Really enjoyed the Armada line back in the day, and was seriously what got me back into collecting after G1 wrapped up. While the designs were great, the articulation for the most part sucked, and most if not all the toys were severely hampered by how gimmick heavy they were. Love seeing Legacy bringing back some of these designs, and improving on them for the most part. Can't say I miss the gimmicks or minicon features. Only missing Megatron at the moment, but I feel my ratings for each of them would be identical as I kinda hate Starscream, and how powerly he's engineered, flimsy he feels, and how both legs effortlessly fall off at the swivel. Hotshot needed better legs, and proportionate wheels that actually roll. The only thing Cybertron Hotshot does better but not much else. Optimus Prime though is perfect in just about everyway, and contender for probably the best Commander Class figure released so far. Ultra Magnus though is a very close second as everything you buy can be displayed on a shelf very much like Siege Jetfire who may not be G1 accurate, but looks absolutely epic armed to the teeth. Having 86 Optimus hand while I find him easily top 3, I will agree he is definitely the best Main line G1 era Prime we've seen outside Masterpiece. Side note. If the trailer seems homeless it's a decent enough place to park ER Prime if he no longer has a place on the shelf.

Just got 86 Springer the other day. Having no experience of the Siege or Wreckers iteration I find Springer's solid, accurate, and pretty good for a mostly retooled figure. Arms are an absolute nuisance though getting him into either alt mode. the pegs don't want to fit either fist, and the tire on the left has barely any clearance to roll properly. The hidden rocket in the wrist is so minuscule, and poorly incorporated that it feels barely worth the effort. Love how the propeller is apparently hugely improved from the Siege design, and how it free spins while having a weighty sword configuration. The rest of the accessories are fun to have on hand to as more weapons make for more display options. Definitely more G1 accurate, but as far as transformation alt modes I think the Thrilling 30 was a lot more fun. Still looks amazing on 86 movie shelf.

Was wondering if this was the reissue or original throughout, but the closed box design was a pretty good clue as I think Siege had windows on all their figures. Perfect timing as my reissue just shipped out from BBTS this week. While I've heard conflicting things about the original plastic quality everything else about Jetfire/Skyfire looks amazing. Love the size, G1 era accuracy to the cartoon, and the abundance of weaponry he comes with. The inclusion of the original chest plate/helmet is a nice bonus, but like most, definitely prefer the redesigned look. Copyright issues aside I've always liked how he looks like he properly fits in with the cast, and not just someone lifted off the Robotech/Macross series. Only time I've ever had Jetfire is the Classics which I never liked, as it had minimal articulation, and felt too small to scale with anyone in that line. Owning Magmatron he's a fun figure, and you may get more out of his Dino modes and hilariously cursed combined mode, but for me his best value is in main bot mode. as Fantastic shelf presence, and the articulation makes for some really good poses though he's unfortunately hampered by a lot of what's going on. I basically got him as a Commander Class Completionist, but personally with 86 Optimus dropping next month he's probably a better buy all around.

I was lucky enough to get the re-issue of Fill Tire and he is a beautiful, massive bot. If only he, instead of all the extra armor I couldn't care less about, came with a well groomed mustache accessory.

I'm all in on 86 Bee, when he ships out September. Not sure when Hasbro lost the trademark, but that would almost explain why he I think only got the chromed over Goldbug release in G2 as I still own that one. While 86 captures G1 easily the best in both modes, I still love the reimagining of him during the original Classics line in how they just made him a compact little hatchback. Many years later the Reactivate Bee felt like a weaponized version of that original concept which I think is also a very good interpretation of the design/character. I can totally see 86 Bee being the next mainline Cliffjumper as he was also in the Penny racer toy car style.

These reviews are legit hilarious, and informative. Definitely bringing the fun back into Transformers collecting. Never got any of the Titans Returns figures, but for a Modern Leader this is definitely one of the better ones. Much better subjectively than the Earthrise Double Dealer which is where I started up again after a very long hiatus. A Legacy Commander of Sixshot would be amazing as he could be budgeted to accommodate improved articulation, and more complete alt modes. Never could get in on any of the Titan Class Transformers for very much the same reasons . I can't even accommodate the collection I'm building up now.

Very refreshing to see someone finally let go of the past and acknowledge Megatron will never officially be a gun a gun again. While I get the 80s nostalgia of it my appreciation for Megatron only really began during the G2 era where he was given a transforming alt mode that actually made sense for his character. Heck Galvatron was even cooler in his design with his treaded space death canon mode which was finally done justice with the Kingdom/Legacy release. SS Megatron is a spectacular release and probably the best iteration for a movieverse version however for a G1 release the Earthrise Voyager by Takara is probably the best contender. Ignore the backpack, and with the premium paint bucket head he's I think as good as it will get until they figure out what to do with the SS86 next year. As far as Optimus goes probably will never go for a 3rd party release but Hasbro could already fix a lot of problems if they'd quit budgeting Optimus at a Voyager price point. Or at least that's what I'm hoping for as either AOE or TLK Optimus is getting a Leader release next year.

Gears is a certified banger. He is only my second pick up from United after Chase. I am very excited to get my hands on Filch later in the year. 👍

I'm in about the same boat as far as United goes. Only got Wingblade from Wave one, Chromia from Wave 2 and I'm not even a Cyberverse fan. Should be getting Sandstorm, and Gears shortly as I think both are great for being updated iterations. Hasbro definitely looks to have pulled out all the stops with Gears, and can't wait to pair him up with SS Brawn, Ironhide, and Ratchet. Also have Magnatron on preorder, and though I know next to nothing about him, he is a fairly articulate, large figure, and Commander Class mostly always delivers. As for future figs Bee is a maybe, Springer a definite as I only have the T30, and of course 86 Prime which I too feel may be the definitive and last I'll ever need to own.

Missing link Prime does look good, but on reflection I decided to save my money instead. If they do a Sideswipe I will not be able to resist.

G1 Prime is actually still a banger of a toy. There's a lot of things he CAN'T do, but what he does do he still does very well. He's a decent, well detailed truck with rubber tyres, he's a pretty looking robot with some of the best articulation in G1, an agreeable amount of die cast that hinders nothing and helps keep him balanced and his core feature of transformation is a piece of piss even if you're three. He's actually a far better toy than some of the tat that Hasbro is trying to pass off as Prime in 2024. If you can get him at a decent price instead of collector prices, he'd absolutely still be one of the best toys you could give a kid.

Oh wow, that editing and humor, Good thing I'm not one to be easily offended. Missing Link Prime is a super cool idea, and delivers just about everything you'd want from the original. While the execution is great I'm still pretty good with the Commemorative release as I never owned the original growing up and the closest I had up to that point was the G2 release with the black trailer, and enormous guns on the side which I still think is awesome. Totally get the rant about the trailers. The Leader class trailers suck, and are undersized even compared to the G1 iteration. The biggest offender though is Commander Class Hot Rod which is a fantastic Leader Class figure on his own, but his trailer is literally next to useless unless you have the space to display it in assault mode. With 86 Commander Class Prime happening I hope at the very least they can make a proportionately scaled trailer so it looks good in alt mode.

I looked at this notification, and immediately knew this was gonna be awesome. You put out memorable, and relatable Transformer videos. That Starscream ghost is a brilliant idea. Sandstorm is on my must have list.

Despite unpopular opinion really enjoyed Transformers Season3. I like how it went from episodic villain quests to peak Space opera with an actual narrative. Takara release of Octane looks so much better than the domestic which I've only experienced secondhand. Really hope to see this guy get the Leader treatment in the next year or two. While Legacy Blitzwing is still my favorite recent triple changer and probably the best iteration of the character we've seen, Sandstorm is an honest attempt though not near as refined. Still excited to get this guy in the collection come June or whenever he ships. Looks like loads of fun, and pretty solid for what he is given the LC budget.
