beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Good choice the dress is perfect 😊😊😊
Thank you 😊I was surpised it worked so well
Hi. I love everything you have made. When you are wearing the last dress in this video you are wearing a gorgeous green colour bra. Where did you get it from? Keep making these great videos😘
Marks and Spencers. They do brilliant bras
I love your dress it looks great on you. If I was wearing it I'd have to put a slit up the back or on the sides to make walking easier. You don't have any problem walking in it.
Great idea!! I may well add a slit, it didn't occur to me.
I love chaotic! The dress is very elegant.
Thank you. I always want to feel elegant and fail miserably.
Great dress Stef, really suits you 🤩
I was pleasantly surprised.
I love the dress. It looks nice with a belt
I need to crack on and make the belt.
If you have a dog, have you ever made a dog coat? Lots of laughing will ensue.
I am not sure my dog would like it but i imagine it would be a fun process.
You have to take the skirt off to fix this, if you were up for it. There is excess fabric in the length of the bodice. If you remove that excess, you could take in a bit at the side seams to perfect the fit. But without removing the excess length, no amount of tweaks will fix the bodice.
I ended up just making it a skirt. I will eventually try a bodice that fits better but need to wait for the motivation to come back.
Take the elastic cuff off and leave them as flutter sleeves? The only other way is to make straps and attach the gathering at the shoulder into the straps. Like Victory Patterns Sophie Dress.
On lekala in addition to your measurements you can also choose options such as short torso ( waist height: high). But I generally I find the regular torso is not too long there. However not all their patterns have the same sort of fit. Throughout the years they changed their design methods several times it seems.
I did not know that! Thank you! Having a recently discovered short torso has really killed my sewing mojo. I just hate having to do so many pattern edits before getting to be the fun part!
Looking forward to learning about more of your crafty adventures! ☺️
:)

Thank you for sharing your ramble. It's always helpful to know youaren't the only one working it all out,
Honestly I have so much to say about small handmade businesses, E-commerce, Etsy and the social media marketers on instagram
No jumpsuits for this old lady, lol. Enjoyed the video and new sub.
Thanks for subbing! I love the one piece look of jumpsuits but not so much the practicality. Some do require quite flexible shoulders :)
I love your problem-solving approaches! Your skirt is beautiful and elastic waistbands are comfortable too. So it's a win-win! I'm here for whatever you bring whether thread catcher, a tidy or creative strategizing.
Thank you. It’s hard to know what videos to make sometimes. I need to come up with some strategies to help me focus 😂😂😂
Great job! I was fixing a patch on a jumpsuit while I was watching you 😊
It’s all such tedious boring work isn’t it but it needs doing.
I think it great how you think outside the box. I would have unpicked everything and then gone “what do I do now?” I would have the folded everything up neatly and tht would have 😂been it! I actually Want another way of inserting elastic. It’s from tessutti patterns on their blog. I can send through the link if you’re interested. Currently unable to sew due to hand surgery so TH-cam it is! Planning to catch up with your vlog on jumpsuit patterns (even though I don’t wear them, I think they’re awesome). Take care, enjoy the gorgeous weather, hope you some sewing time in and see you next time 🙂
Hope the surgery went well and the recovery period is short. I’ll have a look at the blog for inserting elastic, cheers. If it gets unpicked it’s then scrap fabric 😂😩
thank you for your interesting video but i can’t achieve sharonsews dress pattern (forth dress) it’s just for readers how can i get that i really want that dress
It looks like the blog isn’t there anymore. It was a super old one to be fair. I’ll have a look in the next few days for something similar and post the link for you.
Hi, sorry its taken so long to reply but I have found a similar pattern to the one that isn't available anymore: payhip.com/b/HKiv www.onthecuttingfloor.com/free-sewing-pattern-fiona-dress/
Loved this vlog thank you so much for sharing….so many were stunning but think I like the last one best…❤😊
Yay! Thank you!
I love your crocheted cardigan. Did you make it? If so, what pattern did you use? I’m obsessed with jumpsuits and have made the Zadie jumpsuit twice. I really appreciate you sharing these patterns. I may not make any but they’re so inspiring.
Yes I did. It’s called a hexagon cardigan. You can find plenty of free patterns and tutorials for it. I paid for a pattern before I realised I could find it for free. 2 hexagons, fold it, seam up the back and underarms. And then few rounds for arms and add some cuffs. I made mine in Aran weight acrylic and it then got super big after washing and using the dryer. I will probably end up making the zadie due to the sheer number of makes I see on instagram 😂
The last one on the list is my favourite ❤
I want them all!
I had the same frustrations with some H &M dresses. The peoblem is that style. Rhey barely want you to be able to cover bra straps. I have to keep the sleeves from falling as well. How frustrating! I wonder if you could shir some elastic down the inside of the sleeves to make it more snug fitting.
I have given up with this project and made a skirt instead. I’ve saved the fabric from the top and I’ll make another top and have it as a 2 piece. Good to know about H&M!
Oooh I love those unfettered shorts with the paper bag shorts. I’ve made the skye shorts for peppermint patterns and I wear them all the time. So comfy and an easy make.
I am starting to feel the need for some new shorts. They are just so practical and take so little fabric.
Leave them separate...you will have two wonderful pieces or one dress
I ended up buying another pattern. The skirt is now wonderful as i added thick elastic into the waist and it worked really well. Expensive mistake to make with linen mind you.
Thank you for the ideas.... If I can give you a suggestion.... I think that it would be better for the viewers if you have more images while you're talking.... Or simply leave the one image for more time....
Thanks for your feedback
gosh you've been busy! I love seeing your makes for the little ones they are too cute... my babies are all grown up ... I suppose I should make dog coats, that's about the closest I get to young one these days! The days are drawing in and the morning and evening chill of late autumn has hit here in Oz. But there have has been some glorious autumn sun and earth during the day...so doing my best to not complain. But i'll have to live vicariously through all you bloggers in the northern hemisphere as we dive into winter here (or buy a sun lamp🛋😎!). See you next vlog.
Dog coats would be so adorable! How cold does it get during winter down there? I am so excited for summer sewing! Winter has been such a drag.
@@knotsandneedlescrafts because of where Melbourne is located we’re blessed with lots of southerly winds so temperatures can average from overnight lows of around 5 or 6 degrees to about mid teens in the day (and anything in between). It’s honestly the wind factor that gets me. Lived in the Northern Territory for several years and then country NSW near Canberra which can get get even colder, but I had learned all about thermals and layering by this time and there wasn’t the wind chill factor like Melbourne .. you know, it’s 12 degrees but feels like 7 degrees at midday! And the older I’ve got the more I miss the sun in winter. But wait for it…planning a visit to the UK next year to see friends and guess when we’re flying over … yep…February!
Its the wind chill that gets us here in the UK too. Its so annoying. Ah i can't believe you are visiting in February.. Its one of the most miserable months after January! I hope its not too wet and windy for you.
There's a certain chaotic humorous energy in this clip and I love it
That defines my life 😂😅
This was a super fun video! Subscribed.
Thank you 🥰

My hubby loves his White T-shirts.
He is very on trend then :)
You sold me when you said this video doesn’t have tiers… it’s just not flattering on me. Tiers make me look like I’m cosplaying a 6 year old.
I dont mind ruffles on the bodice as they give me more shape, but never tiers. I hate the lack of clean lines.
😂😂😂
❤
Thank you
Love it, I just cut mine.
Thank you. I must say for me its a bit wide on the shoulders and I am probably going to cut it up and make it into a jacket.
Nice finds thank you! To those interested in the tie front Elliot top, be careful on the website as there's is an Ad on the site that has 'Download' in big letters, but it's for a subscription service that will renew at £49/month
Thanks for the info!
It’s so cool you sew for the kids in your life! ❤
It’s purely selfish as I like seeing handmade things be used.
Good luck with the bodice creation. I still haven’t picked up that book but I’ve ordered it! So you’re ahead of me. The author of it lives locally and offers garment fitting courses but they’re all booked up currently. I’m desperate to go on one!! I’ve started making a few little children clothes. Oh why don’t our clothes fit as easily? Enjoy your sewing. Have fun. 👍
I now have tracing paper so tomorrow I am going to attempt to start. I would love to go on a fitting course. But they are either too far away or when my husband isn’t here so it never works out. One day. I’d love to spend intensive time learning instead of the piecemeal approach I have now
Me too!! . It’s the one major issue that I struggle with.
Also, if you are interested in boning, Gertie has lots of videos on how to sew it on her Patreon. I think she has some free one here, too
I'll check it out!
Or you could try taking in the princess seams on the bodice
I like this idea too
I agree that you could shorten the bodice. What about taking the bodice apart and making a center front seam to take out width? If you make it into separates, then you could add a button band down the center front. That’d be so cute! If you do that, then you could just make the back plain.
I also bought another pattern which has buttons down the middle. I am going to try some learning about bodice fit before tackling this piece again 😌
Oh! If you want the perfect fit on your bodices, make a sloper from your measurements! I did it, and it's magic. You take a bunch of measurements, follow the direction to draw them out on paper, and the resulting garment fits like a second skin! Then you add ease for your desired sloper fit. Look up Suzie Fuhrer. She's amazing!!
@@knotsandneedlescrafts did I suggest Suzie Fuhrer to you? She does amazing drafting instructions! It’s so worth it. Follow her instructions, and three hours later you will have the perfectly fitting bodice block of your dreams!
I will go check her out immediately! I have so many patterns I want to try and now am so put off because I know it wont fit right without alot of modifications @@meghannwhite6633
Great video! It seems that you really enjoy sewing children's clothing. How lucky all those children are! I have recently started sewing some baby clothes as well. In your video you said that the snaps with the metal prongs often fall out. I have had that experience as well and it is so frustrating! I have wondered about using the plastic snaps, but I thought that they are only for woven fabric. Have you had luck using the plastic snaps on jersey? If so, do you have any tips to make that successful?
Plastic snaps are great. I sew in woven fabric to act as an interfacing layer. Stabilising the jersey. Works really well.
My boy is 33 and I look at him and just think, so WHERE DID the last 30 years or so go! Your nautical dress looks great and the belt really finishes it off. Yep, SAD is a definite thing. We are going the other way here in Oz, so I am trying to soak up every gram of sun I can... this will probably be my first proper autumn/winter sewing season... lets hope it staves off the winter blues a bit as I (hopefully) create some lovely me made clothes. have a great week nd see you next vlog 😎🦩
Enjoy the last of the heat!
I found the sewmag dress oversized also your make looks lovely nice colour blue
Thank you. It’s an alright pattern. I think I’d make it again
