My husband is retired and I'll soon be. Our house in Tempe is paid off and we're tired of this ridiculous heat in AZ. I don't see it getting better and we're looking for a nice little retirment community where we can just buy something cash and settle down. Your video did the town more justice than the town's visitor/tourist site. You should do these for the Dept of Tourism. BTW, between Longview and Kelso is where we're looking, it's a toss of the coin.

What he isn't telling you, but you can see because the malls empty, the economy dumped after the forest fires because it's a logging town. Now the cops are corrupt and work in politics and are stealing and selling properties.

So, I try really hard to make sure that I'm giving an honest and real look at any town that I do videos on. Will I be able to cover every specific detail about a city? No, but I'm pretty good about doing my homework and I try to touch on the major concerns that people should be aware of, as well as showing the positive aspects of any city. And when people leave comments like yours that suggest I'm leaving something out, I take that seriously. Especially when it comes to important topics like the economy. And sometimes comments like that send me back to the video to double check my work, 'cause let's be honest, after filming as many videos as I have, I don't remember 100% of what was said. Now, maybe you didn't watch the full video, maybe you glossed over things and skipped around...I don't know. What I do know, is that the two topics you claim I'm not telling people about; the economy and the empty mall, are specifically mentioned at the following timestamps: 2:41-Mention declining economy while driving past old rundown buildings in downtown Kelso. 2:54-Mention 3 Rivers Mall, calling it "a ghost town" while driving through a near empty parking lot, outside of Sportsman's Warehouse and the movie theatre. Now, did I do a deep dive into all of the socioeconomic woes that the city has faced over the years? No, that's not the kind of content I do. And if you're going to call me out for something that wasn't included in one of my videos that you think should have been included; I'm always open to constructive criticism...just make sure it's ACTUALLY something I didn't cover in the video. As far as your claims about police corruption, etc. you provided no specific claims or evidence to support it, so I'm not even going to touch that topic. What I will say is that anyone who's looking at relocating to a new city should do their due diligence, don't rely on a single source of information, and do everything they feel is necessary to make a well thought out and informed decision.

So I live and grew up in Vancouver. For the longest time I've always thought of Longview as a whatever town that I would just pass through to get to the beach. Well, around the time the pandemic hit I started working for Amazon delivering packages, and I delivered to the Longview/Kelso area for a year and a half. Man, did I fall in love with the place. Longview has a certain charm that's hard to describe, but it's kind of like stepping back in time about 30 to 40 years. I was noticing a lot of old houses that haven't seen renovations, old cars parked on the roads, old street lights and other utilities and features, and the local radio station 98.3 The Peak was playing a lot of 80's music at the time. So that's pretty much the vibe I incorporate with Longview and one of the reasons I like to visit up there. The field off 7th Ave across from the fairgrounds is a great place to park and chill, you generally get a good view of the sunsets there. If I had to choose a specific neighborhood to move to it would be somewhere between Nichols and 32nd Ave probably along Garfield, Florida, Field or Fir Streets. However I do have a great job with C-Tran and I am not about to make that great commute everyday. But that's ok Longview will always be a great town to visit.

Kelso is considered a sun down town. If you are not white. Stay the hell out of Kelso. Recently a black man who was on a work assignment was murdered. A lot of murderous Bigots in Kelso. I recently went to look at a rental property in Longview, but after hearing about the man who was murdered only because of his skin color. We decided to pass. You have to go through Kelso to get to Longview.. I definitely would not recommend this town.

Instead of In-N-Out Burger I would rather see the first Culver's in the PNW which is from Wisconsin with concrete mixers, similar to DQ Blizzards, but they also have Wisconsin cheese curds as well and there burgers are awesome. I would also love to see either a Texas Roadhouse in the area or a Longhorn Steakhouse knowing the closest one to us is in Boise Idaho, either way we need a good high quality steakhouse in the area and maybe a WingStop as well.

I love roundabouts! Why do people not like them? They eliminate stopping at red lights, you can drive right through intersections smoothly....if people navigate them correctly. My gripe with them is people who STOP when entering when there's no car entering where they are. They'll actually stop and wait for a car that enters the roundabout after they do. Most people do well through them, and if folks would learn how to navigate them they'd be even more wonderful.

With a crime rate of 48 per one thousand residents, Longview has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. Lets talk about the air. I moved there 6 years ago. Healthy as a horse. Not so healthy now. I was diagnosed with COPD 3 years after moving here. Yes i smoked, i had been smoke free 10+ years PRIOR to moving here. Those mills pump some smelly stuff about once a week. It came on slowly. Ive since moved back to N. Cal. I can breath again, i can climb staires again. DONT MOVE TO LV OR KELSO. Im telling u what ever they are pumping into the air there is harmful to humans.
