Glad you gave the SurfRite Supreme bag some props... that exact bag shown happens to be my bag of choice, it's low rent and forces you to pack light and master the lures you brought for that night instead of "analysis paralysis of swapping out 20 lures over the course of the night ( not to mention giving your location away from the constant velcro tearing). I crapped all over my SurfRite bag for 3 seasons and it held up until the strap failed by the D-Ring like your Shimano bag....and of course the treble snags in the dark. Solid review across a range of bags and prices.
All the bags which are not made from sail cloth are going to suffer from some hook penetration. The material is just not tough enough. Although I have heard from some people that they will tape (electrical tape) the edges. I also have heard from a few that they melt the edges with a hot butter knife which will toughen them up a bit.
Another great video. I've said it before, I really like the gear reviews. I've been looking at getting myself a Flatlander bag hopefully in the near future. Keep up the awesome videos! Stay safe out there
Thanks again, its great getting positive feedback!! I'm trying to up my game each video. Definitely more gear vids and some DIY stuff coming up to save money!!
