No Sugar Pumpkin Muffins | Easy Muffins for Baby or Toddler
I have been scouring the internet for several days for a truly sugar-free pumpkin muffin recipe for baby and was struggling and about to give up, as they all have sugar or honey or maple syrup. I was so thrilled to find your video and recipe and will try making these tomorrow. I am going to check out your other recipes as well. THANK YOU!!!!! 😊🙏
Also, can I lessen the amount of dates if I don't want it super sweet? Or will that mess up the texture?
Glad you found it! Hope you enjoy them. I’ve not tried them with less dates so not sure how it would change the texture.
@@dietitianmeetsmom thanks! I will try and let you know :)
I dont know what happened. You direction did not work for me. 😢
Oh sorry to hear that! Did it not gel? It’s still very nutritious if it doesn’t!! The chicken feet & instant pot really help it gel for me though.
It's Instant Pot, not Insta Pot
Yes true… and Instapot for short 😅
You can bake it in a 8inch or largest size pan and use a mug to cut out 3 even size cake layers. Don’t need to cook it 3 separate times. That’s what I did because I don’t have 3x4 inch pans 😊 Great recipe , thank you my baby loves it
What a great tip!!! Thank you so much for coming back to share that. Glad your baby loved it.
Hi! I tried making this and it’s really dense and I don’t think my baby would be able to get into it with his hands. I did use quick oats and blended as the oat flower. Do you use a specific type of oats?
I use old fashioned oats…wouldn’t think that would matter but not sure. It is naturally a denser cake due to the healthier ingredients (white flour & sugar will always produce a fluffier cake but obviously with a different nutritional profile as well.) However, it should not be so dense that a baby can’t break into it.
I’m so excited to make this for my son’s first birthday today!
Happy birthday to your little one!
Did you try the ergobaby embrace?
Yes, actually. After I made this video I bought & tried it with my third baby. I preferred to use a solly wrap but it was comfortable for me & my size. My husband loved it. I actually talk about it in this video. Best Baby Carriers for Newborns th-cam.com/video/CeKhEnpm5i8/w-d-xo.html
Thank you I’ve been praying for healthy food ideas for toddlers
Hope it was helpful!
God bless you ❤
Chicken chicken (Bawk bawk) Chicken feets (boy please whatever
Thank you for the recipe, i will be trying it for my baby but can I replace the oat flour with Almond flour ?
I’ve not tried it in this recipe. Let me know if you experiment!
If i put the batter all in one pan about twice the size, do i bake it for 30? Or still 15? Or in between? Like 20-25
I’ve never done it so I’m honestly not sure how it’ll turn out but you’ll definitely need to bake it longer.
I love saving bones and not wasting anything by being resourceful. I am going to start saving veggie scraps too. Gonna try this when I get home. Thanks.
Hello! I came across your video because I have some bones and veggies sitting in my freezer and didn’t know how to go about making broth. Quick question, what are some things you could do with the jelly? Thank you!
Hi thanks for watching! Do you mean the gel on the broth? I just heat it up and drink it as bone broth or use it any other way that I would use chicken broth like in soups, etc. I also often use broth instead of water to make pasta, rice, etc to add nutrients for my kiddos.
You haven't mentioned the proportion of every ingredient .
Full written recipe is in her description box.
Yes, you can find the link to the recipe in the description!
My kid loves them! (he is 2 years old)
I was going to give it to my son for his 2nd birthday is that not normal I find everyone making it only for 1 yo
I think most people use it for a one-year-old because they are typically the group looking for a "no-sugar" healthier cake recipe. The official recommendation is no sugar below 2, which is probably why it ends up this way, and then more parents are serving a more typical option of cake at 2 and later on. However, this is certainly still a healthy option at 2 and my kiddos enjoyed it past 1. Just depends on what you're looking for :)
@dietitianmeetsmom thanks for reply he is still In a very picky phase or selective I shall say and I am not ready to give him a full piece of regular cake at like 20 g sugar and 600 cal maybe next year! Lol I will make this one thank you. He has whip cream and fruit and some dark chocolate here and there but to overload right on the 2nd birthday seems a bit too much. I just think it should be normal for kids to have lower sugar options past 1 and still enjoy it. Plenty of years ahead for the real deal. This cake is the real deal for a two yo! Thanks
@@hals999 Yep! And if they aren't used to "real cake" they literally don't know what they are "missing" anyway ;) . My kids are more than happy to eat my healthier baked goods - even past 2.
Thank you for this
Awesome, thanks for the video!!!😀
Shes so cute love her
I tried using multi grain baby cereal since it pretty much the same thing as blended oats. Or Atleast I thought because I tried it twice and it came out as mush? Do you know if it should work? Because if it should maybe I did something else wrong lol
Get oat flour or almond flour
Haven’t tried it with that. Different grains definitely cook differently though. I would stick with oats & see how it comes out.
My eggs from Sams Club in TX match the orange color of the Vital Farms. I’ve heard that it varies. Sucks your are not good at such a great price. I typically but those or the Happy Egg. The Happy Egg heritage are the best as far as yolk and taste goes.
My cake didn’t come out fluffy at all; it was heavy and dense, why do you think that is? I followed all the ingredients and measurements. It’s dense and tight that I don’t think my son will be able to break pieces on his own from the round double later
Sorry it came out that way for you. I’m not sure what happened. It is not a super fluffy cake (due to the healthy ingredients as opposed to ingredients in a traditional cake….white flour, sugar, etc) but it shouldn’t be so hard and dense that a baby would have issues breaking it.
My baby has CMPA how can I replace the yogurt?
I’ve not made this particular recipe without the yogurt so I’m not sure. Let me know if you decide to experiment with it!
Super helpful! Thanks for this video!
Thank you so much! I will try it 🙏🏻🩵
Hope it helps!
I’m going to try this I’m a diabetic but I think I would like it thanks sweetie
I hope you like it. :)
What flavor, other than coconut, can you make?
I haven't tried any flavor other than coconut. I know some people make an icing alternative out of Greek yogurt for their baby's cake, which seems like a good idea and may be worth looking for a recipe if that's more your style! :)
I'm making this recipe for my son's first birthday😊😊
I hope it turns out well!! Thanks for letting me know!
They also have a brand called Archer for meat sticks. No added ingredients and grass fed 👍🏻
Yes!! I've been buying those too!
Thanks for the haul :) my eggs I’ve gotten from there are usually pretty orange. Guess it just depends 🤷🏻♂️
Yes, good point, it varies even within a brand.
I don’t buy olive oil in a plastic bottles.
I love that they have options in glass bottles (like the one I bought!)
4/9/24: I'm making some today and have everything I need to prepare it, so wish me luck. Thank you so much. It was an excellent presentation! 😊
Wonderful! I hope it goes well for you today!
Which are your top choices?
Solly wrap for newborns & happy baby & Sakura bloom scout for older babies. I also love Tula
Thank you for sharing with us how to make this! It's amazing how gelatinous the broth gets! I gotta try it soon.
Let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching!
Great production quality~ and really useful vid
Do you use salt for bone broth?
I typically add it in later - either in my recipe or sprinkle it to taste if I'm drinking a mug of it myself.
Welcome back! ❤
Thank you so much!!
🤙🏻
What's the temo of oven tho
375F ☺️ Feel free to check out the full recipe card here dietitianmeetsmom.com/healthy-smash-cake/#recipe
Starts at 1:19
How long and how many degrees to bake?
375 degrees for 15-20 minutes (or until toothpick comes out clean!) You can find the full recipe card here: dietitianmeetsmom.com/healthy-smash-cake/
Thank you for this!!!! My mom had a Sam’s membership & it’s the closest warehare to her. I’m trying to help her eat better so I’m so happy with these options & knowing it’s possible
I’m so glad you found it helpful!
Its so nice to know the recipe without eggs. I am not ready to give my baby eggs. So please to have this recipe. Just one concern is the temperature of baking the cake. Please mention. ❤
I was going to make this cake for my son tomorrow but now I’m curious, what is your concern with the temperature?
The cake should be baked at 375F. The link to the full recipe is posted below the video. Thanks for watching! :)
If they feed them red bellpepper powder they yolk gets a nice colour.😂
Ha yeah. Or even just paprika, I guess. Definitely not a fool proof method.
Yay can’t wait to make this ! Does the cake do well in the freezer or fridge for 3 days ? I have to make it early
I'm guessing you already made your little one's cake. I hope it turned out well! I think storing it in the fridge or freezer for a few days would be fine, as long as you set it out to come to room temperature before serving (just to help it be softer for your little one to dig into.)
Thanks so much for video. I was wondering where you got your espresso machine in picture😊Ty
We had to buy the white one from Williams & Sonoma. Amazon has the same model in different colors (but not in white) amzn.to/47fW3NH (affiliate)
We absolutely love it. We splurged right before our third baby came along lol 😅😴
you lost me when the packages were saying made in china
Definitely not what I usually buy either. Like I said …this was the best I could find at the dollar tree. Which was my single goal for the video.
At Costco they have sweet potato chips and there are only three ingredients, sweet potatoes, avocado oil and salt. They are really yummy, I haven’t seen them at Sams but maybe they will get them.
Definitely more options at Costco. Wish I had one near me, but glad Sam’s has got more healthier options the past few years at least!
Wow from watching your video i see i prejudged Sam Club. I see its worth it to have a membership there
