TURBO TANK CLEANER | Water Heater Cleaning Tool
What a great way to destroy all the internals, including the lining, of ur heater and put money in ur plumber’s pocket. This should’ve pulled from the market.
Thanks Chicken for your reply. This tool will not harm your water heater. Plumbers make their money replacing water heaters, not saving them.
@ seems safer to blow controlled bursts of air with a bike pump. This product is better used to unclog a drain.
As a plumber ill tell you right now thia is a bad idea first thw connestions are plastic .. second the agitator has a huge chance or cracking or completely beeaking the glass lining inside the tank better to get a new water then risking your home being flooded
I'm no design engineer, but wouldn't the fact that the angle of the hose attachment is going back towards the water heater mean that the sediment can't flow out as efficiently and it would get clogged up there? Why exactly was it designed this way, makes no sense
URL to buy. it?
I feel like the video is a waste if you’re not gonna show exactly how it works
I wonder if the tank manufacturer will still honor the warranty after I tell them I used a metal snake to whip around the inside of the tank. I applaud your effort, but...
My electric water heater only has one valve on it and for unknown reason someone added a thermometer to it, just dangling there. So should I go outside and use the main shutoff valve ?
fyi, I have bought one of these, not sure if it's his brand but identical otherwise. I used it on a 30 year old 40gal hot water holding tank; I got about 2 gallons of sediment out of it. It was an indirect heater type hot water tank. I have not yet reinstalled the tank though, will replace the sacrificial anode first, then hope for the best.
Why don't you built it in Stainless steel instead of Plastic It will last a life time rather people can start there side job But made of this plastic HHHMMM this will not last long before cracking cross threading ect... MAKE IT OF STAINLESS STEEL
Water heater is only 7 years old. No issues with water pressure or anything. Should I still do this?
Can depend on where you live and how your water is. Simplest answer is if you don’t have a water softener or water filtration then yes this can and will help you in the long haul. Im a maintenance supervisor I have almost 300 units on site. We try to flush em once a year tools like this are a huge help
@bighoss1435 thank you!
Damn he cross threaded the hell out of that thing. Ray Charles and Stevie wonder would have threaded it better.
I tried to use one of these yesterday, I ran it for about 10 seconds and the spring thing got bound up and broke off inside the water heater. I spent about an hour fishing that stupid thing out of the tank. Never again.
Bro the Quick Connect fittings that go on your water hose make life so much easier when hooking that shit up instead of constantly having to screw or unscrew your garden hose.
Wouldnt it potentially crack or break an form of lining inside the tank to prevent bare metal exposure and rust?
I feel a little guilty for watching this entire video so give me a sec to rewatch to make sure...LOL
Honest guy thanks
Someone recorded a video about an it damage their water heater
Surprised that for someone so interested in tank maintenance, you reinstalled the same plastic drain valve, without it looked like any thread tape on it.
What do you do if you can’t get the drain valve out? I ordered one to do this to a water heater that’s been in my house over thirty years but there was no way I could get the drain valve off the water heater without risking breaking it.
If the water heater is 30 years old, it's probably time for a new one.
@@jerry132526 You’re probably right, it still heats the water fine but probably not the more efficient in terms of gas usage.
Awesome! Going to invest in 1. 👍
My only question is with the tool inside hit the bottom element,
Why would I want to damage the inside of my water tank with this tool?
I wonder if you have to be a licensed plumber though.
Seems plausable but looking at its execution I say meh. 🤷🏼♂️
Doesn't look anywhere near as good as the Sediment Buster.
But you can break the elements
I used one today… works like a champ. 👍🏻
Replace that cheap plastic drain valve with a brass one!!!
Can't you get a decent home to show your product Looks like a slum house. Nice cross thread on the hose
With a large trap door water heaters would be cleaned by user/owners and never wear out . American manufacturers could not sell a new heater every couple of years. American made products are designed to fail and cost the buyer lots of pain and lots of money. USA is doomed.
Doesn't look soft enough to me to not break dip tube, ceramic/glass lining, maybe even a heating element. I like the idea of the grinder to break up the sediment. My first attempt to flush was to use a long hose to go out the walk-out basement and it quickly got clogged. (looked like small aquarium gravel)
Buy a tool and start your own company
….And after that the tank leaked and had to buy a new tank……
How come you didn't add thread leak tape? Teflon Tape?
Thanks for the heart attack...
The key is to maintain and flush your water heater BEFORE there is a buildup of sediments. Once you let the sediments harden and adhere to the bottom, good luck clearing it.
This is a dumb invention on the level of when rugrats introduced me to the ear-whizz. Waste money on the device then waste money on the plumber needing to come fix/replace your water heater. Good job.
could it damage the tank wall?
kamakazi style
made in usa good stuff are you sure not china
Herramienta perfecta! Y fácil de usar! Excelente instructor 💯
Yep, some broken of elements... I'll pass!
I found very small amber colored beads in my washer today. Look like water softener resin, but I have no water softener. Where did they come from an what do I do about it?
Way to not show us how to use it or even install it
The other day I started getting the dreaded water heater knock. Flushing didn't work so I ordered this tool and it worked. I don't know what else to say about it, it worked good and the knocking went away, it did take a long while and a lot of water to clear all of the stores up sediment but it's also a 12 year old tank.
You need a better hose. A cordless drill And need to fire your canera person
There was still tons of sediment after you used the gadget. Now let me tell you the right way to do it. You use a 3/4" brass nipple with a shut off valve and a garden hose adapter on the other side. You take off the crappy plastic drain valve and screw in the 3/4" brass valve with shut off. You then hook up your garden hose to the adapter and either run hose outside or in floor drain. You then cut hot side water line and cap it at tank. Turn on your main shut off to water heater and open up the shut off you installed on that 3/4" brass nipple the incoming water pressure will flush every bit of the sediment out of tank because you now have a much larger opening that lets all the bigger sediment to go through smoothly, let it run until you see clear water. Then your done , Turn off the main shut off valve to water heater and let remaining sediment free water empty from tank, Tank will be empty as if it were brand new. I'm a master plumber in 3 different states been doing it this way for over 20 years and always flush all sediment out with this method, I'm only sharing this knowledge with you all because I am retiring soon.
Is it okay to flush a tank that is 7-8 years old? Tanks looks great, no issues at all, just want to do maintenance
Those things are gr8t im a plumber had few ppl call my their tank is leaking . First they didnt touch it etc. Then turned out they used this thing the tank was already gone they just speed up the process 😂😂😂 cha ching 🤪🤪🤪
What a crock of crap to sell one more useless gadget. Use your wet dry vac and clean it properly while replacing the anode. Listening to this self serving advertising is not going to solve the problem.
Do these chip the enamel inside the tank?
