This story of the origin of the canyons has been commonplace since the 1940s, but the for...

My parents worked out a deal with the owners back in 1971 …they were going to buy it. I beleive it was up for auction - did not sell. My dad told the owner if it didn't sell to contact him - It did not sellat auction. My parents bought it, made It profitable then sold it back to the "original" at that time owners. The restaurant name when my parents had it was called J&J. The restaurant was always packed. I remember it made money. I wish my folks could have kept it. It would have been The spring summer of 1971 … we cleaned the rooms… there was a room above the stream behind the water wheel…. It was used by honeymooners…. Dads name. John Shaw. Mom’s name Jane Shaw. My parents had 4 children and my mother was pregnant with the 5th child. But that’s a tiny piece of the history of the place. I would have been around 8 years old at that time

David Bernard 2000 ad of Oneness says this about the Son and you will see he preaches a different Jesus then the early believers and Fathers:”The Beginning of the Son The Sonship-or the role of the Son-began with the child conceived in the womb of Mary...The Son of God had a beginning.” I have proven in scripture that the Son pre existed His incarnation, the Early Fathers believed it too and it’s for this reason we should to. I will start with the very first Fathers writings and show that this has always been taught and believed and it’s for this reason you should abandon this Oneness doctrine. Clement of Rome 50-95ad:”As Christ the Lord who saved us, though He was first a Spirit became flesh ... Barnabas 70ad”Wherefore the Son of God came in the flesh...” Hermes 80ad “The Son of God is older than all his creation, so that he became the Father's adviser in his creation. Therefore also he is ancient" Ignatius 95ad”Jesus Christ, who was with the Father before the beginning of time, and in the end was revealed.” Polycarp 145ad “...Jesus Christ Himself, who is the Son of God, and our EVERLASTING High Priest,” Justin Martyr 150ad "God speaks in the creation of man with the very same design, in the following words: 'Let us make man after our image and likeness' . . . I shall quote again the words narrated by Moses himself, from which we can indisputably learn that [God] conversed with someone numerically distinct from himself and also a rational being. . . . But this Offspring who was truly brought forth from the Father, was with the Father before all the creatures, and the Father communed with him" (Dialogue with Trypho the Jew 62). Justin Martyr 110-165ad”now the Son, again Wisdom, again an Angel, then God, and then Lord and Logos; and on another occasion He calls Himself Captain, when He appeared in human form to Joshua the son of Nave (Nun). For He can be called by all those names, since He ministers to the Father’s will,” Theophilus of Antioch a.d. 115-181”For the divine writing itself teaches us that Adam said that he had heard the voice. But what else is this voice but the Word of God, who is also His Son? St. Irenaeus 160-180ad “because the Word, the Maker of all things, had formed beforehand for Himself the future dispensation of the human race, connected with the Son of God;...For inasmuch as He had a pre-existence as a saving Being, it was necessary that what might be saved should also be called into existence, in order that the Being who saves should not exist in vain.” Origen 180ad “whereas the statements made regarding Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are to be understood as transcending all time, all ages, and all eternity.” Dionysius, Bishop of Alexandria a.d. 200-265 “Since, therefore, the Father is eternal, the Son also is eternal, Light of Light.” Athanasius 298ad This again is strongly evidenced and proved by divine Scripture. For the Word of God is His Son, and the Son is the Father’s Word” Nicene Creed 325ad “I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who, for us men for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;”

The Trinitarian defender (Ayres) made all the basic mistakes and misconceptions that all Trinitarians make. Too many mistakes to mention here. His citing of James White's definition of "one being, three persons" is just that, White's definition. Is it a biblical definition, no. Is it found in any reputable dictionary? Of course not. Did any of the early Ante-Nicene Fathers use this definition? They did not. Sabine could have done a better job if he had cited some sources for his comment that these men (earlier Trinitarians) had taken their concept and definition of the Trinity from Plato or Aristotle.

Thank you for your comment. Trinity does not apply more than one God. The Trinity of God or the Triune Nature of God is the unknown and of course, that is the reason for the debates. We all want to know God. As you know, Trinity and Oneness both are often confused and misrepresented. Through these debates, we hope to present both sides honestly. Perhaps helping us all to gain knowledge and understanding of our God. Those who suggest Trinitarians believe in Three Gods are those who are unaware of what "Trinity Means" or usually are JW and are taught the inaccurate definition to assure they stay within the cult. Of course, many can bring up scripture in this inaccurate definition to sort this misrepresented idea as being incorrect because God is One. Where the problem lies is in verse like John 1:1 which the NWT (Appears to be from Johannes Greber's spiritism translation, though disavowed it is clearly apparent in past Watchtower's that they received it before making the NWT) which change the verse entirely. For those who understand 'Trinity' properly, it is understood that verses from both sides can be used, i.e., A few Trinity verse; Matt. 28:19, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit," 1 Cor. 12:4-6, "Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are varieties of ministries and the same Lord. 6And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons." 2 Cor. 13:14, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." John 1:1"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." As for me, I am a Trinitarian in my belief primarily because I do not place boundaries on the nature of God. I do not understand the full nature of God but know some da I will be with him. Just like John 1:1, I do not know how Jesus was with God and was God, but I can believe that this is the nature I do not understand. A nature that allows God can be spirit and also walk with Adam at the same time, walk with men yet speak to himself in spirit, live as a man yet devoid himself of power, be able to be and see the beginning and the end all at the same time (knowing and seeing both). All of this is beyond my understanding but not beyond my personal belief. This, of course, does not mean I believe that Oneness are wrong in beliefs, are opposing truth they just have a different understanding in what 'they' believe. Does it matter? I am not someone to condemn, we are all on the path to truth. Some would say if Jesus was not God but just a man, what good was his death? I am sure there are others questions on both sides. This, of course, is the reason for debate and talking with good fellowship, peace, and love. Is there a winner or loser in these debates... no losers I believe, I think we all win. Hope you enjoy this debate that was held in the nature of good fellowship and brotherhood. I added two links below of interest. May God Bless You and your family. Hope you enjoyed the debate.
