Why the OKC Thunder Should Trade For Cam Johnson At The NBA Trade Deadline
We are just under a week away from the NBA trade deadline and the rumors and fake trades are starting to really heat up. The Oklahoma City Thunder are still at the top of the West, but I think they should look to make a move to get Cam Johnson to OKC.
In This spotlight, I broke down why the Thunder should trade for Cameron Johnson, how he would fit on this team, what OKC would have to give up, why the Nets would accept the trade, why NBA title windows are shorter than you think, the Thunder's time is now. revisiting the Gordon Hayward trade from last year's trade deadline and more!

Cason Wallace is UP NEXT for the OKC Thunder
มุมมอง 4.7K12 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
Cason Wallace is a SPECIAL DEFENDER for the Oklahoma City Thunder. During last year's playoffs, nobody held offensive players to a lower shooting percentage while contesting at least 50 shot attempts than Cason did. I did a deep dive into what makes Cason Wallace one of the more exciting, underrated and dynamic two-way guards in the entire NBA, what he has improved on in his sophomore season, w...

Have the Oklahoma City Thunder found another second-round pick diamond in the rough in Ajay Mitchell? Before his recent turf toe injury and later procedure, Ajay was a staple of the Thunder’s rotation this season as they reigned supreme at the top of the Western Conference. I did a deep dive into Ajay’s early life, his unique journey to the NBA from Belgium, his unique skillset, how he gained t...
Lu Dort Is A BIG GAME PLAYER For The OKC Thunder

Lu Dort throughout his career has proven time and time again that he has no fear of big games, big plays, or big moments. I did a deep dive into many of the biggest games and biggest plays of Dort's career and why many Thunder fans now commonly refer to him as "Big Game Lu". Starting with Lu's big breakout against the Rockets when he joined rare air in Game 7, his first ever game-winning shot, ...

Love the ppg reference
Shame he got hurt, it's been very clear that with Mitchell out, they only have 2 guys who can dribble which simply does not work
Ajay is a gamer. You can see it in SGA's eyes when he talks about him making the game easier for Shai. Believe me, easy is good.
The aura of shai, the athleticism of dub, the passing of giddey, the defense of caruso, the dominance of lu, the ability to block like chet. I can go on and on about cason🙏
Little FYI, Giddey ain't with us anymore
The one time we won we had a center
And the mavs was completely healthy that game
@@Straightfacts321 no pj
No chet
2 gamed losing streak and mavs are the 11th seed
@@Straightfacts321 as or right now we own you and that's all that matters
When we drafted Derrick Lively, then traded him straight to Dallas for Cason, I thought it was a mistake but Cason's defensive moves have won me over.
Absolutely
Great video man! Cason literally has glue on his hands if he touches that ball it’s his!
You nailed it when you called him a Dawg on defense!!
🏀 🐶 🌩️⚡️
Great content! Thank you. Love Cason!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it 🤝
Mitchell has solidified himself as a regular part of the rotation on what is a championship caliber team as a rookie and that's no small feat. He is VERY impressive and already is a poor man's Jalen Brunson. He's that good. I truly hope he's able to play once the playoffs start because he gives them really solid minutes and is the only true point guard the team has.
Wiggins is clearly OKC"s 5th best and most valuable player and I've been perplexed as to why he's not getting the minutes he should. He averages 10 points per game which is 2 points more than Wallace in 7 less minutes per game and shoots higher percentage across the board from regular shots, three pointers to free throws and also has more size. Go watch the game he had against NY this year where he had like 17 in the 4th qtr. and completely took over. Wiggins without question is better than Wallace and needs more run.
Wiggins is a vital piece for us for sure he has been absolutely amazing we have a lot of good players and there isn’t enough minutes for everybody you are going to be extra mad when everybody is back, it’s all about winning that’s all that matters and we should all trust in mark
@@DeadShotMontages He's doing a great job for sure I just don't get what's going on with Wiggins. There has to be something we don't know about behind the scenes. He without question is their 5th best player and gets less minutes than Wallace.
@@joel-s4w8x ya that’s fair if he’s as good as we know he is he will keep proving himself and get more minutes thunder up baby
@@DeadShotMontages I think he pretty well did that against NY when he had 17 in the 4th qtr and won that game.
With cason you get like 8.5/10 defense and 7/10 offense. With Wiggins you get 5/10 defense and 8/10 offense
Nice work Michael. I can’t wait for this team to be at full strength. New to the channel and new subscriber.
I appreciate it the kind words and I feel the same way. Can’t wait to see the team with the full arsenal of talent from this roster. Glad to have you here!
If you pay attention, at the start of games, they are giving cason reps as the lead ball handler. he hasn't been great, but i want this to keep happening.
I think Sam Vecenie called him one of the best defensive freshman guards he'd ever seen in college...before an injury slowed him down and hindered his draft stock. He's had the total trust of the coaching staff since day 1 and an elite skill at the nba level at just about 21 years old. He's a key piece of the roster's core.
He’s an absolute defensive savant from what I have seen watching him in the predraft process up through now. He has a chance to be year in and year out one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA for a long time.
pj the god of thunder
Dudes like Reggie Evans vs the other 28 teams
Thunder's best 2-way player has a future superstar quality
He absolutely has a chance to be SPECIAL!
Queso can handle it
It’s crazy how good he is already at only 21! Definitely a ton of potential for Cason as he seems to be barely scratching the surface on the player he could possibly be.
@letstalkthunder I was surprised when they drafted him because I hate Kentucky so I never really watch him play in college but he is proving that the game isn't hard for him and he will be a HOFer before it over ...I'm standing on that !!
He is definitely next up. He reminds me of Jrue Holiday. Once Cason gets the offensive side of his game taking care of.
I’ve got a follow up Cason video planned with a ton of stuff on Jrue Holiday and other elite two way defender comps!
❤❤❤
Cason! I think he might be the most athletic player on the team.
You are probably right! It’s crazy for how skilled and versatile this roster is it has kind of been on the back burner for me in terms of all of the team’s elite athletes.
Isaiah Joe is very underrated athletically too. Over 90% of his points come from the 3 but he can jump incredibly high. Like that dunk last season on Jeff Green
@@gladepittenger9395brother I jumped out of my seat when Joe created that poster
30+ points tonight. He will eventually get past 54
Great video! I wish we get Lonzo Ball this season as a backup PG to lock in the title even in case Jdub gets injured in the playoffs
Lonzo would be a great addition! I think the biggest roadblock for that is how big his salary is along with his own injury history. But I’ve said for years I definitely think Lonzo Ball is a Thunder type of player.
His passing looks like Jokic's. Do a video comp of both like their similarities. They pass alike.
So Presti keeps proving he's the goat. He followed him on the road cuz he was sure that could be his guy.
i want to make one comment here -- you say he wont have the same volume of no-looks ... but actually if you pay attention closely to Topic's passing, he actually no looks an absurd percentage of his passes. it's very subtle on some plays, but you can see the way the defense is moving. not sure ive ever seen a player manipulate the defense with his eyes as well at this age. he also can make very fast decisions
Michael, a great idea would be to do a montage vid w/ Thunder highlights as song "You"re the Best" playing over it. (DK about copyright rules). Btw- Ajay- another great video!
I'll look into it, but i bet the YT big wigs with copyright would probably get me lol
Fun fact is that he played with Wemby in the youth team of Nanterre (France) before turning pro in Belgium. He then went to college with already 2 years of pro ball under his belt. This early experience in a large way explains the mature presence on the court he shows as a rookie.
I didn’t know that about him playing with Wemby! That’s super interesting. Thanks for sharing. I might have to ask Ajay about that if I get the chance.
Get right soon we need you
Man, he had a chance at rookie of the year. See you in the Playoffs kid. We are going to need your inner Tony Parker⚡️
Hoping for a speedy recovery for sure
In Presti we trust🙏⛈️⛈️
Hopefully one day he will reveal his secret sauce with talent evaluation and drafting!
Best Thunder channel on TH-cam. Let's get the word out. Share to all groups.
I appreciate it! Glad you are enjoying the videos I put out. I’ve got a ton more on the way that I’m super excited for you all to see.
He is definitely a thunder type.
For sure! He definitely checks a lot of boxes of what we have grown to know as what Thunder guys are. Dribble, pass, shoot, plays hard, defends and a great teammate.
Dort DPOY 100%
I died when folk BD / AD,...😂😅😂😅😂😅😂😅🤣😂🤣😂💀☠️💀☠️💀☠️ Before Dort /After Dort affect 😆 🤣
Between Jaylen Brown and Brandon Ingram, Lu Dort might just be the boogie man for the 2016 draft class 😂
Dort is a great glue guy who consistently plays as hard as he can defensively but he's very inconsistent offensively. Wiggins is a better overall player and has a much better all around offensive game and more size. After what Wiggins did against NY and Boston I honestly think he should take over that starting role and get more minutes. Wiggins is the reason they beat NY. Without those 15 fourth quarter points they don't win that game.
He literally has the hardest job in the league
I can’t imagine there are many if any players who have tougher defensive assignments on a nightly basis than Lu!
My favorite player. Dude does it all.
Luuuuuu, need this big game energy tonight!
🍞
I believe in Big Game Lue
🫡 gonna need him tonight!
0:55 how does 7/18 equal 18%?
Good catch! He actually shot 7/38 which does equal 18%. I guess I got 18 and 38 swapped in my notes by accident. My bad.
lu has his hands full on the cavs game later, hope he locks down mitchell
Really excited to see how Lu and Cason handle the Mitchell and Garland matchup tonight for sure!! 🍿
He sure locked down Mitchell but he scored less than him 11-5
Make some more videos on Cason Wallace. Also some videos on what Chet could bring back to the team when he returns. Also what is missing from the team. Go through the development or new moves across the team and what SGA has done to teach them new moves.
I’ve got a few of those on the way! One one Cason should be on its way in the next couple of weeks 👀
During crunch time, many players are hesitant to pull the trigger, Dort isn’t afraid.
For all of Lu's physical gifts and talents, his number one attritube might just be his confidence. He has a distinct lack of fear when it comes to failure and I think that shines brightest in these big games and big moments.
AWESOME CONTENT
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! ⛈🏀

Game is on Wednesday night not tomorrow night** my bad 🤦♂️
There is a simple explanation for the drop in NBA viewership, Adam Silver. Stern pushed quality, Silver has fallen into the tv network's (ESPN) big market trap. Hoops junkies don't care where they get their BB fix, but they do care how high they get from that hit. Stern understood that. I realize this is a rough analogy so I'll put it another way. Think of basketball as BBQ. Stern took his guests to that Mom and Pop's joint that blew you away and Silver is selling out and settling for Chili's baby back ribs because he gets a kickback.
