Filming in the Cairngorms (Scotland)
มุมมอง 166ปีที่แล้ว
We did not expect this weather! What a great surprise to have amazing conditions for filming in the Cairngorms. We took a sleeper train up to Aviemore. Climbed a couple of mountains. Slept a night at Corrour bothy. Trekked back out. A perfect weekend with my good friend George. Please enjoy!
35 day journey with Patamona locals (GUYANA)
มุมมอง 23Kปีที่แล้ว
Huge rapids. Giant waterfalls. Intense jungle. This is the story of my first big expedition - a source to mouth descent of Guyana's remote Potaro River. I made this film in 2009 - I was 22 yrs old and a little obsessed with making a 'first descent'. Now I do expeditions just for the joy of it! Big thank you to my Patamona team mates for keeping me alive (and for putting up with me) Please enjoy!
Expedition WAI WAI: From Guyana to Brazil (PART 2)
มุมมอง 102Kปีที่แล้ว
This is the story of my toughest expedition. Placing my life in the hands of Wai Wai men from Guyana, we journeyed over to Brazil, all the way to the Amazon River. Fishing and hunting to survive - and building a dugout canoe - this was the ultimate test. The great highlight was being in the company of the 3 Wai Wai men. They taught me patience and resilience. They are the masters, and I the app...

Running through Oxford (England)
มุมมอง 280ปีที่แล้ว
This was super fun to make... We started at sunrise and cycled around Oxford, capturing the best of this beautiful city (in just 5hrs of intense filming). Thank you to my stabiliser camera operator Sam (and his dad Alan, the runner) for a brill morning. We hope you enjoy!
Rob Roy On The Danube (TEASER)
มุมมอง 453ปีที่แล้ว
I'm excited to be documenting this eccentric little story. A historic wooden canoe has been restored, and a small team will be paddling it down the Danube River - recreating the original 1866 expedition by John MacGregor.
Sleep in a snow hole (Scotland)

When I was training for my Winter Mountain Leader assessment, I would go out into the mountains; build a snow hole; practise my night navigation; then sleep in the snow hole. It was great fun!

I had a great day filming the founder Tom Bardon, who delivers the training program to aspiring practitioners. Tom is a legend and deserves huge credit for creating this amazing outdoor learning program (which will benefit young people around the UK - and abroad).

Great expedition, thanks for sharing your experience.
You could dredge and build a canal that would allow boats to travel that
I would like to know why the rivers stay in one place is it Rock below ? Is the ground sandy?
Look how awesome they build
Badass
Two of the ones owned by MacGregor are left. One is the first now at the museum in Falmouth, via the Royal Canoe Club facilitated by member the late Peter Wells. The other we think the 5th, or 7th , a 12 footer ,is in the collection of Mystic Seaport Museum in the states, used for the 1872 Orkneys cruise. It got to the states via Poultney Bigelow to whom it was given by MacGregor's widow in 1920 for the New York Canoe Club. MacGregor had Thames boat builders Searle & Co. build all of them.

Seems like Wai Wai the original inhabitants seem to speak with an English Guyanese accent. They do not seem to speak Spanish.
They were never contacted by Spanish . First European was not until 1850s
