มุมมอง 14614 วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video are targeting speckled trout in a small creek during the winter using paddle tails. There is not much commentary in this video. The technique I used was giving the paddle tail small hops and keeping it close to the bottom. The fish were located in deep holes in the creek that were shielded from the North wind by trees.

Jaboom baby! Thats a cool bait. Cool video buddy!
Look at the Son the bottom as well
Nice!!!
Awesome video! Your review really makes me want to try it out. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Thank you! I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. Hope it works as good for you as it has been for me.
Nice! I love the new camera angle and the live commentary. Great video quality and sound quality is fantastic!!! Makes me regret my $100 AKASO cameras for sure! 🤣🤣 Looking forward to more of this.
Thanks, your front facing videos are what kind of inspired me to go that route. Took way too long to get that front cam to back cam transition with the fish catch to look smooth haha. Takes a while to edit but I think the end product looks better.
@@Eightmile_Drifter Thanks, it seriously looks great! Not sure what editing software you use, I don't have a Mac or PC, so I do everything on a Chromebook and web based software (WeVideo). Does a good job with splitting and transitioning. What resolution and frame rate do you use to take videos? I film 1080p at 60fps to save battery life, but am thinking of going up to 2.7k?
Thank you I really appreciate that. I film at 1080 60fps. I found that my cameras would overheat even when the batteries were out of the camera if I upped the formats. I external power and film all day so they got too hot. Once I dropped to 1080 the overheating stopped completely. For editing I use iMovie that comes on all Mac’s. The Go pros can be buggy sometimes but they film quality is pretty solid.
Nice
Thank you!
@ you are welcome!
Very nice bass I enjoyed the video
Thanks you! I appreciate you watching!
The bass whisperer! Another cool video brotha, nice work.
Thank you! I do miss spring time. I’ve been struggling lately to find them. Haha
Great video man! Looks like a nice day out there! I’ve been subscribed mate and I’m loving the videos! I’ve gotta get out and make another video! Keep up the good work mate! 🤝🤝💪💪
@@colejfishingadventures Thanks, just watched your latest. It was a blast. You guys had quite an eventful day.I hadn’t gotten a notification about an upload in a while. TH-cam hasn’t been sending the notifications I guess. Tight lines!
Love that kayak fishing!
Thank you, kayak fishing is a blast. Merry Christmas!
Another great video. Merry Christmas.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Merry Christmas buddy!
Merry Christmas my friend! That was a fun day! I got my limit early in that one too but unlike you, I didn't adjust and my day stopped there.
Oh yeah dead lake is always a fun one. Seems to be great for moving baits once the wind blows. I have a feeling you’ll do some damage there this year with the chatter bait you’ve started using. Merry Christmas buddy!
Great trip, Merry Christmas
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Merry Christmas!
U SHOULD TRY USING SPINNER BAITS IN THAT MURKY WATER AND CASTCH SOME SLOBS!
Yeah I love spinnerbaits but don’t seem to do quite as well with them if it isn’t spring time. I know some guys will fish them in the summer but I haven’t mastered that yet. Nothing is better than burning a spinnerbait and seeing a 4lber roll up in it. Merry Christmas!
Good white perch thanks for taking us alone
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Cool
@@reneangler thanks for checking out the video!
Awesome review! It looks super effective! Can't wait to try it out!
Thank you, the lures work great. Hope they work for you!
Nice bait, looks like a good spot to try them out.
Thank you! The curly tails works great. Hope to try out more of the Q8 stuff soon.
Heron bay?
Pretty close to HB but not quite.
👍
Thanks for watching the video!
Great video. That’s a nice hat!
Thank you, It's pretty warm
I'm amazed sometimes watching you fish!! It looks so effortless yet so effective. When I got a notification I was sure it was gonna be a video of your new ride. I'm debating going out Sunday... I don't like being cold. Yet here you are fishing in the 30's. Good video.
Thank you buddy! From what I remember of this trip I spent most of the morning cold and fighting a north wind. No fun in the Big Rig kayak haha. I only stumbled onto those fish later in the day. Most of the day was a struggle. I got a little lucky on this one.
Cool video. Love that setting - small creeks and some big trees nearby. Great catches! Never waste good footage! Good luck ahead.
Thank you! I've been torn on how to edit that trip so as to not give too much away. People tend to hit winter trout pretty hard around here.
Nice message specs thanks for taking us alone
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Speck fishing is fun once they stack up.
Never heard of it.
Haha great lure and a great name!
How do you think it compares to their old discontinued King Shad? Same bait it looks like, just renamed.
It’s supposed to be the same but the joint area is said to be stronger.
Interesting. I've got a couple of baits that hang just below the surface, but the only thing I have been able to get are those damn Bowfin 😂 I've seen some videos of non-jointed wake baits but not any like this. Great review!!
Thank you, I really like it. Not sure if it can replace my shimano popper but I can see it doing well when trying to determine which piece of cover the fish are relating to, and then honing in with another lure.
Great video! Bait looks great 👍🏻
Thank you, I’m loving it so far
First time seeing this one , looks like it works great.
Oh yeah, I’m really enjoying it. Let’s you cover a ton of water pretty fast and still get those good topwater strikes!
Similar mold to the 6th sense speed wake. If the action is anything similar it has an awesome action. Thanks for the review!
Yeah they are near identical side by side. The sixth sense has a slightly louder knocker and is available in a lot more colors. Have not thrown it yet but I imagine it gets thumped also. Hope to review that one soon.
Been sitting in that kayak too long!!😂
Haha you ain't wrong. Getting old is tough. 😂
That’s a hog!!
Oh yeah, gotta love spring fishing for pre spawners. You never know what you will catch.
Nice peaceful setting, except for the sound of the reel’s drag and the sapp-sucker! Enjoyed the video
Thanks, I agree with you on disliking that clicker style drag. A lot of guys like hearing it though. Those creeks are very relaxing once you get away from all the traffic. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hooray for the kayaking flounder catcher!
Thank you, it was a fun day. I love targeting flounder!
Great fishing trip 👍
Thank you! I’m starting to like fishing docks. Hope to try more bass tactics around them next year.
Man, you were casting and catching like it ain't no thing 😂 good video and congrats on 3rd place. You seem to always be lurking on the leaderboard.
Thank you! I lost the 2nd place fish several times that day but was very pleased with third. Flounder fishing can be a lot like bass fishing with plastics. This past year is the first time I have really targeting docks inshore. It reminds me so much of bass fishing, it's becoming my favorite way to inshore fish.
Good mess flounder enjoy the video
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! They sure were good eating!
Nice work around those rocks. Very cool. Excellent video. And dinner!! Good luck ahead.
Thank you, those rocks can hold nice ones as long as it's smooth enough to fish them. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hey!!!
Hello, thanks for checking out the video!
Man thats awesome you made it out there. I've seen some wild species off that rock point. Another solid video buddy, good job!
Thank you, it’s a little bit of a run for sure. Always loaded with fish unless it’s a winter time negative tide.
"sometimes I hate flounder" 😂 so, a few months back I took my yak out without my peddle unit and attempted to paddle only. Of course I filmed it. The inspiration for that exercise was watching you and how easily you maneuver and navigate the really shallow waters. It was a complete disaster! It looked like that outing only the water was calm! Lol😂 I say all of that to give you props. If I had to do that all the time, I don't think I'd enjoy the sport nearly as much. Good job!!
Haha, thank you. A lot of my tournament success with paddling really started when I picked up that little Jackson Kilroy that I use in most of the tournaments. It’s quick, stable, and can make micro adjustments easier than most pedal or motor powered kayaks. In this video I’m in the Jackson big rig which is a beast in any current or wind to maneuver. If my only yak was a big paddle kayak I think I’d struggle big time.
Awesome 👍
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
What brand and size kayak are you using?
In this video I’m using the Jackson Big rig, it’s about 40” wide and 13.6’ long I believe. It’s my stable kayak but it’s slow and tiresome to maneuver in wind. Most of my videos are in my little 11’ Jackson Kilroy. It’s a sit inside kayak and maybe 30” wide but you sit lower in it so it still feels stable. I prefer the Kilroy unless I look at Windfinder and think I’m going to have issues with white caps from the bay coming in the kayak with me. The Kilroy won’t self drain like a regular sit on top Kayak, so if I take a wave over the side or bow that water stays with me until I manually bail it out. When it seems dangerous I’ll opt for the Big rig, even though I don’t fish as well out of it. If you can find a Kilroy locally I recommend you pick one up. They are great kayaks. Thanks for checking out the video!
Another great video.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Yessir
Thanks for the support Braylen!
How does the reel do? Do you like it? And how's the drag?
Yea, I like it. It’s an older reel so not as smooth as a modern day reel but I’m happy with it. Older reels were built tougher and that’s what I like about it. Not sure of the drag specs but I suspect it’s about 10lbs.
A great top water crank, ive been using these since the mid 90s
They sure are! Recently found out that Mann’s has gone out of business and sold all of their lure stock to bass pro. If you live near a BPS go check their clearance bins. And they may have some new old stock 1-. Once they are gone I don’t think we will be able to buy anymore new ones.
That the Shimano BFS? I have a Shimano and Kast King BFS tried to warm up to but still prefer spinners for ultra light weight lures in this South TX wind. Great video buddy & good scenery
Yeah it’s the Curado bfs. Having a very limber tip that loads up when you flick the lure is critical for throwing tiny light weight lures. RX Angler and MDLR over your way made their TH-cam names by doing bfs stuff. It’s a lot of fun once you get you’re set up together.
@Eightmile_Drifter yea theyre pretty cool reels. Need to use em more
