All-Terrain Wheelchair makes Hiking Trails #accessible in Delaware State Parks
All-Terrain Wheelchair makes Delaware Hiking Trails #accessible #mobility
We got a chance to try out a new all-terrain mobility 👩‍🦽‍➡️chair in one of our State Parks here in Delaware. 🌲White Clay Creek State Park has made an Action TrakChair (ATV wheelchair) available to those who are mobility limited. The chair is currently housed at White Clay Creek Carter Recreation Center location, and is reservable by contacting the State Park office.
My wife had a blast, blazing the 🚶‍♂️‍➡️trails with me, something we have never been able to do before.
This video is NOT sponsored by the parks nor the wheelchair manufacturer.

Backpacking ROARING PLAINS West Wilderness | Part 3

Backpacking the ROARING PLAINS West Wilderness | I embark on a 3 day adventure into remote WV wilderness trails with two good hiking friends, Gary and @blueridgeboy1981 The 3rd and final day is probably the most challenging I have done as far as finding the actual trail called the Tee Pee trail. About a mile of pure game trail, pushing through vegetation, and tromping through mud bogs made this...

Backpacking the ROARING PLAINS West Wilderness | I embark on a 3 day adventure into remote WV wilderness trails with two good hiking friends, Gary and @blueridgeboy1981 . The 2nd day is longer and more involved terrain, following the Pipeline and then onto the Canyon Rim Trail, which was challenging due to frequent rock hopping and steep drop-offs next to the trail. I saw the AllTrails comment about oil spill/leak from the pipeline contaminating the area in late July. Did you encounter any of that?

    • @BeaglesBackcountryAdventures
      @BeaglesBackcountryAdventures หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't have AllTrails so I have not seen what post you are referring to.. but that being said, this is a natural gas pipeline, so there would not be any oil spill from the pipeline itself. I did see some standing puddles that had an oily sheen on them, I suppose maintenance vehicles, stuff like that that drive through there might leak fluids, but there are also natural organic sources of those oily 'sheens', especially in marshy or boggy areas where there is decomposition happening. I saw some of this in the Dolly Sods area as well. Thanks for the comment and for checking out the video! 👍

In fact, a piece of it used to run right through our front yard just below the castle area. Most folks just don't realize how beautiful CT is because of the populous in southern NE. @SouEulAm it wasn’t too bad, trail was just a little confusing on the way. Both Yellowstone Creek and Swift Creek basins are gorgeous, but a grind if you are climbing… just be prepared. Not any safe camping in the Yellowstone trail from about 3miles from campground, until you reach the Milk Creek area;too steep and lots of dead trees. Good luck on your adventure!

      @MarmaladeOutdoors, thanks for watching... I have the Weekender model. IF you have the funds, you can customize your size for a few inches more or less, depending on your needs. This one works for me for most hikes, but sometimes i'll just opt to hang with an Op sack if the environment allows. With the JMT, its not an option. Good luck on your hike, and let me know if you have any other questions!

I’ve technically already done the JMT when I hiked the PCT but just doing the JMT this summer so I don’t have to do such big miles as I did on the PCT and can actually stop once in awhile and enjoy it. I have the bucks but it’s just a bit confusing which one to get and how many days of food they roughly carry. Thanks again I appreciate it
