Merry Christmas, Christopher!
That hat is so powerful. I just want to comment on it, if that's okay. In the United States, Black music is consistently among the most popular music in the entire country. It reminds me of Black athletes, where we absolutely love the culture of Black America, but somehow fail to embrace actual Black people. As a nation, we keep Black people locked in inner cities. We give practically no funding to Black schools. We refuse home loans, bank loans, college admissions, etc, to Black people. But then we go home and listen to Rihanna, Jay, Kendrick, Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, Patrick Mahomes, etc. We love Black culture, but we treat Black PEOPLE like they're second-class citizens. I just want you to know that some of us white folks see what's going on. We're not blind. We be buying Black music, and we stay marching, protesting, etc. Power to the people. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻✊️
Wait a minute... Practice means focusing on something I can't already do?! I thought drumming was all about rocking out and doing whatever I feel like doing!!! Such a bummer!!! 🤣🤣🤣
😂
@@cbfieldsmusic Just kidding, of course. Excellent lesson. Slick lick as well. Subscribed!
Thank you I appreciate it! I appreciate you subscribing! 💪💪💪
If you are Left handed should you start with your Left.
@@albertbrooks8847 not necessarily! I start with my left hand because it’s a weak point for me and that’s how I work through. I’d say start with the lead hand that’s most comfortable so you get some accomplishment out of the exercise.
Which app do you use?
Thank you for watching! For the metronome I use pro metronome from the Apple App Store.
Great lesson. One of the things that held me back was taking things slow and working my way up. I never realised how important a metronome was either until I used one.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re seeing the benefits of a steady rhythm and working your way up.
The snares sounds amazing。
Another great lesson that leaves one feeling inspired. You build a good step by step method that is your own, to give students a real path to master drumming.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏾 I'm glad you feel inspired.
@@cbfieldsmusic Love it man. You need a publisher to get you a book deal.
hey brotha chris , def. wanna talk more, love talking drums/n gear n music n bnds n stuff , please message me or email me , thanks n talk soon > tom !
Thanks, I appreciate that! Hit me up on my other socials. I’m on IG & FB. cbfieldsmusic on both!.
But how is the hardware!?!
The hardware is solid. Rack toms have their own memory lock/mount system ( makes set up and break down a breeze. Floor tom legs have the same memory/lock mount system. They released a velocity series of cymbals stands but I don’t have those. I still use my Yamaha cymbals stands
@cbfieldsmusic Good deal ! They do sound nice…credit to the tuning also👍
What’s it called
Velocity series by SPL. I think it’s exclusively at guitar center.
I DO want my drum fills to sound super-cool and powerful!
Let’s goooo! Thanks for checking out the lesson. How long have you been a drummer?
I was noodling with an electronic kit for a bit, but started in earnest about a year and a half ago when I finally got a place with some extra space and my friend gave me a few pieces of gear. So I’m new to drums, but I’ve been playing different instruments all my life. I love this lick, I learned it already! This is the sort of thing I imagine in my mind’s ear but didn’t understand how to play, thank you for helping me! Subbed, looking forward to learning more from you, I really like the way you break things down.
40. Is. Very. Comfortable
No way he has the Aaron Paulsen drum kit
I personally think you can’t do wrong with a Pearl forum, played one for years and it sounded great
Yeah pearl forum is legit. It’s the kit I grew up playing in church with! 💪💪💪
Thank you!👌
🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Yeah, I tried these patterns and failed at about 100. Thanks for showing me how to slow it down. Still hard, but Do-able😮
Thanks Chris! I'm setting this one on LOOP😊
Awesome! I hope this helps you build a strong foundation
That was great, challenging and fun. Looking forward to the next lesson
Thank you! I’m glad this is helpful for you
Thanks! What metronome app are you using?
Like to know as well
I use pro metronome from the Apple App Store
I use pro metronome from the Apple App Store
which set?
This is the Velocity series by sound percussion labs. It’s an all birch shell set comparable to the Yamaha stage custom series but I wish they had more color options.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you put Pinstripes on it, but no. That’s actually crazy bro
It really is a decent set. I wish they had more color options.
Thanks😊😊 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

rectum. LOL
What is your DM link? Would like to ask about your mixer or sound module there, and how you mixed it for the video...If you would like to talk about it. Not sure about all the hashtags.
What’s up? You can reach me on Instagram @cbfieldsmusic.
That snare sounds especially sexay!
Simple a powerful as you have demonstrated, thank you.
Thank you! 🙏🏾 I’m happy you found this valuable!
Uhhhh … slight error on the auto-caption, my friend. “… is played on the first rectum and the snare.” 😮😂 ouch! That’s gonna hurt! This might be my first comment here, but I do want to say your simple, clear lessons are a blessing for new drummers. Well done! Keep up the great work.
yikes! rectum and the snare. that is gonna hurt lol. Thanks for the heads up about that. Thanks for watching the lessons too.

Stock drum heads and no dampeners and these sound great even through phone speakers. Must say, great job done on your part with the tuning
Appreciate that, the tuning really makes a difference! 🙏🏾
Broooo!!! Thank you for breaking this down. th-cam.com/video/aRBoRwKND0A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jD6Pd2m28vS7sT2R Min 4:10 Carlin Muccular didn’t really slow this exercise down the way you do and I’ve been trying to figure it out for years!! You
I’m glad this was helpful for you! I look up to Carlin and that exercise is 🔥and does wonders for getting the foot on point!
If anyone listens to trap music there’s a song by lil yachty and babyface Ray this sounds like it
Thanks for your videos, they're helping me a lot in my drumming progress
I appreciate that! Glad I can help. What type of music do you play?
I listen to all kinds of music. From pop to metal!
👏🏾 👏🏾
Thank you 🙏🏾
Very good idea 👍😁😎🥁
Glad you liked it!
Name of it sos ?😂
Great exercise! Thanks mate!
My pleasure!
Great Sir😊
I’m glad this helped you!
Practicing slowly is the key. Sometimes slower tempos are harder to play than the faster tempos.
That’s accurate! Slow is smooth and smooth is fast
😊thank you
Thank you 🙏🏾
You should start the video by playing it first at speed so they know whether or not to sit through the entire video watching a slow breakdown of something they don't even know what it sounds like in context and wouldn't know what they're watching being played slow but other than that great channel and I subscribed
Preciate the feedback!
Thanks bro, I'll be throwing this into my practice routines
I’m glad this is useful for you! 💪💪💪
Excellent. Thank you!
I’m glad this helpful for you!
newbie drummer here. why do you begin you paradiddle on the left hand? does it matter?
I use my left hand to start so I don’t get stuck only starting with my right. It helps with keep me out of my comfort zone and naturally sets a foundation for creativity
Man 🫡
I appreciate you! I’m glad this was helpful
