The red one is the LT1 Camaro? I am so confused by the rear of these cars they look identical this becomes worse with the 1997 Chevy Camaro z28 it has the same taillights as the 2001 z28 and SS the only way to tell the difference is the headlights obviously the LT1 will have the ls1 beat down low in the power band it does have a longer stroke vs the LS engines with their small stroke and a large bore

I’ve had my LT1 Firebird for 20 years and have put SO much money into that problematic LT1 engine! 6 optisparks and numerous fluid leaks. Runs great - when it’s running - and turns heads but WOW what an expensive hobby! Buy the LS1 F-bodies and save yourself a lot of grief.

It’s the gears, LS1 probably coming back up top, and in a 1/2 mile or roll race to 140mph+ probably take it, if he put some 3.91 or up, or even 3.73s would make the difference back from a dig.

People talking about LS1's even though they make a fair bit more power that said pit the 3v at the same power level and they are faster the 3v only makes 270 to 275 stock lol with a tune throttle body and intake and some suspension to make it a bit more fair the 3v is at the same power level about 307whp and is faster i only know cause I used to have both and I've raced both the 3v cause of weight can outrun a 392 not gap it but outrun it by about a bumper

I’d still take the mustang over that. That Camaro is barbaric…loud, rough, and the driver ergonomics is fucken terrible. The new 5.0 is just better overall and you can daily commute it like your driving a Honda Accord and then roast people on the street when you get too bored.

I own a s550 mustang and 96 firebird formula. Both are great cars in their own way. The Lt1s eat in the low RPM range vs the coyote making its power in the upper range. Just putting 3.73s, LTs, and 100shot with sticky tires on the LT1 and it will beat alot of modern cars. Lt1 f bodys Definitely hold their own.
