Watching you use that pump was painful. It has foot rests for a reason.
I just came across your video… awesome camp box and good and simple cooking 🧑🍳
Very helpful. Thank you!
Looking forward to following this.
Nice, how did your luggage get transported from one hotel to another?
Yes, we purchased a plan through Santiago Ways that setup the hotels and portage. It made the walks much easier.
So good to see your wife along. Could you introduce her? Thanks!
Nicely done . We also still tent camp . Just got back from Colorado. Used our ten by ten room as our dining room with second canopy as our kitchen. Plus our tent next to it . Was able to go from one to the other . Put a tarp over the canopies to help if it rained on us .
Can’t wait to get one ⛺️
Same here didn’t see link for radio.
I looked for the link to the mini AM/FM radio and couldn’t find it..
Omg am love with your beautiful kitchen setup and canopy in the top 🔝 of everything ❤
Up-Chuck Box! LOL.
Mesa with cooking crown is a titan
12406 is that altitude?
Yes
Nice build! Isn't the two burner stove meant to fit the top shelf of the box? I may have missed it, but how many people is the box meant to cater for?
The stove was supposed to sit on the top shelf, but the dimensions listed on their web page did not include the rubber feet. Also, I have prepared meals for 8 people using this setup.
Bro took a break from anchoring the 6’oclock news desk to showing us these stoves 😂😂😂 great review man
Pretty cool!
Nice video. You mentioned the vent would fall flat when opened, but there's a 2-3 inch strut with Velcro to hold it open. The strut is visible above your left shoulder, just hanging there, for most of the video. I think you hit it with the back of your hand when you stick your hand through the vent at 4:25.
You are correct. Spent a test night and discovered the strips. Still had condensation build up. Overall a good tent. Still need to see how it holds up in the rain.
Excellent vlog! The explanation and examples of the use and tips were very well covered. I was just outfitted with my CPAP system and was wondering what I would do going camping or during a power outage, and you provided me with choices so I can continue to live life with minimal difficulty!
Would love to see a follow-up comparison to your Zpacks.
Great video
Hellow how can i get one This IS mi WhatsApp thanks
Don't have a (liquid) gas option? 😋. I did like my Whisperlite, though I don't use it much anymore.
Good Video. I agree that the type of trip, the length, and conditions all influence a cook system. I am partial to an alcohol stove. The stove I use is a DIY using a Friskees can, a v-8 can and Carbon Felt. It is very efficient. For my fuel bottle I use a medium size Listerine bottle. The bottle uses a safety cap to prevent spills and is food grade so the alcohol has no issues with the plastic. Best of all it is a very light option and packs flat due to the bottle shape.
I too suffer from "cook kit" syndrome and "stoveitis"! I like them all and just wish I had more time to use them all! Great video! Enjoyed your commentary.
Ah, I can see you like stoves. Well I do also. I love my fancy feast stove. But have all the Trangia cook kits and stoves they make, Iso Butane, Alcohol ,and white gas. In White Gas I prefer Whisper lite. In my wood stoves the solo but bush buddy is a close second. But you put out a nice video. Nice Info. Thanks for your time
Good to see you back after the hip. You back on any trails yet?
Yes. Heading to NM in June.
@@discoveringincolor8572 Gila? Pecos?
Nice set up and very well thought out.
Ummm...Question: What happens on something like a chilly chili night? I don't think I'd be brave enough to put the end of my snorkel down into the sleeping bag with the rest of me. Do you just decide which issue you're least willing to have positively pressured into your face? Love your content, man!
Warm positive pressure is much nicer than cold air. There's plenty of air in your bag since you don't exhale in your bag.
Very good presentation
Hope you've healed well, brother. (And that you get into some yoga!)
Thanks for these three videos! This is exactly the overnight temps. I expect to be camping out in, in about 6 wks., so that temp. range you gave was very helpful. (I hope you survived the rest of the pandemic... haven't seen any recent responses from you.)
Thanks for de-mystifying this product! I just learned about it an hour ago when I saw one for for sale on Craigslist. (I've often, independently, had the idea of placing a tent within a tent for insulation purposes, but figured erecting the long fiberglass poles of the inner tent would be a problem. Looks like these guys solved that issue.) Hey, who video-bombed you, here, at 2:48?
Thanks for the comment. I've watched this video many times an never noticed my wife had video-bombed.
@@discoveringincolor8572 I'm torn. As a little kid, I was so hungry to be seen, I photo-bombed all my family photos (there were seven of us, and the instant gratification of seeing a part of me in every Polaroid shot was irresistible). But the video editor in me would be saying to my partner, if she waved in the corner of my video, _What the hell were you doing...?!!!_ I think I'm leaning on the side of the photo-bombers -- and it was Coco's stroll-through that won me over! 🦮
Good review thanks👍
Excellent and straightforward review. You answered any questions I had regarding the differences. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to seeing more of your content.
I’d you had to only pick one between the campfire and the XL, what would you pick and why? I’m looking to pick one for small fires out while camping. I have a cooking stove, however wouldn’t be against using the solo for a meal.
That depends on how you are camping. If you are a backpacker then use the Mesa. If you are car camping then use the XL. If you want to use either for some type of cooking you can get the heat deflector as a surface.
This guy makes me not wanna buy it.
You prefer the cot over air bed?!
🔥 About to Host my First Glamping Event, Happy I found Your Channel after all my research, I finally found You lol
This is the exact video I was looking for! Its so hard to tell the difference on the Solo Stove site because they all look the exact same size. Thank you.
Really nice set up! I have seen some blow up pool noodles online. I wonder if those or the jumbo pool noodles wood keep water out for the area where the canopies meet if it rains?
Handy tip, thanks 👍
It's disappointing when you invest a lot of effort into a trip and then have to cut it short early on. However, it does make the hikes that go smoothly all the more satisfying.
Sharing gear makes life much easier. I hope the hip heals fast.
Man your videos are great. I’m glad I found your channel.
I’ve been looking for a nice multi day hiking trail and this one looks great. Did you ever do the full trail? How was it?
I was wondering about this specifically. THANK YOU
What a great review. It almost looks like the newer Mesas do not come with the pellet adapter insert but rather are built similarly to the Mesa XLs which have the pellet adapter integrated with the stove.
Good to hear from you, it’s been a while.
Great video. Got the Mesa XL and want an option to cook, so all I have to order is the replacement ring for the Campfire stove.
