@@andrescervantes4348 Just type in “e90 CIC head unit” or the part number I have in the description in ebay. Any CIC unit from any e90, e91, e92, e93 from 2009-2013 should work. They are interchangeable. Try to look for the latest build date so you are more likely to find one with the latest C1A software update so you should have no issue coding the navigation. You can see the build date right above the part number. Do everything in this video. My E93 also came with Bluetooth from factory but it was only for phone calls. Bluetooth Audio first appeared on 2011 models.

@@Albertt.c Yes, you have to apply the FSC codes to unlock Navigation, the ability to update the Navigation maps via USB, and Voice Control. All the links to the software you need are in the description.

@@bmwdiy I've been trying to figure this out the past month, I have everything connected and only get audio on the iphone 4s, no video. Wiring and coding done as described. Is this not working because of iOS 9.3.6?

@@mR_Reddexe iOS 9 actually makes the video out feature better since it shows the aspect ratio of the video correctly the first time when selecting the video with the Idrive controller. In iOS 6, you have to re-select the video from the actual iPhone to get the correct aspect ratio, however you do have the ability to use personal hotspot from a newer iPhone to watch TH-cam since the TH-cam app still works on the iPhone 4S on iOS 6 (at least it still did when I did this project in 2020). Are you sure you pushed the pins in all the way when connecting them to the AUX port in the armrest? You should hear a clicking sound to know they are firmly secure. Try putting the clear wire into slot 3 on the AUX port, but I remember it worked without having to do that. Also, try coding the COMBOX as well for CDMM_USB_VIDEO both. The ECU for COMBOX is MEDIA. Also, one more important thing! Are you doing this project on an E60? If so, make sure the USB cable from the armrest USB port goes directly into the COMBOX. Make sure it doesn't pass through the USB hub that was fitted to these E60s that had a MULF unit. That USB hub becomes useless once you get the COMBOX. You will know if there is a direct connection from the armrest USB port to the COMBOX if the album art from your iPhone music app loads quickly in only a few seconds instead of 14 seconds for each song! @@bmwdiy Thanks for quick reply. I'm doing this on my E93. I have the CIC.c1a version and the combox cmediar.c05 I made sure to set the CDMM_USB_VIDEO "both" in the CIC but do not see this in the combox coding. I also made sure to set the CIC AUX1 to wert_21 to signify the FBAS 2,12 video connection. Both the pins in the AUX video connector clicked into place and made sure they were fully seated. I still don't get any video. The CIC still recognizes when the 4s is connected and displays album art and artist. Just no video from movies shows in the spot. Its just a black square where the video is supposed to be with only audio playing

@@mR_Reddexe Is the COMBOX retrofitted or did it come with the car? I think your issue might be that the pin locations for AUX1 may be different on the back of the E93’s CIC than in the E60’s CIC.

A really long cable like the one in the link below. It connects to the blue or black port on the Combox. It’s a lot of work to bring it to the armrest. I would just leave it in the trunk and a connect a USB stick with all your music to it. @@bmwdiy thanks man! I was super surprised when I got the price on the combox at a local parts yard for $11! I’ll be going back because i forgot to get these nice leather wrapped sun visors to replace my fabric ones. I might just buy the cable though and leave it it that back like you said, too much work to pull it off another car. Thanks again though its been too long with my faulty CCC unit!

@@bmwdiy dang I should’ve done more research but I was an hour from home at the only yard that has cic bmws, I had it taken off and e everything but oh well I got the cic parts so I’ll wait for another nearby later on. I can’t wait to get it working

Update got it all in and it works!! Audio works from the radio and previous owners music plays but aux in armrest doesn’t. Im assuming its a coding thing cus I havent done anything yet with that

Yes, and I actually prefer the CCC control knob for the E93 since it’s much more durable. I met someone with an LCI 2011 E93 that had the CIC controller, he left the top down in the rain and the controller was fried. $400 for a new one. Also if you have the top down in the hot sun it might cause the paint on the CIC controller buttons to easily peel and fade.

Can’t find standard tools, but I got mikes easy bmw tools and it has all the same programs in inpa, ncsexpert, ncsdummy etc, but I don’t have the manipulation profile in ncs expert and when I try to start to code like u I don’t get a start button option, I can put the chassis but for the ecu it doesn’t show cas as an option like yours it shows me 7 ecu options in German.. help please I got the head unit and the display and combox installed and only need to code 😅

You have to code the CIC to the VIN of your car since the car that your CIC came from probably had a different sound system option and did not have the USB audio. Watch this video, skip to the part where I show you the coding -> th-cam.com/video/AhwvlACXag8/w-d-xo.html

Ask the seller what year was the car the headunit came from. If it is 2011-2013 then most likely to have C1A. You can see on the sticker on the front of the headunit the build date.
