had came down to after 3 weeks. Hopefully I will get the undetected in another month's time. Appreciate your time
You are getting good results. Thank you for being positive and keeping your chin up. 👍🏻
general top man thx for continuing to watch my vlogs
Great news, my friend! I was diagnosed last year with prostate cancer Gleason 3+4, PSA 5.6. I had 28 radiation treatments with 3 months pf Lupron therapy. I was the unfortunate 5% that experienced all the treatment hardships and indescribably pain for 5 weeks. Two months out from treatment, I feel great, no pain, bleeding, etc. Next PSA test in two months! God speed to all of us who travel this road.
Anthony, my gleason and PSA was exactly the same as yourself. No hormone therapy for me. i've no doubt if the latest radiation hasnt' worked then that's my next route. Glad youre feeling better now mate. Speak soon and thanks for watching my little updates
Hi Neil 100% your choice on checking psa figures and at what intervals, i had 39 r/t sessions and adt for 18 months, 0.03 psa at the moment and will get checked again around Christmas, god bless all those on the pc journey
Thx Carl, 0.03 is a great reading mate. Hopefully mine will get that low. Signs are good so far. Cheers bud for watching
Hello Mate, just watched your latest update that’s really promising news looks like everything is moving in the right direction for you, keep up the good work my friend. All the best to you. 👍
Cheers holtman, yes numbers are looking promising. Still another 5 weeks before NHS psa test. But very happy it's halved in 3 weeks. Cheers bud
This is great news, Neil. Your PSA is going in the right direction following your radiation treatments!
Many thanks for watching Fred's. Yes I hope in a few weeks time it will be undetected. I enjoy doing my little videos to try tell people how it is. Again appreciate your time.
Wish you well from crazybake
thanks crazy, I think a nice apple pie will sort me out!!
Nice one Neil good luck my next PSA in august
I hope you get the perfect result mate. keep well
When strength were the 20 fractions? 60 GY ? Why did you decide on surgery was it your age?
Fred thanks for watching, I believe the greys were 52.5. And yes my age was a major factor for having the surgery.
Great news Neil thanks for keeping us updated🤙
Appreciate your comment and thx for watching
Neil it’s good news that your PSA is down to 0.11.
Yes def Mike, went down to. 0.09 4 days later so coming down well
Another great vlog. Not sure if you saw the interview with Professor Hamdy, a professor at Oxford yesterday, my husband has been under his care for prostate issues. He spoke about what essentially is a dye which glows and ‘clings’ to prostate cancer cells, so they can be seen better. I am sorry about the loss of your partner’s mother. Best wishes for a continued recovery.
Zelda as always many thanks for your continued support. I haven't seen the interview but will Google it now. I had heard about it but was busy yesterday. Hope all OK.
Hi again, Frank from Denver USA. Glad to see you are keeping the faith and doing what you need to do for yourself. There is clearly not good information concerning how to determine cure vs failure after radical prostatectomy, then biochemical recurrence , then salvage radiation. There is a prostate oncologist with 30 plus years treating prostate cancer, Dr Mark Shults, on TH-cam who has good information on a variety of prostate cancer treatment and outcomes. I have just written a comment to him asking to address this topic of when do i know I'm cured? Failure determination is easy because the PSA doesn't go down. As I understand it, radiation doesn't immediately kill the Cancer cells. It damages the DNA of both cancer and non cancer cells. Eventually the normal cells recover, but the cancer cells lose the ability to replicate. How much time that takes i imagine varies person to person and their own cancer particulars. I have my first post radiation treatment PSA scheduled for August, three months after 33 sessions. My understanding about all this us that there is no end to monitoring for PSA recurrence. By the way. Dr Shultz just posted a talk about penile atrophy... important information to know and not much information out there.
good morning Frank, many thx as always for watching my latest little video. I do watch Dr Shultz quite often actually and funny enough i played 1 of his radiation videos on my bluetooth on phone literally 10 mins ago whilst driving to work. I'm happy i done these 2 tests purely because we all read in text books that radiation carries on working after the last dose but to see it practically working is different. there isn't many people who do tests after the event but i thought for £12 for 2 tests why not. It has giving me the confidence that they have got the correct area whilst radiating. Mentally thats so important to me. Again many thanks for taking the time to comment and watch my journey
Hello Neil, Thank you very much for sharing the latest news and progress after the final surgery. I’m happy to hear you are on the mend. The outcome result is an incredible news after 3 weeks surgery. You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem. I pray for you and Speedy recovery! Larry, from Malaysia
Larry my number 1 fan, appreciate it as always. No bravery here mate just want to give people an exact insite to what happens every step of the way
My PSA went up after radiation for 3 months then after a year went to < .04 Unfortunately after a couple more years at it is at .29 ADT coming next
Greg, sorry to hear that PSA went up. Been there done that after the operation so know how you feel mate. Keep strong bud and thanks for watching and commenting
Just had my PSA done last week after 3 months since RAD. 0.001 another test in 3 months. Past readings start 7.4 surgery, 6 months after surgery .060, then radiation 7 weeks now .001.😎AU.
Brilliant result mate, hopefully i will get same results, thx for watching and taking the time to comment
Wishing you all the best from California and God bless you
Appreciate your time to watch and comment on the video randy, many thanks for your kind words
