i installed one on my 2021 did it with a warm engine. checked for leaks found none. next day engine was cold sitting in basement . started engine dumped all my oil from a loose oil filter. i now mark the filter on top count 10 turns and know it is tight enough . also made a tool for grabbing schrader cap used a piece of 3/8 fuel line rubber on a small wood dowel and secured now i can place over cap and unscrew without loosing cap

16 KL install no problem, first oil change, there is now oil leaking out the air valve with a consistent stream when the engine is on?

Regarding the oil level... If approx 1 qt is being held in the upper engine, it wouldn't hurt to add a qt to the crankcase to have the lipstick read "full"? I mean, the 3.6 is expecting to operate at the full level. No?

My Jeep sits a lot . At the 5 day mark it still rattles a little , guess thats better then beating it's self to death..

Would this work in conjunction with an oil cooler adapter? If i had to choose one or the other, i think id have to go oil cool adapter.

Has anybody used this for any extended period of time? Does it work? Is it actually safe and beneficial?

Do you need to add more oil to compensate? Also instead of using the FL500, can I use the FL820 but then also add more oil?

On my second Unit, I saw the Car Care Nut and he bashed the conversion kit makers, He didn't name names but implied they have problems, So I'm here watching Kevin, Baxter knows what their doing, doing my second oil change, 23 4RunnerTRD off road

Can’t you just blow the oil out of the filter, then check the oil level as opposed to guessing?

I have this product and my truck is not used every day. This absolutely makes a night and day difference. The truck is used weekly so it sits for 5 days not running. No more dry starts and you can hear the difference. Great product

For people saying they don’t see the point? The point is, the Baxter unit holds oil up in the canister where the factory filter would be. And also in the new spin on filter. In doing this, the engine gets oil instantly. I have one on my 2016 Jeep Wrangler, and I can tell you it works. My jeep can sit for days, and at start up No valve train noise. Even if I did the pre oil pump up by holding the gas pedal down and turning the key for about 4-5 seconds. I’d still get rattle sometimes. I’m totally glad I spent the money for one of these Baxter units. I believe it’s money well spent and worth every penny. Plus I get to use a spin on filter of way better quality of about any canister type filter.

Id like to see a oil pressure test with and without this product

Bought the spin on adapter for my 2022 Toyota Tacoma and never regretted it. Oil changes are so much easier and less messy with the spin-on concept and ironically, the fourth gen Tacoma’s went back to spin-on filters instead of the messy cartridge filters…….go figure!😳

I agree with using this adapter for better longevity of an engine. I bought and installed this along with the Dorman updated aluminum oil filter housing for the Chrysler Pentastar engine. My vehicle is a ‘12 Chrysler 200 Touring convertible and as of this writing it has 75,500 miles.

I no longer have the momentary groan at startup and the only thing to watch out for is some residual oil may still be present to catch with a shop cloth so it doesn’t drain way down into the V6’s valley. As a car enthusiast I don’t mind the extra step or two at an oil change because I believe it helps with longevity of the Pentastar engine.

Man i was all over this until I saw the guess your own oil level on the stick tip. Better sell a replacement dipstick that measures right.

YES IT WORKS... My gladiator got all new cams, rockers and lifters at 55k miles... When my car came back from the dealer it still had that grinding noise when I would start it... After installing this I haven't heard it since.... I think it could definitely be cheaper but it works.

What oil filter is recommended?

Most engines, regardless of oil filter location have some starvation at startup. My 1948 8n Ford tractor is a prime example, about 3-5 seconds before oil pressure builds after startup, still running strong after all these years. Best thing you can do with the 3.6 Jeep engine? Switch to 5w-30..

with all the bells and whistles vehicles have these days, i'm still surprised a small electric oil prime pump isn't standard...

Can someone explain how this isn’t a gimmick? It would hardly hold any oil in reserve, 200ml at most? How is that effectively saturating two heads? It reduces the tic time in half but not completely. I don't know if it was worth it or not. It's a nice looking piece though.

Well something has to work I just replaced my lifters and rockers with only 100,000 miles 15 wrangler. And after a month cranking up after a week of sitting it sounds like the lifters ting for to long. So disappointing to drive something consumer reports say is the worst car brand in the world 2024

I’m guessing this helps. I like that I could use a real filter if nothing else, but there’s something about this whole process that feels sketchy… the priming, and shader valve doodad, the oil dipstick will be off… eh…

What number oil filter do I need or do I have to buy baxter filters?

Doesn’t the 3.6 holds oil in the filter housing until you release the cap, then the oil drains back to the pan? My understanding is that you should remove the cap before draining the pan during an oil change otherwise you'll be using some old oil that is retained in the filter housing. Is this device even needed - seems to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

I've installed the Baxter adapter and still have the dry noisy starts... considering that they only hold what is in the filter, and the rest still drains back, it makes it seem like a gimmick.
