Hey there,… looking at your gear ,… you’re a serious Striper/ Bluefish guy….as am I ,.. except the Bluefish…I’m on the west coast… I had a boat rod when I was 8 years old and I snuck out to go Striper fishing… yes,.. a broomstick of a rod about 7’ at best..but I whipped that bucktail just as far as any of these veteran casters… Now I’m ‘63 and I’m whipping a 12’ St. Croix Avid Surf Caster conventional heaver … What I’m getting at is …. sure, you don’t need that $1000 set up … but you’re showing your top shelf setups … your reels start at $1000 a reel …Van Stahl… Shimano Stella..! Younger guys are going to highly disappointed when they realize the cost of these rods & reels you present to your viewers… just sayin…

What rod do you think is better the super surf or the gsb

I removed the treble hooks and replaced them with single 2/0 J hooks or even VMC2/0 inline circle hooks but either way if the fish are there it will still catches fish as is.

The 17 cm models come with 3/0 VMC, 4X strong hooks and very strong split rings. I’m not sure what model you had there.
