I disagree that this is a right on red rule. A right on red rule basically allows drivers to make a right turn through a RED light on an intersection that is controlled by traffic light(after checking that the intersection is clear). The traffic light that is shown in this video is NOT governing the flow of traffic on the intersection. The purpose of this traffic light is to protect the pedestrian crossing that is after the intersection. So, the pedestrian crossing is a controlled pedestrian crossing, and the traffic light becomes RED only when a pedestrian presses the pedestrian button. The STOP line is placed before the intersection so that vehicles will not block the intersection when stopping for a RED light.

The idea behind the sign is to avoid clogging the intersection on red. Since the traffic light does not apply to turning vehicles - it does not regulate the crossing - turning is ok. But: Swedish examiners love to make drivers' licenses expensive and hard. Maybe this is the only fun they have in their lives....

No, since the traffic light is in fact not covering the intersection. It is a light controlled pedestrian crossing beyond the intersection. This is a fairly common construct. What makes this unusual is that the stop line is before the crossing, whereas the common configuration is to have the line just before the pedestrian crossing, after the exit of the intersection. Still, the situation is quite clear. The sign signifies that the stop line only applies if the signal lights apply to the vehicle, i e if the vehicle will pass the signal just before the pedestrian crossing and the signal indicates stopping. If the signal applied to the intersection itself there would normally be a stop or yield sign indicating the behavior in case of signal failure. In addition at least one signal would normally be placed before the intersection

Yes, you are allowed to look the reverse camera. But you should not stare at the camera and miss viewing the surrounding. When driving in reverse, you always have the least priority. So if there is any movement around the car (be it humans or other vehicle), you need to stop and let them pass. In order to do this, you need to be aware of your surroundings all the time by looking at your mirrors and blind spots. One tip, therefore, is to practise reversing both with and without it. In your test, you must be able to show that you are aware of your surroundings and that you are in control of the situation.

Hello They usually use Volvo Cars for the practical exam. I passed the exam on the second attempt, and it was volvo V60 on both occasions (I went for a manual transmission). They also use Volvo V40, XC40, and XC60. For automatic transmission, it will likely be XC60.

You do safety checks based on what the examiner asks you. If the examiner asks you to check the tires, then you have to move out and check the tires. Sometimes the examiner might not want you to do any security check. To give you an example during my exam, I passed the practical exam on the second attempt. On my first attempt the examiner asked me to check if the break is working and i did check that. On my second attempt, the day was rainy day and I started the wiper with out the examiner asking me to do it and I asked her if she want me to do any security check, then she said that I already started the wiper and I don’t need to do any more security check. You are right, when using the second exit, you don’t need to indicate when entering to the roundabout. That is what I was doing in my videos and the on the roundabout video, I have mentioned this fact specifically. But did you pass your exam or you failed due to this fact?

Yes, I know that UK DL tests are tough. If you pass the UK test, you must be aware of the safety aspects of driving, and the Swedish DL exam is not any different. If we have to mention one thing different in the Swedish DL exam, it is the reverse around the corner maneuver. I think this is not tested in the UK. Anyways, good luck on your attempt!

Some examiners rarely choose a route towards östra sjukhuset...But they usually choose this route if the exam is on a weekend (so on the weekend the road is free from traffic and they can choose long routes)....I will post a video on the östra sjukhuset route.

What do you mean by effective breaking?…did you have a test recently and does the examiner mention luck of effective breaking?…if so, if you can tell me more what happened during the exam, I can try to help you more…

Hello, I passed the practical exam on the second attempt. On my first attempt, the examiner asked me to check if the breaks are working…What I did is I turned off the engine and pressed the break a few times and the break pedal should be hard after few presses…if the pedal is springy or sinks down to the floor, then there is some issue with the break… To test ‘break servo’, I pressed the break while the engine is off and while my feet is on the break, I started the engine and the break pedal sinks while the engine starts - this is an indication that the ‘break servo’ is working. If the break stays hard even after switching the engine on, then there can be an issue with the break servo. While doing all the above steps, I speak out what I observed to the examiner (like the break is not springy and doesn’t sink down so there is no issue on the break, and wile testing the break servo also I explain my observation). On my second attempt, it was a rainy day and I started the wiper without the examiner requesting me anything…then I asked her if she want me to do security control and she said you have already started the wiper, and you don’t need to do any more security check.
