What are Significant Figures and how do you figure them out?
Scientists use significant figures to represent the accuracy of quantitative measurements. In this video, Justine Siew and Glorianna Tarlton explain what Significant Figures are, how to determine which numbers are significant in a measurement, and how to determine significant figures after mathematical operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They also describe how scientists used significant figures to study the evolutionary impacts of a hurricane on lizard populations!

Respectfully, if you are a Christian you must believe what the Bible says. And the Bible says that God created Adam and Eve to reproduce and basically increase the Earth's population. The Bible does not mention the evolution of monkeys, but just Adam and Eve, therefore the evolution is false.

So they put in as an objective function: complexity, as in more boolean functions means more cpu time. Well of course more complexity arises if that is the objective function, this simulation doesn't explain why complexity emerges through natural selection. I've been trying to understand how something as complex as the human body (with millions of unique molecules which each have their own unique function) can evolve from a single celled organism through: variation, inheritance, selection and time. How is it that we have evolved from a single-celled organism to our current state? I don't mean this question in a direct sense but as an invitation to philosophize with me. I understand how evolution works and that millions of years is a vast amount of time, and that even small fluctuations over such a long period can lead to significant change. HOWEVER, the concrete "something" that causes this is still an open question. I want to be able to create life without cloning it. In other words, how do you create life? Life in the sense that there is something in that single-celled organism from back then that has the potential to become all current life on Earth. What is that potential? How do you create something like that? Can you help me?

In the graph at 4:50, did you perhaps accidentally swap mobile with immobile proteins? It would seem to me that if the ROI recovers its fluorescence close to 100% before photobleaching, it would be due to diffusion of proteins

There is ZERO evidence of ANY kind for any gods or a supernatural realm. The time to believe something, or accepting it as true, is when there is data that supports the claim. Otherwise, you’re just believing whatever you want to be true based on faith. With faith, any story you invent can be believed. That doesn’t mean it exists in reality. Science cannot disprove the idea of another “realm” or state of existence, but if it finds data supporting it, that data is, by definition, natural and renders whatever secondary existence just as natural as our world. Logic, AND science, can easily disprove that any of the proposed gods do not exist. Any contradiction in the scripture describing that god, such as the Christian god being all good AND creating evil, automatically nullifies the proposition no matter how much theological apologizing you try to do. The god in that scripture is a myth.🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm testing a microscope for the first time in my life. On the lower 10x and 20x settings I can see the preparation, but at 40x nothing helps. All I see is light and no adjustments help. I haven't tested 100x with oil yet. However, I'm more interested in 40x. Everything white on two different preparations could be a faulty microscope? When I take out the glasses at the top, I can see the samples in the distance, but when I put the glasses on, there is only light. There is also light at the 10x and 20x settings, but it can be adjusted by zooming out. However, in the case of 40x, nothing helps. Please give me some advice - SW380T microscope.
