Quick question, on the acknowledgment form under the optional section can you explain the Title or type of document in detail? You wrote Name affidavit, does that mean since it was an acknowledgement we would write acknowledgment?
are you referring to the optional section on the certificate? if so, you would put the title of the document you are notarizing so that the certificate can not be attached to any other document you aren't aware of. if you were notarizing a power of attorney that was titled "power of attorney", that would be what you write in the title section. i hope that answered your question ☺️

On a good note, you are showing items needed that I have yet to hear anyone else talk about. On a bad note it’s now getting overwhelming to start this as a business ….haha (especially dreading having to buy a laser printer, I didn’t even even want to do it for one of my Etsy shops! And I know if I got a laser printer and did more printing for my Etsy shop I would have more orders, but I wanted to go more of the digital route where I wouldn’t have to do much of upkeep and doing orders in the first place So now I’m sitting here looking at the cost of a laser printer and then I might as well get a color if I’m gonna invest a few hundred dollars already…. And the laser printer is the most expensive part. I’m still on my way to the route of becoming a Loan signing agent, but I’m still applying for jobs in mortgage and title hoping to get a full-time job. And in case anyone didn’t know, it’s actually a nice little perk to already be a notary If you wanna work for let’s say a real estate attorney, a title company, or a mortgage company - especially if you’re going to be working in the office! So if you are a notary or even finding agent, don’t forget to put that stuff on your résumé and your LinkedIn profile because it’s a perk. Add it as a certification underneath your education on your résumé or your LinkedIn profile.

Hi Courtney I have a really nice Brothers Monochrome dual tray set up. This refi on Wed has 150 to 200 pages something like that. My question is when I print out the full package should I remove paper about half way through so nothing jams or is it cool to let her print out all the docs ? In other words can it handle all prints at one time. By the way, NG said I could take them to FEDX in the morning. That can only be God's Grace this first time of ever doing a signing.
I really like your system with the paper clips. Clipping all the paperwork that isn't seen and leaving loose. All that needs to be signed. Initial or dated my question is how do you pass through those clipped? So the borrower knows they're not missing anything
for your first question it really depends on what your printer can handle. my printer can handle me leaving the pages there. for your second question i just let the signer know they can read if they would like but its more documents for the company not them because it usually is. and they will have their copy if they still want to look at it!
@itscourtneythenotary well I did it was a refinance but had a heloc in it. There were 12 notarial acts with 155 pages. Honestly, with all the prep time and the time in the appointment I'm not sure if it's even worth the time especially with a middle man signing service. If anything, I feel like I succeeded by not quitting and not trying. I did it the lady even told me it seems you've been doing this for a long time I wish I could have seen the look on my face . Anyway, Courtney I really admire your person , character whatever you call that. Courtney I wonder if I'm the only one who feels this way? Alright good night thank you for responding❤️🙂
Courtney the job from NG requires me to drop them off at Fed X same day. My appointment is at 6pm lets say I drop them off at a FedEx drop off at Wallgreens at 8:30 pm do they expect them to be shipped overnight? I stopped by the FedEx X drop off site at wallgreens and they told me picks up are the next day at 7am or 9am. I would think i'm responsible for dropping them off, and getting the track number. The guy from notary go told me if I drop them off after the appointment. I don't need to do scan backs. How does that work? I would sure appreciate your feedback. Especially since you're California like me. Thank you, Courtney.
i wouldn’t take them to walgreens.. always go to an actual fedex location. usually when you have late appointments its ok to drop them off the next day so you would do scanbacks. because there aren’t any pickups that late. i would let NG know you’ll scanback and deliver first thing in the AM. i believe you should be fine but double check!

yay! im happy for you! number one piece of advice i can give you is take your time! the borrower follows your lead…also, as your working through the package read when they read and sign to familiarize yourself with the documents! before you head out make sure you take note of all the signature lines and the instructions provided.. you got this! and im glad notary go worked out!

Hi thanks for the tips I’m Just curious how many companies did you sign up with I know you said not 100 so about how many? I’m new to this industry and just filled out 150 applications so far and the only one I get offers from randomly and have yet to get one is signature closures. It’s been 2 weeks now and nothing yet from all the others!! Does it take time to start this I’m getting discouraged.
thank you for watching! i only applied to maybe max 20. but i only worked with around 5 signing services - it was to the ones that i mentioned in a separate video. it can take time but I highly suggest calling if you can.

In ups store they only attached SWORN BEFORE ME statement, no notary acknowledgment certificate. So it is legal ?
it depends on the certificate and the state.
Both the acknowledgment and Jurat have to be attached to the related documents. Isn't it? Thanks
you should attach the certificate to the document it belongs to. you don’t want to give anyone the opportunity to attach that certificate to anything else.

Thank you, Courtney. Can you recommend any additional resources? Unfortunately, from all my research, no video explains how to certify a notarial Journal per the Secretary of State’s request. A California-commissioned, National Notary Association trained notary, I have consulted the handbook, the notary primer, 44th edition, and Google. Any information you have would be appreciated.

Courtney on all the pages you group using a paperclip that the borrower doesn't need to sign . As your going through the loan package with them how and what do you tell the borrower so that you can move on to the loose signing docs?
most of the time the documents they aren't signing are documents meant for the loan company..i haven't had anyone question that but since they have their own copy they can always read through it first or during. you can always give them that disclaimer.
Hi Courtney, thought to check in with you. I have my NSA now and am deciding whether to get a brothers or HP dual tray laser printer. I have an HP laptop that I will hook up with wi fi and if need be will use a USB every now and then as you do. However, you said your mac did not have the capability to distinguish letter and legal size docs when printing out the docs. My question would be since i have an HP laptop computer would I need to download that adobe Acrobat reader that you did with your mac which enables it to differentiate between the two. One last question , is the Hp Printer you use as shown in the video able to hook up wireless with my wi fi and laptop? I'm curious why you used a usb to connect to your mac. hello! you should be fine if both devices are HP. also, the printer i use in the video is usb connection only but the printer has a WiFi version..i believe it is linked in the description of this video. if not, then the Wi-Fi version is linked in the other videos.
This is the laser printer I really like . I know I'll have to download the model software since I don't have a slot for a disk to download that way. With this printer once I link it up on WI fi to my laptop I'll be able to make the proper adjustments so that it can separate legal and standard / lettersize paper. Question though, do I still need to download the Adobe acrobat reader? Last, my Hp laptop came set up with windows 11 so I want to make sure the printer or anything I might not be aware of is compatible with it. I sure an grateful Courtney. Hope all is well, and I hope some way someday I can meet you you'd be awesome to meet. I really mean that. 😀

How do you know what to print for the borrower's copy?

I tried ordering a second stamp and I was told that the state of Arizona only allows one stamp. What? WHY?

Im in California too. This is my favorite journal as well. Ive tried all compliant journals but came back to this. And i will never switch to the eJournal either. Is this still yr favorite journal?
this is my favorite as well! i have not seen another one on the market that has caught my eye.
For a jurat, the California notary left out the typed words "who appeared" as in .... on the basis of satisfactory evidence to be the persons(s)"who appeared" before me. All other wordings are correct. The affidavit of death and its jurat has been electronically submitted by the notary and recorded with an assigned document number. Will this be okay?

Hi. I'm the signer. I'm one of four remaindermen (with my 3 other siblings) of a life estate in California. The document with the jurat in question is actually a Correction Affidavit of Death of Life Tenant (CADLT). It was used to correct the original Affidavit of Death of Life Tenant (ADLT), which has a wrong legal description. The CADLT is correct in all respects except for the jurat in my original question. Again, I'm a remainderman and I am the signer of the CADLT that was recorded on 12-15-23 with a document number assigned. The property of the life estate is located in the SF Bay Area, Calif. Thank you.
notary.cdn.sos.ca.gov/forms/notary-jurat.pdf this is how a California jurat looks according to the SOS website. I can only speak to the jurat but not the contents of your documents. you can always provide your own jurat form if you are unsure of the one provided by a notary. i hope this helps... and i apologize that i couldn't help further. you can always ask the party you submitted the forms to if the jurat that was notarized will suffice. (a lawyer)
The party who typed the flawed jurat was the same notary who signed and stamped the flawed jurat for the CADLT, which he also prepared as a Legal Document Assistant - LDA (he's both a notary and a LDA). I'll likely consult an attorney to record a corrective CADLT (which is flawless in itself) just to correct the flawed jurat typed & signed by the notary/LDA. Thank you very much for your time and effort to try and help me on this matter. I very much appreciate it.
